GSp is the most elite fighter in the game. He may not be very charasmatic (Kev), but he is the epitomy of what ever fighters strives to be!
No WW will be beating GSP ANYTIME soon!
Fitch, BJ (3rd time shut up no bj), Swick, Semtex, NO ONE!
Only challeneges for GSP now are at MW.
and quite frankly i don’t care whether he chooses to remain and clean out the WW’s or move up to exciting challeges! i won’t bash a fighter for being amazing at their given weight class!

Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with being the best in your weight class. GSP is the type of champ I want representing MMA. As for his charisma, I think he’s got plenty of charisma.

More importantly, he’s got class. He’s the classiest, most respectful fighter since Evan Tanner, totally gracious in victory and in defeat. He doesn’t clown on guys to humiliate them like Silva and Rashad, doesn’t talk a bunch of ignorant filth when he wins like Brock, and doesn’t make excuses when he loses like Tito and B.J. He goes to the locker rooms of his fallen opponents and encourages them to keep pursuing their dreams and empathizes with stories of his own defeats. He’s a true gentleman and by far the most respect-worthy champion the UFC has.
LONG LIVE KING GEORGE!

gsp will go down as the goat p4p mma fighter by the time he retires. fedor? forget it. for every great fighter he has beaten, there will be a can to go with it. some fedorians consider matt lindland as a great win for fedor, lol. no losses-yet- but what about the quality of opposition. this is where fedor will fail, that and considering the fact that he ducked the ufc. yes i said DUCKED! anderson silva? close, but he seems to want to coast to much at the end of his career, but one could make a good argument for him that he did move up and beat bigger fighters, but lets look at the end of their careers and see which fighters beat the most p4p fighters and in what fashion. jon fitch, bj penn and thiago alves were all in the top 10 p4p (going by yahoo and other sites that do p4p rankings). so was hughes the 2nd time he fought GSP.not only did gsp beat these guys, he dominated them, never losing a round, never even being put in a bad postion. theres not much comparison.

He lost the first round in the first fight to BJ Penn. Not to cool off GSP steam here, but let’s think about it. GSP walks around every day at 190-200 lbs. BJ walks around at 163 lbs. GSP has been cutting weight his entire career to fight guys smaller and weaker than him. I would give my left nut to see GSP stand up or even try to take down Anderson Silva. They have very similar size and strength. Think about it. Really think about it.

how about damian maia coming down to 170.he wouldnt mind being taken down and imo gsp would have to finish him, theres no way he could stay in damians guard for 5 rounds without getting subbed.after the swick/hardy fight unless semtex gets another big win its the most logical fight for me.although great i just think gsp is too small for silva.i dont even think gsp would beat hendo to be honest.
by scott on Oct 15, 2009 5:14 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Georges would dismantle Maia on the feet for minute or two. IMO, that fight would be an easy finish for G. He’s so much more well rounded

GSP over Maia with one hand tied around his back. SCOT give me a break dude lmao!

He just posted the other day saying how he doesn’t post much, lol.
AND i wasn’t calling him out at all, i just know he respects GSP but is not a fan because of his lack of charisma!

This guy is the man!!! the one thing i really admite about GSP is when you see him at the clubs he acts like a regular guy just drinking havin fun- and treats everyone with respect… alot of other fights ESPECIALLY RASHAD EVANS don’t do that.. i met rashad in Toronto a month ago and he is the biggest PUNK off TV that i was in shock to see someone act like such a douche bag… he was acting like he didn’t just get KTFO by Machida
by ricky on Oct 14, 2009 8:31 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
That’s what I’ve been saying folks, you can’t base your opinion of a fighter based on the editing down of thousands of hours of footage into a few minutes a week. Ask the people who actually know these guys. Sure Rashad looks like Mr.Sensitivity and Mr.Civilized on MMA Live and TUF, he’s playing for the cameras. But people who’ve met him say he’s a total prick. Rampage on the other hand may come off bad on TUF, but everyone who knows him says what a likeable guy he is, even Dana who’s feuding with him and Demico who just got shafted by him.

travis lutter had silva in the full mount and was raining punches down on him, silva just barely got his leg over lutter’s shoulder and almost was stopped by a nobody. so why people think gsp has no chance is a bit funny. it’s not like he isn’t going to come in as the same size as he does at ww. he will most likely bulk up to 195-200 lbs of solid muscle and cut down to 185. silva will always be stronger and punch harder, but gsp is the best wreslter and takedown artist in mma, and silva’s biggest weakness so far has been his takedown defense. if you watch the thiago alves/gsp fight, you can see that alves is much bigger and most likely stronger than gsp , but gsp was able to take him down at will. why? technique thats why. nobody comes in with a better gameplan than gsp and greg jackson and if silva stays at mw long enough, they will figure out how to beat the spider. don’t forgrt gsp holds his own with rashad and jardine and they are lhws.

Lutter lost that fight because he got about a billion illegal elbows to the top of the head. Doesn’t mean Lutter could he won but that is how it ended.

by SluggerCitySoldier on Oct 15, 2009 8:57 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
j.b im sure alves outweighed gsp by about 15 pounds, but none of that matters, just cause your heavier, doesnt make you stronger. GSP threw alves around like a rag doll, despite fighting on one leg for half the fight. Jardine and others in his camp have said gsp is stronger than most LHWs, and he trains against HW canadiam olympic wrestlers, who im sure are far stronger, than any fighter who fights as a lhw even in the UFC. I find it comimal people assume anderson is stronger than gsp simply because he outweighs him. GSP regurlaly takes down fighters like marquardt, and rashad evans, at will and they cant even take him down once.

Dude, look it up on Babelfish translator if you’re that linquistically inept. Vas Y GSP is French (GSP’s language) for “Go There, GSP”, which is essentially the equivallent of “Do Your Thing, Bro!” This sign has absolutely nothing to do with vasolene!

Sadly GSP will never be the G.O.A.T ever because he clearly does not want to move in weight and when he does he will get pwnt by the top 185’ers. Unlike Fedor who has fought bigger man almost his entire career, not only that but alot of those guys were higher ranked and supposedly more skilled till he whoop the living shit out of them, furthermore hes never been beaten in a fight and yes Lindland is not a great win but it is a solid win 20lb difference aint shit considering Fedor beats people 40lb++ plenty often.
With that being said GSP is the shiiiiiit Boiiii!!!!! Been said it since his loss to Hughes.
(wasnt hughes his idol perrrty sure he said that like 10000xtimes in the past now in this interview its a gracie???)
by Khaos_Warrior on Oct 14, 2009 10:39 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Dude, what the heck are you talking about??? The only meaningful fighter Fedor fought who was even 30 lbs bigger was Tim Sylvia. Fedor is 235. He’s bigger than Nog or CroCop. He’s 30 lbs bigger than Randleman and Babalu. And Arona and Lindland are MIDDLEWEIGHTS! Even Arlovski and Hunt are not more than 10-15 lbs bigger than Fedor.
And Anderson Silva hasn’t fought bigger guys. Forrest was maybe 5 lbs bigger, MAYBE. Due to his freakish ability to cut weight for weigh ins (which he promptly puts back on before fight time) Silva has fought his whole career against guys who are actually 20-30 lbs SMALLER than him. Going up closer to his natural weight to fight at 205 is no credit to Silva, it just means he’s finally fighting guys closer to his own size!
GSP has fought his whole career against guys his own size. To do that, Silva would have to have been fighting the Coutures, Nogs, CroCops, and Rampages, instead of Lebens, Lutters, and Leitess. GSP isn’t less of a fighter because he couldn’t/didn’t dehydrate himself down to fight his career at LightWeight so he can look like a hero when he “moves up” to fight guys his own size at Welterweight.
by shonuff on Oct 14, 2009 11:38 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hunt is only 10-15 lbs more then Fedor?? Hunt has weighed anywhere from 250-263 thats more then 10-15…..learn to count please……………..
Fedor rarely has ever weighed 235 showed how little you know about him, in fact i really wont say more then that since you know so little its pointless to argue with you. 230 is his weight just like NoG.
O i actually agree on the Anderson silva shit been saying that since forever.
by Khaos_Warrior on Oct 15, 2009 1:43 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Sherdog says Fedor is 233 and Hunt is 250, which is a lot closer to my 15 lb estimate than your 40. But lets use YOUR numbers. You say Fedor is 230. I won’t split hairs on that. But even using your high-end estimate for Hunt, at 263, that’d be 33lbs, hardly the “40++” that you’re claiming. And what sort of arithmatic do you use to calculate that your 230 lb Fedor is only 20 lbs bigger than 185 lb Matt Lindland. By traditional math, that means Lindland was 45 lbs smaller. You must be using that revolutionary new math that Democrats use to balance the budget.

I thought he just said the he looked up to Hughes as someone that couldn’t be beat.
by SilasM on Oct 15, 2009 12:18 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Naw, he did say several times that Hughes was his idol. But after their first fight, Hughes made some comments about Georges that hurt his feelings and that he thought were disrespectful and he lost a lot of his reverence for Hughes after that, which was a good thing cause it allowed him to mentally dominate Hughes in the rematch, whereas in their first match GSP was still intimidated by Hughes and in awe of him.

Ya GSP did say hughes WAS his idol a long time ago, but maybe today he has a different perspective and thinks hughes is a big duesch bag now, if he thinks this would he say hughes is his idol? I’ve had idols in the past I can’t stand now, didn’t they ask who was his mma idol?
by nathan on Oct 15, 2009 2:02 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I looked at it again and they asked who was his favorite fighter. Becuase of the language difference he said idol, and he’s said many times in the past gracie made him interested in MMA and thinks he’s the greatest of all time, I think he means like hes a pioneer in the sport.
