Jose Aldo expects to knockout Mike Brown at WEC 44 on Nov. 18

Quoteworthy:

"First of all, I hope to make a good fight. I want to impose my game and what I’m training. For sure I expect to knockout. Brown has a very strong wrestling. All my opponents were dangerous up to now but he is champion and I think he is the most dangerous fighter WEC put in front of me. I think Brown is going to try the ground and pound and trade some punches too. He will start striking to feel the fight and after he will take me down. I’m well trained everywhere to fight five rounds but I want to knockout. If I become the WEC champion, who knows I will go to UFC some day?"

Undefeated (in the WEC) Brazilian smashing machine, Jose Aldo, will look to make it six straight (technical) knockout victories when he goes toe-to-toe with WEC Featherweight Champion, Mike Brown, at WEC 44 from "The Pearl" at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada on Nov. 18. It certainly won't be easy because Brown is as tough as they come. But if anyone can do it is Aldo -- he is absolutely ferocious on his feet. Will he be able to keep it upright or will Brown be able to neutralize his stand up with takedowns and punishing ground and pound. Predictions please, Maniacs.

Brwon via arm triangle. I think it’ll go the same as the Garcia fight being honest

Yeah, I’m thinking Aldo may be a little small for Brown. Brown’s so compact I think he could take one of those flying knees.

Aldo is a nova uniao BJJ black belt. Everyone knows that Andre pederneiras’ students are no fn jokes on the mat. He was a grappler long before realizing he had hands. I suspect a big upset here, which WEC would love becuase he hasn’t fought Urijah before.

Not questioning his skills at all. I’ve only seen youtube footage really of Aldo (don’t get WEC in Ireland). He looks class!!! But I can see a heavy blow rocking him and Brown jumping all over it and getting some sort of choke

NNR: I also am feeling the upset! His Jits, spped and sick Muy Tai will earn him the title!

Faber/Aldp is the most exciting fight in the future of the WEC, but the Mega fight stylisticaly is ALDO vs. Miguel!

and I expect Mike Brown to knock you out

Aldo isn’t undefeated FWIW. I think Aldo will win, but not by KO, probably by submission if the fight goes to the ground. Let’s not forget Aldo is a BJJ black belt, except he hardly ever uses his ground game, because he usually keeps it standing and KO’s his opponents.

Brown is gonna kill this guy

Aldo’s explosive enough to pose some real problems for Brown. His striking is good and same for BJJ. Don’t expect another Garcia-like fight for Brown. Expect either a very quick KO or an absolute war for 5 rounds. Either way, it’ll be a good fight. WAR ALDO!

Remember what Jon Fitch said after losing to GSP – SPEED KILLS!

Aldo has the quickest hands in the division. He also has KO power in each hand, knees, kicks, and elbows. He’s build like a mini Anderson Silva.

I see a similar result as Marquardt or Henderson vs. Aldo. Brown is going to realize he can’t outstrike Aldo, he’ll try to keep it on the ground. And, Aldo finds the opening to choke Brown out.

This is gonna be a great fight!!! Sad to say, casual MMA fans haven’t heard of either of these great fighters.

Either an Aldo early TKO or a 5 round decision for Mike Brown…either way it should be a great fight. Apart from this fight i’m not excited about any of the upcoming fight cards

is this clown serious? brown’s gonna knock him the f’k out!!

by WDC on Oct 31, 2009 1:32 PM EDT reply actions

Aldo does have serious skills! Although I do agree with Brown getting the ko, I wouldnt call him a clown by any means imo.

by tylerS on Oct 31, 2009 3:54 PM EDT up reply actions

yup aldo is no clown, he has mad skills, I wouldn’t be surprised if he catches brown with a flying armbar or something.

RU serious? apparently u don’t know anything about Aldo otherwise u would realize what a huge threat he is to the 145lb division. At 23yrs old he already among the elite and he’s going to get a lot better.

u serious bro? aldo is seriously a BEAST, no joke. Mike Brown is good, but Aldo is just legit. I really see ALDO finishing this before the 3rd round. JOSE is the ANDERSON SILVA of 145, just see 4 yourselfs :)

gotta go wit Brown for this fight

Wow, it’s funny reading the noob comments on here. People thinking Brown will just kill Aldo, hahah. I like Brown a lot, but he’s outclassed in this one. He’s too slow and his wrestling won’t dominate Aldo. TKO round 2 or 3 for Aldo.

If you don’t realize how BAD Aldo is….????
You’ll know after this fight! Aldo will be too much for Brown, but it should be a scrap!

by Ground-Game on Nov 1, 2009 1:00 AM EDT reply actions

this is gonna be a very good fight…maybe the best featherweight fight this year..aside from faber vs brown 2 lol..!!! i see aldo’s speed is gonna be trouble for brown..brown is stronger..but strength and little speed is a disadvantage..(just like fedor vs rogers)!! so its strength vs speed??!! speed will dominate..i have beat alot of bigger fighters with my speed lol…they just dont know what to do when you start throwing punches and elbows so fast they cant even see it coming hahahahaha…!! aldo ko 2nd round!!!!! then it will be faber vs aldo…hard to predict on that one but….i would have to go with faber because of his speed …fight of the year right there hahaah!!!!!!!
