As a fan of crappy movies, I truly want to see this. I hope Big Show can act the part of the goofball that he already looks.

lets just hope he doesn’t go full retard

If he goes full retard, he won’t be getting the Oscar nod! They frown on that! Lol

Okay guys I need ur help….
If the Big Show trained MMA would he be able to be a contender? I said no, getting punched in the face by trained fighters is a different animal then just being big and strong, but 2 of my friends insisted at a weight of 500 plus he would give Fedor fits and beat Brock
what do you guys say?

by Robert(1) on Nov 3, 2009 5:45 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

he wud maybe ko gaydor, but im sure brock wud give him trouble with his wrestling..

by guyverbob on Nov 3, 2009 6:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I have said for a long time, he would be GREAT in the octagon. He is 7’2", 500 lds, and one of the strongest dudes on the planet… You could hit him 5 times with a brick and he may take it. If you could even take him down, good luck holding him there. He could bench-press any HW out there.. I am the biggest BROCKLOVER out there but no-one could stop The Big Show!! To bad there is a weight limit.

by iagoof22 on Nov 3, 2009 8:13 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

size and strength have NOTHING to do with how you can take a punch… look at Arlovski. He would get KO’d in a sec by any legit HW

by ---Caesar--- on Nov 3, 2009 9:06 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Emmanuel Yarborough was a Sumo Wrestler 6 ‘8’ 600 Lbs
Choi Hong-Man was a kickboxer 7 ‘2’ 320 lbs

These guys are huge but don’t have the mobility or skill to be good, perhaps if they were better trained in MMA they could use their size advantage to win.

by DAVE A on Nov 4, 2009 2:38 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

bigger they are hadder they fall, lesner is plenty strong enough to scoop him up and drop him on his head, but he would be hard to stop, for most other hw fighters.

by Blazy J on Nov 3, 2009 6:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

His size alone would beat a lot of dudes. Brock is still strong enough to take him down and pound him out. Fedor probably as well. Submission guys would have no chance against him because he is just too big. But he’s also a lumbering oaf.

by PW on Nov 3, 2009 6:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

plus he couldn’t make 265 to save his life. Dream would be the place for “the big show”.

does anyone remember when he was called “the giant” back in wcw and they seemed to play him off as andre the giants’s son when he feuded with hulk hogan?

by j.b. on Nov 3, 2009 6:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

forget about the weight limit….just the way he is

by Robert(1) on Nov 3, 2009 6:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

JB I remember that, that was back around the time when you could throw Show off a building and he’d still come out to wrestle on the same night. Man WCW was dreadful in those days.

Robert, Show was supposed to be training to be a boxer but changed his mind and went back to wrestling. He eats far too much for a professional athlete and has no self control over his weight, plus the years of abuse from wrestling and giantism have wrecked his body so he won’t be able to fight competetively, not to mention he doesn’t have any real martial arts background. He’d be just be a Japanese freakshow like Sapp, Choi and Giant Silva.

why do people choke with the one arm in… isnt a choke more effective with no arms in and just pure choke on the neck??? i hope this movie doesnt make MMA look crap like WWE..

by phat_E on Nov 3, 2009 3:14 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

that and his feet are crossed. Good way to have your ankle broken.

by Brox on Nov 3, 2009 3:17 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

How so?

by OJR Is King (formerly Introvert) on Nov 3, 2009 3:55 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

if the person being choke can get his legs in the right position on the person choking him if his legs are crossed then the person can apply pressure and use leverage to apply a realllly painful anklelock. its hard to explain in writing

by brendog on Nov 3, 2009 4:40 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

truth!! after the first time some one puts you in it, you’ll never do it again. it’s like you figure 4 your legs over their crossed legs and push with your hips.

by Blazy J on Nov 3, 2009 6:07 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

The arm in choke is called Kata Hajime(sp?) in Judo. It’s more effective with a gi but can work without one, and as far as I know is banned from use in competition.

by cheshirewulf on Nov 3, 2009 3:29 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I’d think it be as effective, depending on how strong you are. I would compare it to BJ’s rear naked choke were he traps the arm with a leg, this way you take a way one of your opponent’s arms.

by fmx on Nov 3, 2009 3:46 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

This movie should really appeal to the WWE fanbase – they’re all pretty much brain dead orphans too.

by Drake_Labatt on Nov 3, 2009 3:55 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

That’s 50% of the MMA audience now, too…don’t kid yourself. Where do you think the extra PPV numbers from Crock Lesnar’s come from.

by OJR Is King (formerly Introvert) on Nov 3, 2009 3:57 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

exactly

by Jared on Nov 3, 2009 4:15 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

MMA and Wrestling have had a lot in common before Lesnar stepped on the scene. The hysteria and disdain for wrestling by mma fans is hilarious, seeing as mma has taken so many aspects from wrestling.

To the UFC using WWE’S business model, to even Dana trying to be like the character of Mr. McMahon. Also the hype that get’s all you people interested in fights is taken right from wrestling and you buy that sh*t every time. One of the events that kept UFC going in dire times was UFC 40, headlined by a professional wrestler in Ken Shamrock not to mention all the hype that went along with it.

Your beloved PRIDE was kick started with the help of a popular wrestler (Takada) and of course the likes of Sakuraba who was one of the biggest draws also a pro wrestler.

Now the MMA’s biggest star of current use to be a pro wrestler, golly. And whether you like it or not, fact is it’s what is making this sport popular and keep going. If you have a problem with the success of this sport than you’re really not a fan, if you don’t see that pro wrestling is deeply rooted into the sports fabric and has helped build it than that shows just how little you know about the sport you claim to be a “fan” of.

proving that MMA fans are the white skinheads that bob arum talked about.

by dan on Nov 3, 2009 5:12 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

They are.

The happiest person in the world when a camera pans a UFC audience is the owner of Gillette.

by OJR Is King (formerly Introvert) on Nov 3, 2009 6:09 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

The audience pans always make me cringe. It’s not just the UFC audience though, the SF, Elite and Affliction audiences are all just as bad. They always seem to film some bimbos and some drunk guy, then they yell at the camera like they think it’s cool. Then again boxing audiences also act like that, at least in the UK.

by David W-S on Nov 3, 2009 7:53 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

If you don’t tear up just a little when Hogan’s little brother wiggles his finger while he’s sitting in the wheelchair and inspires Hogan to come back and beat Zeus then you’re just not human.

by El Mexicutioner, Formerly The Mexicutioner on Nov 3, 2009 6:44 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Any Hogan film sucks balls, all of the scripts are laughable and the guy can’t act. What’s even worse is that WWF actually had Tiny Lister wrestle Hogan as Zeus to promote that stupid film.

Pretty much except Austin wasn’t retarded.

by David W-S on Nov 3, 2009 7:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

What a freakin joke this is! Its WWE’s way of trying to make MMA look stupid and worthless! If they really wanted to make the film look decent, they would have put a REAL MMA guy in it, not a no acting talent bum like Paul. (I can say that cuz he tried to play basketball in my same state of Kansas). Vince needs to keep his fake boys faking it in the ring and off of the big screen…oh wait…his last attempt didnt even hit the big screen!! straight to dvd it went!
But what am I thinkin here, WWE wouldnt have been able to get a real MMA guy to do this, because they actually have talent!

Vince, keep your boys out of our yard! They cant hang…even if they try to fake it! But if you really think they have talent, put em in the octagon!

My prediction…the film costs $37211.00 to make (most of that being spent on catering for Show) and rakes in a whoppin $319 (most of which comes from MMA fans waiting 3 weeks for it to hit the 99 cent bin at walmart just in time for Christmas so we can get a lovely gift for all the WWE boys out there on our shopping list…cuz we care just enough to send the very best that WWE has to offer).

by brayndeded on Nov 3, 2009 8:59 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

This film is a lot better than the “UFC films” for example Never Surrender, staring five UFC Fighters (Rampage, GSP, Spider, Heath, BJ) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307989/

by Rebel664 on Nov 4, 2009 1:39 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

What a strange movie script and weird casting. I’ll probably end up watching this out of curiousity hehe.
On an actual MMA level, I think Big Show’s conditioning would be complete garbage if he was a legit fighter.
