I laugh every time I hear this guy talk. Talk through your mouth and not your nose you tool.

We don’t care to hear what gets you off jimmy_dean

Yeah, that was annoying jimmy_dean sausage fest. Anyway, I believe Nate really needs to develop a stand-up game like his brother to stand any chance against the best in the division. His getting-his-butt-kicked-early-only-to-pull-off-a-slick-submission strategy will only carry him so far.

jake shields is the guy i want to get beaten the most, after calling out gsp, he went from an overrated fighter to a straight joke.
guys that would crush shields: (at WW)
GSP
Alves
Kos
Fitch
Swick
Hughes
BJ (at any weight class)
Serra
All of his past wins are over ok strikers with NO ground game, anyone with ok hands and decent wrestling would knock shields out of any top ten talk
by sac165 on Oct 12, 2009 10:28 AM EDT reply actions
Scratch Serra.
Fitch, Kos wouldn’t take it to the ground so we would be stuck with a boring decision for Fitch and over hand rights from 15 feet away for Kos.
I’m not sure BJ would be the fave against anyone at WW.
Swick would be submitted.
Hughes would get subbed because his stand up is atrocious.
So you have GSP and Alves left and everyone knows they are 1-2. No one said Shields was 1 or 2, but he would beat most people on that crap list of yours. I don’t even like Shields, but writing(or copy-pasting) a list of the top 8 UFC WW fighters is useless.

no, i think bj could not only beat, but destroy shields at ww.

Fitch would GnP Jake on the ground. I’m sure Jake would try to submit him a few different times but I don’t think we’ll see Fitch get sub’d anytime in the near future or KO’d for that matter.
Also until fitch gets beat by Alves or anyone other than GSP, I don’t see how people can claim Alves is #2…

jay how the hell is hughs gonna get subbed if his stand up is bad? that makes no sense whatsoever hughes DOES have horrible stand up is still better than shields in every aspect
by sac165 on Oct 12, 2009 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions
Nah, Fitch would take this to the ground with Shields anytime!
As for Koscheck, screw him, who cares…
by Syd on Oct 12, 2009 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions
Shields fights way to smart to lose that easily. Anyone dare go to the ground will be submitted. I understand he has no stand up, but he can beat a striker with ease. This is why hes so dangerous. Stand up with him, and hell take you down and make you tap. Take him down, and 2 minutes later, youd either be waking up or complaining about your broken arm.
by RobMania on Oct 12, 2009 1:35 PM EDT up reply actions
BJ would dominate him tho.* And if GSP “fights” and not “survives”,then maybe hed get tapped.
by RobMania on Oct 12, 2009 1:38 PM EDT up reply actions
Shields is a puss.Get some decent take down defense and any1 could woop shields ass,in the cage or at a fricken bbq.Bully beat down exsposed that.lol.Overated ass.

Man, that dude looks weird. Diaz sounds like a complete spastic.
by Matt on Oct 12, 2009 11:43 AM EDT reply actions
I’d much rather see Shields fight GSP than any of the other “top” ten WW’s.

Interviewer is weird as hell..Is there something wrong with him?

Shields is the shiiizzznit and would take BJs arm off your smoking some serious shiiiit if you think BJ who is alot smaller would be beat Shields. Shields take out everyone in the UFC WW division except Alves/GSP/Kos.
by Khaos_Warrior on Oct 12, 2009 5:13 PM EDT reply actions
Come on Khaos! BJ has way more tools to win the match and Shields would not submit him. BJ keeps the fight standing and knocks him out. IMO.

Nate Diaz is the MAN! The interviewer thought he was being cool dropping cuss words left and right, and Nate not once.
Earlier comments have Shields lined up with almost all UFC fighters. Shields to the UFC!!!

Spot on, Diaz came across great in this interview and didn’t need to swear for the sake of it like the interviewer. The Diaz Bros are genuine blokes and I’m a big fan of their entertaining personalities as well as their world class skills but it was good to see Nate conduct himself professionally here.
Shields is an awesome fighter, a top 5 WW in my opinion and along with Nick Diaz the only decent match-up for GSP at that weight class. Shields has some of the best BJJ in the sport and proved against Lawler that even against larger opponents he can submit you in an instant if you give him an opening. His stand-up may be poor but he has the wrestling and BJJ to get the fight to the ground and submit the majority of WWs and even a few top MWs. He should be able to handle Mayhem relatively easily then he can defend the SF MW title against Jacare and we get to see a grappling masterclass.
Funny news came out today, a huge cannabis farm was raided by police in Stockton, Teeside (the English town of Stockton), so maybe the Diaz Bros live in our Stockton after all.

He would would be a worthy opponent for any of the top 5 ww, including GSP

Honestly, Iexpected that portion of the interview to be edited out as the announcer was talking behind us. I really try not cuss THAT much. Sorry guys
