shogun robbed of so much money and the belt…have those judges been fired or assassinated yet?

I bet Dana gave him his win bonus anyways.

I dont think they can be fired. Plus, you have to consider that the CSAC is still a government entity so it’s highly inefficent.

Nothing against Velasquez, and sure, you might say I’m a tough critic, but can he finish anyone that is not sub par? His first two tests, Kongo and Rothwell took about 2,000 punches to the face combined and they both seemed ok. Sure, it doesn’t look like fun on top of you, but his G’n’P is nothing on Lesnar, Carwin, Gonzaga, or even Kongo for that matter, who despite the fact that he cant wrestle for shit has a decent top game. And one other thing, I know people say don’t compare them to the champ when they aren’t ready, but does anybody really think he should fight for the title? So far he’s proven that he relies heavily on wrestling and I don’t think Brock or Carwin will be taken down so easily.

Sub Par phhhhhhhhhh, funny how 99% of you posted Ben Rothwell will kill Cain in this fight!!!!!! Now Ben is sub par, what a joke!!!!! Cain is a beast this fight exactly how I said it would!

I completely agree with you spyder, the fight went like I thought it would as well. However, I have never been impressed with Rothwell, thought he would lose to Cain, and thought he lost his fight to Big Country in the IFL. I would like to see him fight Gonzaga, seeing as he seems to be playing the role of the gatekeeper anyway. His win last night undoubtedly was impressive, I just thought he would be able to finish Big Ben.
Quick question: Are you Da Spyda from back in the days of UFCMania

Just like I said—-BROWN PRIDE by total domination and I also stated that SHOGUN WILL SHOCK THE WORLD and he sure did, but unfortunately the only thing that shocked me was the f@#@!g desicion and robbery of the fight.

The biggest problem is here that Cain has proved himself to be ever so 1 dimensional.
Yeah he looked good against Rothwell but where does he go now?
Brock = No way does Cain take him down, Brock will throw him around like a rag doll and G&P him out.
Carwin = Cains not taking him down either, so it stays standing and Carwin knocks him out.
Big Nog = I could see Nog working him on the feet before Cain gets a takedown and gets tapped.
I don’t want to flame on him too bad because he won very well. But and its a big but, did he show any skills that will help him against the top three of the division… no.
He hasn’t got good enough standup and the division is dominated by fantastic wrestlers/bjj guys.

Nick J, agree completely. Cain will get smashed by the top dogs in the HW division.
by jay on Oct 26, 2009 9:53 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
agreed Nick! Thats why they have to match him up with one of their garbage fighters withh a big name that they market like a top fighter…Mir’s name ring a bell? If they want to give Cain anothher big win, they will have to match him up against Mir. he would beat the snot out of Mir…but he wont ever hold a title, uness he can pack on 15 lbs of muscle!

If he cant KO people, then he should be working non stop on his jits. He has to learn how to end a fight without the help of a referee!

I had Cain all the way and two names that come to mind that dont have ko power and yet were animals in the cage…Hughes and Randy.. Cain will be a force in the divison

COMPLETELY AGREE!
As an MMA fan, I was more interested observing Cain than the fight result. I knew Cain could pull out a decision if he wanted to just by taking Rothwell down and throwing rabbit punches.
Cain hasn’t been tested in two aspects. First, his chin hasn’t really been tested against top strikers with good takedown defense like Dos Santos. Second, his ability to finish fights hasn’t been tested. In fact there is a question mark next to his ability to finish after seeing Kongo fight and this fight.
Stevie Mazaggati does it again. Rothwell was getting up before the fight was stopped. Give him the punchers chance so that we could see the true potential of Cain.
This win doesn’t give Cain a shot against Fedor. At this point, Cain is just another Sergei Kharitonov, a young gun who destroys cans. e
Dos Santos vs Cain should be an awesome fight for both of these guys.
Cain should fight Dos Santos. I am sure Dos Santos will beat Gabe “the weak mental game” Gonzaga. That guy breaks down mentally in every fight against decent opponents.
by Fedor on Oct 26, 2009 1:58 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think before Cain tries to call out Brock he needs first fight someone with a ground game. So far his only 2 real test (Kongo and Rothwell) have had no ground game. What is going to happen when he fights somebody with takedown defense and a good ground game? He will not take down Brock at will. Brock is and was just as dominant (if not more dominant) as a Div I wrestler as Cain and will out wieght by more then 40 pounds when the fight starts. His next challenge should be Gonzaga or Heath Herring. I thik Gonzaga would be a true test to see where he actually stands. Heath also would bring a world of experience and a great ground game that would test where Cain truly stands.

It was a good win, but I also think Brock crushes him if they fight.

Great performance from Cain, strange stoppage or not (the timing more than anything, as Ben was getting up, no complaints over the damage sustained though) he proved a lot of the critics wrong with this performance. Cain is a beast and his wrestling will give any HW fits, even monstrous wrestlers like Brock and Shane. He is one fight away from a title shot in my opinion and if he could take advantage of his Mexican heritage to promote himself better then he’d be the one fighting at 106 not Carwin.

WEll I live in Tampa, Florida where The Largest Rebel Flag flies over I-75 and it is ok apparently ( I do not agree with it but it is private property). South Carolina flies it over there capital. I don’t anyone crying about that. How about the largest skin head rally in In the US that takes place in Indiana. Hate on that. MOre people were killed under that symbol then anything else in the US (excpet the Indians). I really don’t think there is anything wrong with being proud of who you are. How many American’s have American flags on them? Most of my Irish fans have Shamrocks on them. I realize race and heritage are different but you could be proud of both-without being a racist. People need to stop reading into every little form of self expression. This is what is killing America, everyone worries about being “PC”, the ACLU sues over every little thing, and people are offended by anything and everything that does not fit into their lifestyle or set of morals. It is not like he is sporting “Kill Whitey” on his neck. He is proud of his latino heritage. I gurantee going to school in a Div. I wrestling program more than half of his friends and teammates were white.

He has no take down defense or ability on the ground. Not to take away from Cains ability but Ben looked confused.

Brown Pride means he is proud to be brown. That’s it. He is just showing respect to his parents and grand-parents. No other race is involved. The necklace thing is a whole other story. I can’t believe he said that with a straight face. Oh well, Pride is one of the seven deadly sins. If he thinks he is ready for Lesnar he is in for a rude awakening.

Beating Rothwell on an early stoppage doesn’t mean you can beat Lesnar. It looked like Cain was just going to keep beating up Rothwell, but you never know. Kos was beating up Thiago just fine until that uppercut.

Agreed. I’m white, and completely understand why it’s cool to put Brown Pride on your chest, and not cool to put White Pride on mine. One group has power in America, and the other doesn’t. Brown Pride sends a message of encouragement to a group often without opportunity. White Pride would, intentionally or otherwise, send a message of domination and oppression.

I’m with you spyder, enough of this shit already. Cain is a fvcking monster and he shows it every time he fights. You could make an argument that he needs one more fight before Lesnar, but who in the hell is there that is actually going to give him a fight? Other than Lesnar, i can’t think of another HW in the UFC that can deal with Cain. Where are all the idiots are that were claming before this fight that Cain is totally overrated?? All i heard about was the “new and improved” Rothwell, and Cain demolished him. Fvck Mazzaghatti while we’re at it. He saved Rothwell from taking a monumental beating, but he also robbed Cain of putting a serious exclamation point on that fight. All the Cain haters out there are screwed, because this guy isn’t going away anytime soon.

I feel that Velasquez has earned a title shot. And what’s up with all of you Velasquez bashers? He’s still green as hell, but continues to improve with every fight. Give the guy some time for God’s sake. Anyone who fights Kongo is gonna get nailed a few times. Velasquez still crushed him. Ya’ll need to start giving this dude some props. And get over the “Brown Pride” thing. The guy’s entitled to be proud of his heritage. MMArt, and salmonbum, ya’ll are the racist. Get over yourselves. Everyone should be proud of their roots. For those of you saying Cain should fight someone else before he fights for the title…. He will really never be ready to fight either Lesnar or Carwin or NOG for that matter. He has no stand-up and depends upon being better on the ground than his opponent. NOG would sub him from the bottom, and I dont think he would be able to take Lesnar or Carwin down at will. He needs to be able to take them down at will because his GnP seems to take a while. Plus I think all three of these guys would KO him on the feet.
That said he has earned a title shot, at least as much as Carwin did. It is his turn and he should get the winner of 105

You’re high……Cain would destroy NOG. I don’t give a shit what anyone says, there’s no way NOG will keep up with this kid’s pace. If people are going to insist that Cain still needs another fight….fine, give him NOG so we could kill two birds with one stone. Not only will it further prove the Cain is deserving of a title shot, but it will also put to rest the ridiculous idea that NOG has the ability to be the champ again. I’m not buying the NOG resurgence because he beat an over the hill couture…..CAIN will permanently retire NOG….

NOG would let him get on top and probably proceed to triangle him into unconciousness or tear his arm off. I stated he has earned his title shot and I think he will get it, but he is definitely not ready to fight NOG or Lesnar.

Ben Rothwell is sponsored by Extenze!!! Isn’t that the herbal supliment that makes your junk grow like 14 inches in 36 hours????
I don’t know about anyone else but I personally think that is the best sponsor in the history of hand to hand combat…… and possibly even sword fighting.

It was a stop a bit early but even though Ben was standing he wasn’t defending himself. Cain needs one or two more fights before a title shot, he needs to work on his power, he needs to KO people. Regarding the “Brown Pride” thing its not racist, “White Power” is racist because the history behind it, if you still think its racist it like nobody can say N***** (the N word) without being racist except for black people.
by Rebel664 on Oct 25, 2009 1:15 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
brown pride is just as racist as " white pride and black or white power. they all mean the same thing(my people are better than yours). la raza “the race” is also racist. there are alot of mexican americans who hate white people for stomping their ansestors’ asses in the mexican american war and the texas war of independence. hang out with the “brown pride” crowd and you will inevitably hear them talk about the reconquista. cain probably is a little racist. for what i have no idea. he has led a charmed life among the gringos.

Man, Cain is still too hyped. I’m sorry. He did do very well, yes. Against a guy who was Brock sized, yes. But Ben was no Brock, no Shane, nobody.
It was the perfect gameplan for Ben. Same for Cheick. But his, weak punches, & unable to finish style, will inevitably get him ko’d by Brock/Shane, or even Gabe.
What u Cain hardcores are missing, is that this doesn’t prove he can overcome or compete with the top 5 HW’s. If Ben could keep getting up, you can guarantee the rest will. Also’ he doesn’t capitalize on submission opportunities that were all over last night.

Cain has awesome wrestling but so so KO power. BUT, i havent seen lesnar really KO someone though. He has pounded his opponents with countless of shots thats why the got KO’d. Carwin on the other hand, dropped Gonzaga w/ 1 shot. But out of the 3, I think Cain has the best wrestling, I just dont think he’s big enough and with no KO power, thats a danger zone if he fights either 2.
Now, cant w8 for Fedor vs rogers!
by big_evil on Oct 25, 2009 4:48 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
When Cain hits someone 50 times(unanswered) and the guy gets up with nothing wrong with him at all, you have a problem. Brock hit Mir in the face 10 times and it looked like he was hit by a truck face first. You must not remember the time Brock punched HH and sent him backflipping across the cage to think he has no power, breaking a guys orbital bone with one punch is serious power. Cain has the worst wrestling between him, Shane and Brock. He isn’t in their league and probably never will be.
by jay on Oct 26, 2009 11:38 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Lesner and Carwin will dominate anybody if they have 30+ lbs on their opponents. Lesners shot cannot be stuffed. NOG has a punchers(submission)chance. Randy fighting NOG was a joke. What was he thinking with the stand up? NOG had not been KO’d to this point and Randy doesn’t have heavy hands. Oh well, I love Randy but he needs to call it a day. I think Vera will clean him up and then we have 3 more fight left on his contract.

Rothwell was horrible and knew coming into the fight how NOT to fight Cain thanks to Kongo. Yet, he basically employed the same lameness of not being able to defend a takedown at all and got mauled by a smaller fighter. While Cain looked good, his competition was sub-par so how does this PROPEL him into any better standing in the division than what is was before the fight?
Please give Cain somebody like Dos Santos, Gonzaga, Nog or Randy before we annoint him #1 contender….

Cain would beat Brock the same way he did Congo, when it comes to punches, didn’t it take like 300 punches from Brock to have the referee stop the fight with Mir?, Brock did not finish the fight, he did not finish Heath either, can you explain?, this big guys, specially if they are young and strong, can take lots of punishment, Cain definately would make Brock work for the win.
