Werdum I’m sure is going to mop up big foot. I think he should of never been released for the UFC. I think after a few key wins like when he finally beats Overeem he’ll be back.

Good thing He’s getting some serious wrestling trainers in there with him like King Mo and Daniel Cormier, because he may have some of the best clinch takedowns in MMA and BJJ but the man can’t shoot to save his life.

i still think bigfoot is goin to walk through him…hes just so big and i think he isnt just a big guy but also is quick as hell…after watching his earlier fights in elite xc hes a great fighter…he kinda looked like shit against ricco rodriquez but i think he was battling a knee injury…this dude is quick…and werdum is going to have a hard time walking through him for a submission….i dont see him subbing bigfoot and i sure as HELL dont see him ko’ing bigfoot…

i see bigfoot winning this fight pretty easily

This is a very interesting match up to me. Maybe its because I am one of the few people on this site that realize how tough Fabricio is. The guy has some serious skills. Take away the fights against Arlovski and JDS and he has had a stellar career beating all kinds of top fighters. No shame in his loss to Nogueira which was an absolute war in which Nog gave him a lesson in positional mma ju jitsu. Via Cavallo’s striking is under rated. If you can TKO gonzaga twice, then you are a capable striker. Werdum has had a short career in mma, but he jumped right into the deep end fighting al kinds of top fighters, beating most of them: Nog,Arlovski,JDS,Aleks,Gonzaga,Vera,Sergie, alistar. Weather you bloggers want to realize it or not, Fabricio is a top HW who should have NEVER been cut by the UFC.

I have a very hard time predicting this fight. Thats what makes it a great match up. What I lilike about this fight is that its a tough grueling fighht in whih the winner will deserve to move ahead in the rankings. After this fight fabricio will either emerge as a legit competitor to Fedor and Alistar (which I alreday know he is)…or it will be Bigfoots cocming out party…Not really sure which way to go, but when a fight is this cose, and the Doog has such a huge upside, then I gotta take the Dog! I am a huge werdum fan, but my money will be on Silva!

Agreed john. Werdum is highly underrated if you ask me. This is where i think people began to seriously hate on him. People just developed a bad image of him after that Dana vlog followed by the JDS ko. I don’t particularly believe that his showing up out of shape really affected the fight. It was early so he had energy, he did have some success with leg kicks. He was setting up takedowns from the clinch. He never showed cat like athleticism in his career so no noticeable changes in speed. What happened in that fight was simply a technical error. The man ducks his head after exchanges so there is no way in hell he can see things that are happening. As much as all that unnecessary gain weight might look to blame, to me it was simply an adept striker exposing a rather simple one.

Props to Showtime and SF for a really well produced countdown show to Fedor/Grim. I thought it was better then any UFC countdown show. Getting Focking PUMPED for this weekend. Unfortunately, because Fedor is the most hated fighter alive and the world is dying for him to lose so they can all bash the fock out of him, I dont really get to enjoy his fights. I am a nervous wreck when he fights. I dont think I can handle the day after a Fedor loss on this site, THe trolling would reach an all-time high around here and I wouldnt be able to stomach such a nice, humble and deserving man getting crucified on this site. As if 1 loss in a stellar career will really have that big f an impact on his legacy! when Fedor finally losses, which he and I bothh know that he will, his record will be around 35-1. The haters will still be pressed to find anyone with a better record, but they will sadly finaly feel that their trolling is justified. Silly, delusional Haters!

People need to realize that Grim is a good and very capable fighter. win or lose, he could easily compete at the top level of the UFC’s HW division. He would just struggle with HUge wrestlers, and there arent too many of those around!

For example: anyone really feel confident in saying that Aistar would destroy him? I dont! Alistar is light years ahead of him technically, but toughness and Raw power has over come technique in the past. Its not unprecedented!

Win or lose, I look forward to seeing the Grimm in future big fights!

Bigfoot/Grim would be a strikers version of Carwin/Brock! I would love to see it!

SF emerging as a legit USA based competitor to the UFC is very exciting to me, especially since the alliance with DREAM. That alliance will finally bring the top fighters from Japan over to American soil and into a cage…something that the UFC couldnt get done for the fans in the past! Hell UFC bought Pride, and still couldnt bring over many of its superstars. My heart PUMPS UFC BLOOD, but I am very excited at what SF is doing, especially since I know they wont fold anytime soon the way affliction did. The competition is great! and the winner is…..MMA FANS!

Dana with a monopoly is a very dangerous thing! SF emerging, is a good checks and balance system that wil keep Dana from totally becoming the dictator of mma, which I feel would be a dangerous thing! Just ask Introvert if you dont believe me!

Youre so wrong its not even funny.

Rogers is a bum and it will show on saturday.

And yes im extremely confident that Overeem would finish him in seconds.

by Lester The Pimp on Nov 4, 2009 9:18 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

How does being undefeated with a win over Arlovski make you a bum?

by frosnt on Nov 4, 2009 9:33 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Rogers has good stand up striking thats all we know for sure being a big man it will take a lot to get him on the ground and out of his element. How hard will it be for Fedor to get the big man down? If on the ground will rogers have any chance? Will Fedor have a similar gameplan? There is a lot of questions in this fight that make it intrigueing and you can be right partially right Rogers is jumping in the deep end with a shark. But he is a up and coming fighter with great size and the first young fighter with talent Fedor has faced. Most likely Rogers is going to make a mistake early and Fedor will pounce on his mistake and the fight will be over faster than it started but if Rogers can fight a smart fight and not get to aggressive he can at least make it a fight.

Lester is right… Grim is a sloppy Bum and Overeem would annihilated him in the 1st round, no doubt.

by Alpha Male on Nov 4, 2009 10:57 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Grim’s a beast with as good a record as Carwin and coming off a huge KO win over AA, he’ll be a threat to Fedor and could rock him like Fujita. Nobody is going to smash a guy with his size and punching power, including Overroids and Fedor.

Werdum is a good fighter but really annoyed me by taking JDS lightly and turning up flabby, it was disrespectful to a talented opponent and he deservedly got beat. His contract demands were OTT so on that basis he deserved to get cut, though talent wise he should still be in the UFC especially as the HW division is thin and Vera and Gabe are still on the roster. His striking technique still needs improving, but he’s a threat to anyone on the ground and the Silva fight should be the most competetive of the lot on this card.

Let me just say damnnn he got his shit busted!!!! This matchup is freaken sick not sure if im more excited for Gegard vs Soku or this one!

by Khaos_Warrior on Nov 4, 2009 1:06 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah this is a really interesting matchup. It will be better than the Gegard fight because it will be a lot more competitive . Gegard will smash Soko easily. Still looking forward to it though.

by Ca$z on Nov 4, 2009 6:57 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Gegard mighht decide that he wants to stand with Soko. if thats the case, we could see a great fight. If MOusasi wants to take him down, it will be over quickly but MOusasi is confident enough in his stand up that he wont be desperately shooting for takedowns left and right! Could be a good fight, or a grapplilng domination.

by john G on Nov 4, 2009 8:37 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I hope Gegard goes for the takedown, as good as he is standing I don’t want him to get overconfident and try to trade punches with Soko because he could risk getting KO’d, I’d rather see him dominate Soko on the ground and prove once again that you don’t get anywhere in MMA if you have no grappling skills. I like to see fighters fight to their strengths and their opponents weaknesses, so I want Gegard to get the takedown and a quick submission. He is the real deal, no need for him to fight to his opponents strength that’s a Gurgel tactic.

by David W-S on Nov 4, 2009 11:02 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Gegard is no slouch on his feet David. He fought Musashi in k-1 before and he’s working his boxing to go on the professional level too.

by Alpha Male on Nov 4, 2009 12:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

In David’s defence I’m sure he knows gegard is no slouch on the feet. That goes without saying. What he’s saying is soko is not very good with grappling or ground work and is still a threat with his heavy hands, so its in gegards best interest to take it down and work where soko is out of his element, rather than risk a ko by competing where soko is most comfortable, even tho gegard would fare very well there as well.

I’m telling you guys, watch out for STRIKEFORCE & Dream. Their on their ways up. & these recent debacles @ UFC w/ every1 leaving or getting hurt are only helping & are perfect timing. Plus Dana is awful for his kimbo and tuf season praises & hendo/page/huerta situations.

I am now 40%UFC fan
30% strikeforce
30% Dream.

Trust me, year or 2 ago, I was 80%UFC.

Its starting to wear on me man. And dream’s production level is light years ahead of UFC
