I don’t think he got robbed at all….. I just think people are getting crazy about the decision because it was a UD instead of a Split Decision – Machida is still the man

Wow. ScissorSweep with a sober comment that makes sense.
That is strange on this site. I need to hear more people screaming how the UFC is fixed and Shogun won 5 rounds to zero and how the world is coming to an end.

It’s funny, if you read all the threads post fight, I said the same thing and that I felt Shogun 48-47 but in a super close fight. Then on ESPN mma show Rashad and Kenflo said the same thing. Close fight, prob Shogun but close.
Everyone on here says “ROBBERY” etc. because they know nothing about fights. Round 1 and 2 were super close. I gave to the champ but they were CLOSE, by no means should everyone say that Shogun clearly won 1 and 2.

Everything has to be black and white, didn’t you know? Its either win or lose, close doesn’t count for anything. I totally agree that its being blown out of proportion and that it was a close split that could have went either way but looked like it should have been Rua. Glad for all the controversy tho cause now we get a rematch that can’t only be better.

Exactly I think the 2nd fight will awsome I can’t wait to see each one’s gameplan for the next I feel machida will put all doubt past all these critics in the 2nd fight.
by Puck Head on Nov 2, 2009 11:23 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I agree, fight was close, but next time its going to be like bj fighting gsp second time around, machida will become much more dominant, and fix any holes he has, which isnt many. On the other hand shogun is as good as he is going to get, machida is much more talented, and will work with superior training partners like anderson, to avoid any kicks, and outkick shogun also. SHOGUN you had your chance, youll never have a close fight again with machida, just like bj penn will never have one with gsp

To me it looked like Machida won the 1st 3 rounds of the fight and Shogun took the last 2 rounds. All he did was kick his legs, I mean how do you win a fight doing that?
by bobby on Nov 2, 2009 7:35 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Let Shogun kick you in the leg once and tell me how that feels.
by Buster Bluth on Nov 2, 2009 8:26 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Bobby: if all Shogun did was kick legs…then all Machida did was land punches to shogun’s forearms.
shogun’s defense was amazing. Combine that with his Iron chin, and he wont ever be Ko’ed!
Shogun is Champion, Machida is getting an immediate rematch!
Even bruce Buffer did want to announce Machida as the winner. Thats why he didnt say “and still champion” when announing the BS decision.
TO me, that wAS the worst moment in UFC history. It made a prestigous title totally irrelevant. and the UFC should be better then that!

John – the fn lines for Strikeforce are god damn out of line. They got Mayhem at +235 and BigFoot at +135-140. I need advice single or parlay? I know mayhem is gonna win so it’s all about the bigfoot pick. Value wise it’s there but i don’t want to risk the value on mayhem even though the multiplier would be sick especially if they put out lines on the Roxy-Marloes fight.
by NameNotRequired on Nov 2, 2009 9:15 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I would go for it. You got more chance to be upset with Mayhem than by BigFoot IMO. Werdum got only 1 way to win this fight and I don’t see him strong enough to sub “Junior” who’s got a top notch ground game himself.
I’ll go with 2 singles and 1 parlay if I were you. Better be safe than sorry. I got my money on BigFoot too. Mayhem got a great chance of winning. I don’t think that Shields can catch him in a sub, but you never know, maybe Jake did learn to strike in the past months and will dominate the stand up. Unlikely to occur, but nonetheless a possibility.
by Alpha Male on Nov 2, 2009 10:13 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Obviously I really believe that both gonna win that’s why I was saying that, but if you’re not sure just go with your single on Mayhem.
by Alpha Male on Nov 2, 2009 10:22 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You’ve convinced me Alpha. Thanks for the tip. Yea i don’t think Jake’s striking will ever be anything. He got outstruck by a bully for christ sake. With the werdum fight, if BigFoot can maintain distance i think he’s got it in the bag. Werdum’s clinch takedowns are probly some of the best in MMA and BJJ but he can’t shoot TDs to save his life. I think i’ll do exactly what you said with the 2 singles and 1 parlay.

I love the Bigfoot/Mayhem parlay! Im taking the parlay as well as both of them straight because I am positive that both wont lose. I havent even looked at the odds yet. Whats mOusasi’s odds?

yes but forest litterally took pages leg out in the third (may have been 2nd it’s been a few since i watched that fight) and was in a dominate position for the entire round , comparing these two fights is stupid!! Machida got a close decision i don’t agree with the UD a split would have been more acceptable i think, but non the less he is the champ and guess what we get to see a rematch, i predict much like anderson silva was, machida will be boo’ed , then when he ko’s shogun impressivly everyone will be all happy and say yay i love machida yada yada yada

this re-match sucks man!!
i HATE to still be talking about this but news has been SLOW today to say the least…
but back to why i don’t like this re-match (although i’m aware there is no other alternative)
Shogun won the fight plain and simple. This re-match allows Machida to analyze all of the footage from the first fight, meaning Shogun won’t have the element of surprise like he did when they fought the first time.
That was a HUGE factor in the fight because Machida had no idea Shogun would come out and attack the legs like he did, and it clearly focked Machida up. Now what??? that was about the best game plan you can come up with and it was wasted on ref decision.
This re-match benefits Machida a lot more than people think.
by Blunt N' Beer on Nov 1, 2009 11:20 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
SHOGUN WINS!!!!! NEW CHAMPION…..hold on there would still be a rematch either way because of the 5 round fight. This gives machida to analyze the fight and improve…THE END. your comment is useless man. YES machida won the fight in Decision however in a bigger spectrum SHOGUN won so many fans and respect as well …machida has gone down the drain…he is not feared anymore.
On paper machida won – lost a lot of fans
In reality SHOGUN lost – won a lot of fans/respect as well
who cares who won…fighters fight-fuck the judges. I still know who my fave fighters are its both machida/shogun amongs others.

maybe, but whos to say that shogun wont come in with a totally different game plan? maybe hell come flying out of the gates like he used to instead of picking machida apart from the outside… sure maybe machida can train to check those leg kicks better but thats about it… SHOGUN!!!!
by brendan on Nov 2, 2009 3:00 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
i thought about that too brendan and i really can’t say. I to God he does come out with a slick gameplan…maybe spinning back elbow into a devastating clinch with knees, then a flying omoplata???
no but really war shogun. i hope he kills Machida in the re-match, i’m just saying it’s not cool that his perfect game plan went to waste.

by Jimbob on Nov 2, 2009 11:10 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Well Blunt, it sounds to me that although you are a Shogun fan, you are aknowledging the fact that Machida is a better fighter with your statements about how Shogun can only hope to win with a perfect and unexpected gameplan (i.e. an advantage). So when the playing field is even, you feel like Machida has the advantage? Should we not give the belt to the better fighter? I’ll agree that which one of them that is was not made clear in their last fight, but I have to disagree that a rematch will give any advantages to Machida.

No worries Blunts n Beers! Shogun is the best LHW on Earth and will win thhe rematch!
He has the perfect strategy! NEVER attack! Move forward but wait til Machida attacks and Counter. That wont change, and that gameplan is a stylistic nIghtmare for Machida who has won all his fights by counterpunching. He is a fish out of water when being forced to attack, and he doesnt have enough experience fighting as the aggressor to be effective against Shogun.
Shogun willl win the title. He has everything it takes to beat Machida again, and I dont expect anything less out of the rematch! Not enough people talk about how great Shogun’s defense was. Take away the decision and to me it was one of th greatest fights that I have ever seen in my life. I dont remember a big fight with such strategy involved and I thought it was another masterpiece by shoogun!

your delusional JOHN G. machida has superior footwork, reflexes, timing, handspeed. shogun didnt land a single combo to machidas face, while lyoto did so several time and could have finished of a lesser fighter. machida will evolve way past shogun, correct his mistakes, and improve way more than shogun and sparring with superior partners like anderson silva. shogun will never give machida a close fight again

wow sundvictory you must not have a life, like i said machida will become even more dominant, this close win was the best thing that could have happened to him. Just like the loss to serra to gsp to new heights, this will do the same to machida. I still have no doubt machida is the best LHW on the planet, and like i said the rematch will only reinforce that. Machida never lost a round in the UFC before, this will make him work that much harder, and he is going to be scary good, shogun is as good as he will ever be, like i said reflexes, soeed, footwork, machida has over shogun, along with way better sparring partners like anderson who would massacre shogun. Shogun shoulfnt have even gotten a title shot after losing to griffin, nearly getting beat by a senior citizen, and beating chuck, who has lost 5 of his last 6, and seems to get knocked out evry time someone touches him

by theboydave on Nov 2, 2009 7:00 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I dunno. Watched the fight again and I guess if you were judging who was looking to get a decision then I’d go with Shogun.
Machida didn’t look in trouble during the fight at all, and I don’t think Shogun was looking to finish him.
I think Machida was looking to try knock Shogun out, when he countered he searched for Rua’s chin, and when he set up a strike it was usually to the head.
Having said that, I reckon if Shogun had followed up some of his leg kicks with more strikes he might’ve knocked Machida out.
Machida was baffled though for sure, kept circling and looking to counter but Rua was a bit too smart, answered Machidas leg kicks with even harder ones.
I think Shogun fought a great fight, but, he wasn’t looking to knock Machida out. He came with a game plan and thought it was working, unfortunately the judges didn’t agree.

The judges were correct you can not come in as a challenger and think legs kicks to the lower part of your opponents legs will win you the match. I think Rogan had a lot of money on Shogun.
by USA#1 on Nov 1, 2009 11:43 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
first off yes you can, and second off did you not see the laceration on Machida’s lip?? yea that must have came from those leg kicks. Maybe you should watch the fight before you comment.
IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ROGAN. The crowd booed the result and they didn’t hear one word Rogan said. i hate how people keep bringing that up.

I think you don’t know anything about scoring a fight. Why can’t you come in thinking that? You think Rogan was biased towards Shogun? Then I think the judges were biased towards Machida. Anyway, why would Rogan put money on Shogun? After the Evans fight, Rogan said “welcome to the Machida era”. The fact of the matter is Shogun landed more shots and did way more total damage. Machida may have been looking for the knockout, but he didn’t even come close to getting it. The way the judges scored it, if you swing 300 times at the head and miss, and then take 50 nasty body shots, you still win. Simply put, Shogun fought the smarter fight, and did way more damage than Machida did. I hope Shogun leaves no doubt in the next fight, and Machida gets KTFO’d. Shogun needs to work on his wrestling and get that fight to the ground, where I definitely think he is superior.

Come on Guys, all personal preferences aside, can you honestly say Shogun looked to finish Machida at any point in that fight??
I’m a Machida fan and after 5 rounds I wasn’t 100% sure, but I thought Shogun would get the decision.
Machida looked like he couldn’t figure out what to do with him. One things for sure though, when Machida did attack, he looked for Shoguns chin and wanted to finish the fight.
When Shogun attacked, it was almost like he was goading Machida to open himself up rather than to cause any sort of damage to end the fight.
I think Shogun won the desision, but I can understand the judges thinking behind the scoring, and I don;t think Shogun came to KO Machida. It was close.

The judges were correct- You can not come in as a challenger and throw legs kicks to your opponent’s lower legs and try to win a decision that way.
by Matt on Nov 1, 2009 11:45 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Spot on Matt, when i first watched the fight with a friend I invited over (his second UFC, my 104th)after the fight he said i think your man just lost and i said “mmmmmaaaaaan (scrunching face and shaking head)it really depends on how the judges see it but i gotta say i think Shogun did a lot more work but they say you gotta beat the champ to be the champ, i just don’t know if he did enough work”.
Then the announcement…..i raised my eyebrows and thought jeez…tuff call…..unanimous is a bit of an insult to Shogun, he gave Machida a tuff time.
After over a week of reading the forums i watched it again last night with the sound off, i believe Joe Rogan does a great job and even point out to mates when we watch rival mma event callers that “he aint Joe Rogan” meaning a compliment, Joes job is to keep us informed AND entertained during his call, this time a bit too entertaining i think, i had pen and paper, 2 names, 2 vertical lines, Machida 4 rounds, Shogun the last.
Blogs…ooohhh Machida was icing his legs in the breaks because they were hurting.
Answer..he was doing that at the first break, Shogun didn’t touch them in the 1st, it was 5 round strategy, simple.
Blogs… Machida sustained more damage
Answer…What a load of crap, tell that to GSP who is still recovering while the pitbull is getting ready for his next fight, and who can forget the UFC encounter where the dude got his ribs smashed and was about to be torn apart when he thru a massive uppercut to win the fight while falling down in agony and off to the hospital, the other dude went to work the next day.
Seriously, i suggest everyone calm down and turn off the sound, you may be a little surprised…..i was, Shogun was average when Joe aint screaming your ear telling you he is and dead set, so many kicks missed, Shogun looked busy but really had no impact.
by Davomaniac on Nov 2, 2009 2:08 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
This isn’t boxing. Leg kicks are an accepted and valid a stike as any other strike thrown. Especially when they do as much damage as Shogun inflicted on Machida who remember spent the last couple of rounds limping around the cage like an old man with arthritis.
by MK on Nov 2, 2009 9:08 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Just becuase leg kicks are part of MMAs ruleset doesn’t mean they’ll have EQUAL WEIGHTING in the judges eyes, and this is the important part becuase we don’t know how they weight a punch vs a kick; they could well give more value to the man throwing punches for the simple reason that it might be viewed as going for a ko while leg kicking can never be seen that way
in the end “anyone with a mouth can talk” but whats done is done, it was super close and we’re getting a rematch and personally i cannot wait
by Sawn on Nov 2, 2009 10:36 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I’m sick of hearing about the leg kicks and how people say it doesn’t win you fights. It obviously did a lot more damage than anything Machida hit Shogun with. Wouldn’t you try to take out the legs of an opponent who loves to run around during a fight? It makes pefect sense doesn’t it. Also, to all the dumb people who say Machida’s hand injury is proof that he was hitting Shogun a lot harder than we think knows absolutely nothing about the proper way to throw a punch. You hurt your hand from either A. Throwing a punch wrong B. Hitting the thick part of the forehead C. Getting your punch blocked or D. Drinking too much pee and not enough milk. To all the Machida fans who say Shogun didn’t do enough to win the belt what exactly did Machida do that makes you think he did enough to keep it??
by Kayo on Nov 2, 2009 12:18 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
So you think Shogun tried to finish Machida??
Machida wasn’t running much in the last 2, I don’t remember Shogun closing down the cage and trying to land a strike to end the fight.
Shogun clearly came looking for a decision, and I think he deserved it, but Shogun didn’t come with the perfect gameplan just because he forced Machida to attack 1st and landed leg kicks for 5 rounds.
I’m a Machida fan and I think Shogun was the superior fighter but I don’t like how everyone thinks Shogun put Machida to the sword in that fight.
He didn’t once try to press home his advantage and was happy to stay out of range and pick off leg kicks the entire fight, I can see how a judge might look at that.
Machida didn’t win the fight but watch it again and it looked to me like when he did attack, he was looking to end the fight.

Shogun won the fight. I think the judges need to be re-educated on how to score a MMA fight. I think they judged too many boxing matches and are thinking that they sholud score it the same. Also, if its that close of a round to score, how about calling it a 10-10 round. There are three things that the a MMA fight should be scored on. Effective strikes, agression and Octogon Control. According, to the fight metrics, Shogun was more effective in strikes. Lets just say in the first and second rounds, the strikes were even. Ok. now, who was more aggressive? Shogun. why? because he pushed the pace, went in for the clinch\takedowns, was going forward more.
For all those people who say why didn’t shougun try to finish Machida. Who has ever finished machida? He has never lost a round ever before fighting shogun. Machida is one of the most elusive fighters in MMA. U saw happened when Thiago Silva tried go go in and finish machida. Shogun beat machida at his own game, that is why it was such a great performace.
I guess we will have to wait for the rematch. Props to Shogun, the real Light heavyweight champion.

The very last part of the video is the round that Machida stole(not in my eyes, he lost all rounds from what i saw) by doing that flurry in which he landed like a whooping 2 punches notice at the end of the exchange Shogun cracks Machida (rogan calls out good shot) because it was by far the best punch of the exchange which immediately made Machida clinch up and stop punching.

if you look at Machida’s face in the fourth round when he is defending the takedown you will see that he has no marks on his face

and also is everybody else blind but please tell me that other people re-watched the fight and saw how many times Machida actually blocked or completely dodged Shogun’s kicks and how many times they just grazed him, at least twice I saw that Shoguns toes lifted up Lyotos shorts as Lyoto was backing up which means he didnt even hit his leg or just grazed it with his toes
by 85 on Nov 2, 2009 2:39 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Yeh a lot of them just grazed with his toes or were slipped all together by machida who was moving away from them (less damage)
The toe ones make NASTY sounds though so i guess it looks like a big hit..but theres no way chida took what some people are saying is 48 direct leg hits, i assure you if he took 48 clean leg kicks from a guy like shogun he wouldnt be walking for a while

Im sick of people crying and bitching about this fight, it is what it is, machida won a close decision, and shogun is getting his rematch so shut the f@@k up.

Machida had an early Christmas present. 99% of MMA fans believe he lost.

Shogun Rua – The crybabies’ champion. For real, Shogun has a bunch of crybabies for fans. Get over it. He lost by UNANIMOUS DECISION.

I having been saying for a week now Shogun won but I watched the fight again and..
I admit when I’m wrong which happens frequently….
Shogun beat Machida worse in the last 2 rounds then Machida beat Shogun for the 1st 3….but that’s the problem, Machida won the first 3 rounds, Shogun last 2. Round by round Machida but Shogun gave the bigger beat down.
Also Shogun’s take downs kept getting stuffed by Machida which I always count as defensive points. The problem is Machida won a fight in which Shogun fought his best fight. I’m a Shogun fan and hope for a win next time…So now does Shogun wait around for Machida to get better or does face a top contender?

Shogun vs T.Silva, I think this is a good match up…

Machida! Machida! Machida!
That was a one sided beatdown! Machida annhililated Shogun! Perfect call! Well done by judges to see what real fans also saw, that understand the fight. 3 rounds to 2!
AND STILL LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD…
by Daniel worby on Nov 2, 2009 8:00 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
The only ones who got robbed were the fans. Machida came in totally unprepared and Shogun thought he would just leg kick his way to a win.
by Jonny on Nov 2, 2009 8:05 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Shogun did not win this fight plain and simple.
It was a close fight and Machida won the first three rounds while Shogun won the last two. You do not win the belt by winning the last 2 rounds.
Lyoto is still the champion, Shogun is back, its going to be an epic rematch. Deal with it you fucking crybabies.
by xmcoe on Nov 2, 2009 8:28 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
so stupid to think its only advantagous for machida in a remacth?!! Either way there would be a rematch at some point and prob right away as there are no real challengers at this point except maybe anderson.
I wish u would all stop crying, we get to see two top fighters go at it again and prob another close fight, im certainly not complaining and it certainly wasnt a clear winner in the first fight so a rematch is the right thing!!!!
by mo on Nov 2, 2009 8:32 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Thank you for bringing in some reason. I couldn’t agree more with your statement ‘there was not a clear winner’. And on top of that, we get to see them fight again!!!
All of the ShoGun whiners go stand in the corner over there—->
:D
by dancing fairy on Nov 2, 2009 9:37 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Actually,
Let me re-phrase:
‘I couldn’t agree more’ meaning the fight was very close, and neither totally trumped the other. I posted the morning after the fight, and scored it just like Machida did; 1-3 Machida, 4th toss up, 5th Rua
I think the reason people are so gung-ho about ShoGun’s loss is 1) It was ShoGun 2) A lot of people expected Machida to dominate, and were very impressed with Rua’s performance.

I don’t want him to fight Thiago yet, i still want Thiago to get his rematch with Machida. I’m hoping for a Shogun vs Spider showdown or Shogun vs Couture.

Machida did lose to shogun the is no doubt about it, the rematch will be ok but i wanna see him fight gegard in strikeforce, but that is far from happening. I believe that he is the best light heavyweight out there today. So any timetable for a return for machida? I do wanna see his style if it changes any would love to see him bang more than run, but thats just my opinion.

More of a case of Shogun losing the fight than Machida winning if you ask me, best way to look at it
He’ll be head hunting next time so we’ll get to see if he REALLY has what it takes to “slay the dragon” and not just try and forrest his way to a point win
maybe he’ll use his hands!?
by Sawn on Nov 2, 2009 10:41 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
He landed more punches than Machida nice try. Watch Machidas flurry of snowflakes and count how many actually didn’t hit Shoguns arms. Then watch Shogun hit him with a nice clean punch and Machida immediately go in for a hug. You Machida nutthuggers are delusional and go against fight stats and what everbody else saw and agree with the 3 blind judges.

You need to review the scoring procedure for mma.
by peazy on Nov 2, 2009 1:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I think rather than dwelling on the past we should be thinking about who might move up from MW if Shogun wins the rematch. Imagine a fight between Anderson Silva, the biggest virtuoso in MMA and Shogun, walking talking slaughterhouse from Pride. Fight of the century?
by Wilhelm Sander on Nov 2, 2009 10:52 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
I agree Sawn! Shogun said he did not intend to change a thing in the rematch! But, you can bet that Machida will! If Shogun tries the same thing, he will lose again!

machida, the cocksuckers champion.
the only way you could think machida won that fight is if you were balls deep on him backstage while he poured his piss on your head.
machida lost that fight, he runs around the ring. he is the floyd mayweather of mma.
by Conan the Barbarian on Nov 2, 2009 4:04 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Yes I am a hater. I hate boring ass fighters who are afraid to engage and are called “elusive” or “intelligent” by some. I hope this isn’t the next stage in the evolution of MMA, crickets chirping.
It doesn’t matter what Machida does for the next fight (he does the same thing every fight). It only matters what Rua does, that will be the difference. Machida knows he has to avenge his one loss! Machida isn’t hurt either, only his ego maybe.

Machida (along with A. Silva) was supposed to be the UFC’s poster boy. Its the UFC’s job to protect these fighters as we all seen during the last PPV event.

Shogun won’t land any kicks this time because it is too hard to throw kicks with John G hanging on your nut sack.
Machida by KO in round 2 if not 1.
by hatteras on Nov 2, 2009 1:54 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
There is no help for Machida. We all saw the fight and Machida landed some decent clean shot. Did they hurt Shogun? NO! The flurry of punches that Machida did in the 4th round(i think) is what Rashad couldn’t handle and got ko’d with. Did they work on Shogun? Again NO! Shogun block must of them and landed a nice looping right that made Lyoto clinch up like a little beesh. What about those wicked leg sweeps that Lyoto is notorious for? Did they work for him? NO! Thats what happened to Thiago Silva he was getting caught with leg sweeps the whole fight and like a dumb ass he didn’t cover up and left himself exposed for the KO. We all agree that the Shogun has changed a little from his Pride days, He is more patient and he blocks shots pretty damn well. The answer is where can Machida beat him? It’s obvious that the clinch work is pretty well matched. I see Shogun taking the rematch by either GNP or sub.
by Danny_c on Nov 2, 2009 2:33 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
If Shogun does the same thing, he’ll lose the same way again.
If he goes for a KO he’ll lose by getting countered.
He’ll expose himself if he goes in for headshots, and i don’t see either taking the other down unless it was by knockdown (which isn’t going to happen for shogun from legkicks)
gotta feel for the guy – he’ll be in a tough spot if he loses the rematch, another title shot would be a long ways off
by Sawn on Nov 2, 2009 3:14 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
shogun could wi this fight, he can hit machida, he has shown that he can figure out machida’s timing and counter him. machida can’t change that. when they go into this next fight the judges will have to view them as equals. machida lost that fight, he ran around the ring. he is the floyd mayweather of mma. that won’t look good on him during their rematch. machida knows he lost his first fight, that is gonna fuck with his head big time.
by Conan the Barbarian on Nov 2, 2009 4:08 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
funny how U machida morons said the 1st fight was 1 of the biggest mismatches in MMA history! Machida by 1st round KO! comparing Shogun to thiago silva! thiago silva is not a striker 1st of all. & shogun is the 1st striker besides sam greco that he has faced!Shogun owned him every1 knows it whoever doesnt was on dimethyltryptamine wen they saw that!Shogun is guna f#ck up the dragon again on his way to becoming the next wanderlei silva!!!

Shogun won rounds 4 and 5. Rounds 1 and 2 should have been draws and round 3 to Machida. If I had to pick a winner for round one I’d say Machida. Round 2 was truly impossible to make a strong argument for either.
The point system needs to change. Instead of 10 points rounds do 20 point rounds. Make it 20-18 for rounds like the fith with a clear winner and 20-16 for round previously scored a 10-8 and 20-19 for rounds like round two.
