overeem gets more gimme fights than anybody. thompson is like a head served on a silver platter. does anybody think thompson has any kind of chance? and dont give me the cliche “this is mma, anything can happen”. thompson has no shot.

Randy has had more undeserved title shots than anybody BUT he still has faced the best of the best throughout his career all the while being older and smaller for the most part!

-Sylvia when came out of retirement and gave up a foot in reach and 50 lbs.(i was impressed)
-Liddell x3
-Tito. Love him or hate him he was and could be a dominant force.
-NOG
-Lesnar
-Gonzaga
-Belfort x3
-Ricco (when he was good)
-Barnett
-Rizzo (when he was good)

and not to mention his upcoming opponent, VERA, aint no slouch either!
He might have been GIVEN many shots at titles but you can’t look at the guys he fought, win or lose, and say that all he’s had is “gimme fights.”

Sorry Robert i think i may have interpreted what you said wrong, at first. lol ;)

Yeah, Bonjasky, Hari, and Aerts are gimme fights. K-1 or not, at least he’s fighting unlike a certain HW fighter who wastes people times doing exhibitions.

sure man, tony sylvester and james thompson are much tougher opponents than brett rogers. overeem ducked rogers because he cant pass a drug test in the u.s.
funny you mention fedor seeing as how he is fighting the very guy that overeem wont fight.

Alistair didn’t duck Badr who is much scarier IMO.

Fedor is the greatest of all time.

gong’n dash knockout coming for Thompson like what happened when he fought Aleksander Emelianenko. lol. Yea day1er i agree with u, he has probably a 5% chance to pull off tha upset. But with a +900 betting line on him it wouldn’r hurt to throw like 20 bucks on him, thatz like 180 on top of ur 20 if he some how won.

Thats not bad, not as good as what i got for serra beating gsp, i put on £5 and got back £175.
Not that im a fan of these two, but i hope thompson actually fucks overeem up, it would mess up the strikeforce future plans thats for sure.

by Insain on Oct 24, 2009 2:32 PM EDT up reply actions

would it fuck it up? it would certainly cause some problems but i still think its a cert fedor vs overeem if he gest off the juice. overeem by brutal brutal beatdown. thompson is gonna be the first death in a high profile mma fight if he isnt carefull. he is getting ko’d badly like a 1930’s boxer who just doesnt quit. i hope he has had a recent c.t and been given the all clear because i would hate to see it happen because he is a nice lad
