She should fight Gina before she fights Cyborg IMO. She hasn’t really proved much so far.. considering her fight wasn’t even televised.

I like Gina as a person, but with all due respect, she’s the most overrated fighter in the history of the sport. Every fight in her short career was against significantly smaller girls. As soon as she faced someone her own size, she got trounced. What’s more, she never beat any of the top girls. Then consider that she has only made weight one time two times in her career (first and last fight), and the fact that again, with only about 2 exceptions, all those girls were coming off losses…usually several! But the average fan has no clue who these girls are and just assume their the best (which is cute if you know anything about women’s mma). It all points to the ugly truth…Gina is a pretty girl who is very VERY easy to market. A good fighter, but not 5% of her reputation. Erin Toughill will promptly wipe the floor with Cyborg when she takes the ring (she was supposed to be in this fight but had to pull out). Gina isn’t even in Erin’s league. So I think the far more experience and far more accomplished Marloes does not need to fight a girl who made a career out of fighting maybe 2 decent fighters and a bunch of cans during their losing streaks. Contrary to her reputation, Gina has a lot to prove. I realize many would say I didn’t know what I was talking about and blah blah blah because Gina is so popular. I DO know what I’m talking about and that’s why I’m not programed by a media machine. Gina’s a good fighter, yes, but she’s just simply not all that and there are a host of women who would just love to prove the fact.

I quote the much higher ranked Tara LaRosa, She is currently walking around at 191 lbs. I’m not making fun of her weight, I’m just saying what serious athlete who competes at 140 lbs, compromises their health, and their professional career by being so careless? She’s not one of us, she isn’t dedicated to a higher level of athleticism… she doesn’t even train between fights, to work on the weak points of her game."

If Gina wins a fight or two, she can challenge the more accomplished Marloes, a woman who doesn’t make her name by beating up a few girls on losing streaks in weight classes 1 to 2 levels lower. By the way…women’s weight classes are 135 and 145. EXC made a “special” weight division for Gina at the mysterious 140 pound mark. Then they got women who normally fight at 135 and yes…125 to fight Gina. But…Gina never once made 140 for EXC. Typically she hit around 145. Look it up if you don’t believe me. Gina never fought the girls in her weight class until her fight at Srikeforce against Cyborg. Even Cyborg was multiple weight classes above Hitomi Akano when they fought. The Gina/Cyborg fight was horribly sloppy from both girls. Erin is on the way. Sign Tara and the greatest women’s fighter of them all (Megumi Fujii) and then we’ll have something to talk about.

Her career speaks for itself. She’s a 10 yr vet, 16-3 with losses to Erin Toughill who’s also a contender and Roxy which she just avenged. 3rd loss was from a debuting fighter named Cindy Dandois but she got Tibau’d the whole fight with TDs and nothing else. Sick grappling – placed 3rd in ADCC twice. Trains at Golden Glory with the best kickboxers in the world. It’s gina who hasn’t proven anything compared to her. Marloes probly has the best shot at finishing Cyborg out of all the girls in Strikeforce.

Sara Kauffman should go up in weight and fight Cyborg

She’s got the technical skills IMO but i think the size difference is too much. Sarah is small but solid and bulky at 135. Cyborg is massive even for 145.

“i have this this philosophy, when you step into the ring-you step into the ring. you dont complain….BUT I was sick, vomiting, no energy, 7-8 year medical condition.”

So what part of dont complain is your philosophy?

well, to be fair, hawani was pressuring her to explain why she lost a split to Modaferri a few years ago and dominated her saturday night.
