Programming reminder: 'UFC Countdown' to 105 'Couture vs Vera' debuts TONIGHT (Nov. 9) on Spike TV

Countdown to UFC 105: "Couture vs. Vera" will debut tonight (Nov. 9) at 11 p.m. ET on Spike TV to promote the upcoming event scheduled for the Manchester Evening News (MEN) Arena in Manchester, England, on Nov. 14.
The hour-long special presentation will provide a glimpse into the preparation and training camps of the fighters set to headline the show, including former light heavyweight champion, Randy Couture, returning to the 205-pound division to take on the hard-hitting Brandon Vera.
In addition, hometown favorite Michael "The Count" Bisping will also likely be highlighted as he prepares to take on Pride FC standout, Denis Kang, in the co-featured fight of the night, as well as welterweights Mike Swick and Dan Hardy who will clash to help clarify the suddenly murky 170-pound number one contender situation.
For those who miss tonight’s "Countdown to UFC 105″ premier it will re-air on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 1 a.m. ET and then again on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. ET.

I’m looking forward to the Brown fight he looked good his last time out greatly improved from his TUF days and I’m hoping Bisping comes out firing he has something to prove and of coarse Randy is always a treat to watch. Another weekend with free MMA got to love it.

this is just a warm up for nest weekend 106 fights there is no such thing as a free crap card in the UFC thats for sure the three lst events fighters would be top five fighter in any other organization.

106 has a lot of good fights but the main event lacks pop. Ortiz-Griffin should be closer to the undercard IMO, maybe even first fight of the night.

Hardy vs. Swick is going to be a complete tear up. Someone’s going to get dropped and I think it’s going to be Swick. either way, these two are going to stand and bang! I’m looking forward to it more than anything else on the card.

i like this new format, actually its pretty identical to HBO’s 24/7, but its more about the training now! i wasnt too stoked for this card before, but after watching this im actually pretty pumped now! Good luck competing with Pacquiao/Cotto though, even though its free. I’m thinking most Filipinos will watch Manny over Brandon though.

Luckily we get to see both live as they are on at different times, not that am filipino. Am hoping for bisping , hardy , couture and cotto!!!!! Think am might b in for a night of dissapointment tho except the couture fight

Cotto? That’s just being a hater sir. Pacquiao conquering a seventh division is stuff of GOATness. Yeah am a cotto fan but it’s just better cosmically if he loses. Also both camps have been dealing with internal nonsense but it seems like he cant find any quality training partners while Pacquiao camp has rooted out all the hanger ons and leeches.
As far as MMA, I think Bisping loses here. He’s had a Forrest griffin/Ortiz type of run where it was nice that he could get some upsets but now no more easy fights, no more good stylistic matchups. He’ll only face beasts. Here Kang is simply better at everything except for the whole “choking” thing when it comes to big fights. Same for Vera.

I’m going to UFC 105 and a mate of mine is coming with a crate of beers for Pacman-Cotto so it should be a sick night of fights. War Pacman, Couture, Hardy and Kang.
24/7 is a fantastic series, only seen the first part but it had me worried about Pacman’s camp with a couple of idiots fighting over who’ll corner him and the obvious distraction of the typhoons, luckily Cotto’s camp looks poor. I can’t believe that he brought along that fat guy, manager or not, for the biggest fight of his career. Not seen Countdown yet, though all of those shows get me excited for the card no matter who’s fighting.

Paquiao is not conquering a seventh division, he is fighting 2 pounds under the division limit, which actually makes super-lightweight fight. The WBO should not even be putting the belt on the line since this is catch weight, but how can boxing survive without having an excuse for a 12 round main event.

Don’t get me wrong nnr I think pacman is awesome but I gotta stick with my favourites. Pity it happens that pacman has beaten a few of my favourites over the years. Morales, barrera and hatton……hope that trend ends on sat night. I gotta agree with u on the bisping fight too, I see him struggling from now on. I actually think this is too big a step for hardy too, think he is taking too big a risk here taking the swick fight. I remember hardy getting asked about that fight after he beat Davis in Germany and he didn’t seem too keen on it in his answer back then

I just hope vera will throw more strikes. He’s become gun shy recently.

I am really hoping he gets over being the mental midget of late. When he first came on the scene he exuded confidence. Now he just plays thing so safe. He needs to go for broke and remember where his strengths are.

boy, that color scheme doesnt do anything for Randy…I know he is old for a mma fighter but he looks “get off my lawn you little whippersnappers” old in that pic.

Vera has gotten away with some lackluster performances. Either Randy brings out the best in him or he’s in for a rough night. Kinda would like to see Randy take it to him.
I like Hardy as a fighter but still not sure why he’s getting the shot at #1 contender. For that reason alone, I think I am pulling for Swick. Hoping for a good fight there.

Why come on here a whine n bitch n tell me u won’t watch? Ur not gonna watch cause ur ‘such a fan’ but. Have time to come on here and complain? What a waste of time. If ur not watching the fights why you commenting on the forums? True fans understand that fights make fights. & just cause Brock isn’t defending his title, & GSP isn’t superfighting spider, doesn’t mean these fights won’t end up with a huge KO or a great slugfest. But ur gonna miss it cause its FREE?
Ya too rich for my blood! Can’t afford free! Lol bet you’ll just be playing world of warcraft anyways. Ha ha
