i don’t care where hendo signs, strikeforce has a few opponents and dan only has a few fights left before his old body is done. i just want to see him fight!

I want to see Hendo vs. MOusasi

by john G on Nov 7, 2009 8:16 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

JH said he spoke to Coker who said Hendo has not yet signed.

Lets be honest, we all expect Hendo to sign…
this is what Dana had to say:

Dana White says, “I guarantee you 1,000 percent that Dan Henderson is signed by Strikeforce. Dan and I have been friends and we will continue to be friends, but it just didn’t work out and he went to Strikeforce.”

If I had to guess, I would say that Hendo will be announced tonight, as will Arlovski and Lashly. Thats my Hypothesis. Hendo will probably booked to Bang with mOusasi, and I can see Arlovski/Lashly being paired up…Like I said, I am just speculating hear so dont hold me to this.

or Hendo could just be there to support his boy, sokoudjou… We shoud learn a lot tonight!

Mania, you should ban any blogger from ever visiting this site, if they watch the UFC pathetic attempt at stealing sF limelight by airing old fights instead of watching SF live! lol

Is the shogun/Machida fight airing on spike tonight, Dana your counterprogramming crap doesnt work on me, but I will be happy as hell to dvr the UFC main events! My DVR thanks you Dana!

FYI: they are reporting that Shogun/Machida did close to 500,000 ppv buys…Not bad for a card featuring 2 Brazilians and NO co-main event. -BE

I want to see Hendo vs Nate. Then Mousasi vs whoever is the UFC LHW champ when he signs with the UFC next year. Mousasi will destroy everybody Strikeforce puts in front of him.

by BNF on Nov 7, 2009 10:59 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Personally, I think Dana’s not signing Dan to protect Anderson Silva. I know Hendo would probably need to fight Nate first before earning a rematch, but based off their respective performances against Anderson, I think it’s pretty clear who’s the greater threat. I just don’t see any other reason why the UFC wouldn’t want to contract Henderson… He’s both a draw and a company man.

by just some dong on Nov 7, 2009 2:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

What kind of company man asks to be paid almost as much as the top guys, when not really doing anything to earn a raise? He says he wasn’t asking for as much money as GSP or Brock, but he probably wasn’t asking for much less than them. He is not a draw, not in the least bit. He has some fans, but not enough to affect the PPV numbers. If Dan leaves it will be business as usual at the UFC, no changes to PPV numbers because he signed with them, and no change in PPV numbers because of him leaving.

LISTEN UP, all you Dana White nuthuggers who believe everything that comes out of DWs mouth! Dana says Dan is definitely 1000% signed with Strikeforce, but he’s 1000% DEAD WRONG!!! Dana said Dan was “Definitely getting the next shot against Anderson” and then renegged. With all the bullshit Dana feeds you, why do still blindly take his word on what fighters are paid, what he’s offered them, or what was said behind closed doors. Dana is a pure-bred spin doctor!!! Stop taking the “blue pill,” you frakkin toasters!

by shonuff on Nov 7, 2009 8:53 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i dont know why anyone makes these anti-dana statements still. the people out there who hate dana will whine about everything he does. if you wiped you ass back to front and found out he wipes it front to back you would probably whine about that too. like all people he does some good and some bad, the diffrence is hes in public alot so we see it all. i just read that when efrain passed out and they cancelled his last match that he paid both fighters salaries and win bonuses anyways. is that an asshole move? wheres the hate on that? do you know about that stuff or are you only seeing what you want to see and be cool by being angry and negative?

by Egads on Nov 7, 2009 10:50 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Can anyone produce a link to an article or video where Dana actually said that Henderson would get a title shot for beating Bisping? I only remember Dana saying that Bisping would get the shot if he won – not the other way around. I think a lot of people are just inferring that, since Bisping stood to get a title shot, then so should Henderson. That does make sense, but I don’t recall Dana ever actually saying that. I could be wrong, but if he didn’t say it, then he’s not a liar.

by just some dong on Nov 7, 2009 2:34 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, lets see the evidence because I don’t remember either. It makes sense too. If Bisping could beat Hendo he deserves a huge reward. If Hendo beats Bisping, it is like WHHOOOPPP DEEE DOOO, you are suppose to win against a guy who shouldn’t be in the top 30, what do you want a medal??? You just won your warm-up fight to a real challenge.

Hendo is stupid, ask for a little less money, finish your career at the top in the ufc :)

come on Dan – get the deal done with the UFC!! Loads of great fights at 185 and 205 there!
185 – Marquardt, Wandi 3, A Silva
205 – Tito, Griffin, T Silva, Shogun etc…

… only 1 fight at strikeforce (Mousasi)

by DanP on Nov 7, 2009 3:09 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Only 1 fight at Strikeforce? Beside Mousasi we have: Shields, Jacare, Lawler, King Mo, Diaz. Henderson against any of these would be a great fight.

by Ullan on Nov 7, 2009 3:38 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Ullan are you being for real with those suggestions? King Mo is not on that level. Shields??? he’s little as hell compared to Hendo…so is Diaz…natural 170 lb.ers. I’ll give you Lawler and thats it. And Lawler stands no realistic chance.

by RedDog on Nov 7, 2009 6:03 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Right Red Dog. Dan wants to fight at 205 unless it’s against A. Silva for the MW title. So for SF, it’s Mousasi and Babalu and that’s about the end of it.

by PW on Nov 7, 2009 9:13 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Dana white dont want to pay him thats all there is to it…Dan wont be fighting more then 4 times and im sure he will be calling it quits then hes pretty old as it is and does not have a ton of time left. Dana should stop being a bitch and give him abit more money im 10000000%sure Hendo is not asking for Brock Lesnar or Randy Couture money(just trying to get closer to it).

by Khaos_Warrior on Nov 7, 2009 3:48 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Hendo like Randy did, needs to get over himself

by Robert(1) on Nov 7, 2009 7:12 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah. Because you have all the information. I think you need to get over yourself. He’s standing up for himself and I dont see the problem in that. I don’t think he’s asking for too much. The question is… With that resume, why isn’t he paid more? (And for the record, I don’t think anyone deserves the money they make. I see no logic). But don’t blame Hendo for that.

by Peter on Nov 7, 2009 8:40 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Athletes generate millions of dollars for their respective organizations, so they deserve a cut commensurate to what they bring in. As for Henderson or any other athlete, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay, not a cent more.

by PW on Nov 7, 2009 9:16 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Hendo should just go to Strikeforce and get it over with. We will still get to see him fight, who cares what banner it is under. I want to see him fight Mousasi seeing as how SF currently has no LHW fighters to contend for his belt.

by jay on Nov 7, 2009 10:08 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Hendo by his own words said it was money

by Robert(1) on Nov 7, 2009 10:09 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Your moderation on this site is ridiculous.

by jay on Nov 7, 2009 10:09 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

The odd thing is Khaos, who would argue that Henderson isn’t worth big money? The guy’s a solid draw. He’s exciting to watch and can headline any PPV because he can hang with the best in two weight classes. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like the UFC just doesn’t want Dan around, for fear that he’ll actually beat their ace 185er.

by just some dong on Nov 7, 2009 2:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i love hendo so much… seriously…

by holyintellect on Nov 7, 2009 6:03 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeap. Classy guy and tough as hell. Only wants to fight the best, win or lose. I respect Hendo and DW for basically holding true to how they feel. Hendo feels he deserves a significant raise (how much? we don’t know). And Dana feels he is not worth that. Pretty simple business stalemate. The difficulty in paying Henderson what he is asking is that then you set a standard for a certain level of pay for your top fighters. It isn’t just about Henderson and I think the UFC is correct to hold their ground.

by Adam T. on Nov 7, 2009 11:03 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

agreed…. toughest guy i think IMO…. what i would do to do a greco roman classwith him

Hendo is da man

by UFC News on Nov 7, 2009 8:17 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Who cares really? He’s getting old, 2-3 fights left in him at best. He already had 2 title shots in 2 different weight classes and he lost both decisively. It’s not like he’s any younger or any better for that matter.

by Wes on Nov 7, 2009 8:38 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I don’t agree. I saw Henderson looking better than ever against Bisping. I think he would give Silva a run for his money in a rematch and I think he’s the biggest potential threat to Anderson right now at 185.

by just some dong on Nov 7, 2009 2:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Agree and disagree. He might be the biggest threat to AS in the MW division. But he wouldn’t win a rematch, and it wouldn’t be close.

by jay on Nov 7, 2009 2:46 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

hendos conditioning i think looked REALLY good against bisping which wasnt there the previous fights… t o where it used to be the level he was at. i dont we didnt get to see his conditioning get tested but he looked full and not flat like he did in previous fights… he dialed in

by holyintellect on Nov 7, 2009 5:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

i truly enjoy watching him fight, w/l/d…, it would suck if he wasnt in octagon, but i would like to see him fight gegard

Strikeforce has one light heavyweight, one! Mousasi that’s it. Why does he deserve more than $250,000 per fight. He’s had two big fights in the UFC and lost both of them. In fact, it could be argued that he didn’t even beat Franklin for God’s sake. Dude needs to get over himself. He’s had one exciting fight in the UFC, the Bisping fight. One knockout and all of a sudden he’s God’s gift to MMA. Whatever, go to paper thin Strikeforce and win a belt that means nothing.

by Josh H. on Nov 7, 2009 9:59 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

That fight wasn’t even good. Dan just kept walking toward him throwing the exact same punch over and over. Sure it worked, but it wasn’t exciting until it finally connected.

by jay on Nov 7, 2009 10:11 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

It’s funny how some fans act like spurned girlfriends when a fighter decides to leave for another organization: whatever! X fighter sucks/is old/is overrated/is boring!

As for Strikeforce, adding Henderson builds some legitimacy, but for a while there, it looked as if they were building a roster of fighters that specialized in exciting battles that would appeal to mainstream fans — that is, guys like Lawler, Diaz, Le, Smith, Rogers, who like to keep it on the feet and slug it out. Or guys with charisma like Miller and King Mo. Henderson does not exactly fit either of those molds and he doesn’t have the mystique of someone like Fedor, so I’m not exactly sure what Strikeforce is trying to accomplish except sticking it to Dana.

by Pantherhare on Nov 7, 2009 12:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Well maybe Strikeforce just wanna sign great fighters. And yea stick it to Dana. Because it’s a business competition.

Dan Henderson unemployed, sad. Get this hero a fu**ing contract now!!!

truth brother!!!!

by holyintellect on Nov 7, 2009 5:11 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I can’t picture Strikeforce being able to offer him the same kind of money he was getting paid while in the UFC, yet he still wanted more money. With that being said, it kind of seems like Hendo is screwing himself over for taking less money from organizations who can’t afford him.
