"I won't be fighting at UFC 105, but I will be there meeting the fans and sitting down with some popcorn to see Dan (Hardy) butcher (Mike) Swick. [He's] been bashing me for some reason, I don't know why, ripping on my record and things like that. All I did was accept a fight he'd pulled out of but he seems to have a problem with me. He said I am big headed, but I have gone out of my way to be humble in the UFC. After the fight I didn't jump around or nothing or shoot my mouth. I think Swick is jealous because he pulled out of the Kampmann fight and would never have done that if it were him in there and not me. I've got eight losses -- so what? I've fought literally twice as many people as he has and I have fought better opposition than he has. His best win was against Marcus Davis and Dan beat Marcus much worse than he did with lay and pray. Dan is going to get rid of Swick in Manchester next month. You won't hear too much about him after UFC 105."
Suddenly relevant welterweight striker Paul Daley reacts to some recent Swick-talk regarding his win over Martin Kampmann at UFC 103 last month in Dallas. The heavy-handed "Semtex" vaulted himself to the upper echelon of welterweights after replacing an injured "Quick" on Sept. 19, but rubbed the AKA standout the wrong way with his post-fight comments. Is Swick, who fights Dan Hardy at UFC 105 on Nov.14, jealous of Daley's sudden success? Or is the Brit simply getting too big for his britches after his win over "The Hitman?"

Swick is over rated as a contender for GSP but I don’t see how Hardy is even on the same level. He’ll get destroyed by Swick and I still wouldn’t consider him for a GSP match after that.
AKA guys win fights. I think some of you guys would rather watch a Kimbo street fight. People need to remember that the first M in MMA stands for MIXED.

Wait for Hardy to prove he has a ground game and for Swick to step up in serious competition. I think Semtex has what it takes to beat them both, and he was humble in his win.

i hate hardy, semi hate swick, but because hardy is that typical cocky english prick that can’t do anything but bash people, swick is gonna swick out on him.. swick and hardy kind of remind me of one another, long skinny WW with no power just get lucky and land one and get a nice KO, honestly both are insanely overrated,nowhere near deserving a shot,never will win a belt.. semtex vs hardy/swick in a handicap match ;) my money is on semtex

Semtex may be able to beat Swick, but he needs to find a ground game if he ever wants to step into a cage with GSP and not get killed.

It’s pretty sad that the WW division is going the same way the MW division went last year. There are no real deserving contenders right now for GSP. Having Hardy/Swick for the #1 contender match was like last year Cote/Almeida for a title shot…it doesn’t matter who wins…they’re just a sacrificial lamb for GSP. I think they should have put Swick up against Alves and if he won then at least there would be a little more credibility to deserving a shot at the belt. Beating Hardy, Saunders, Davis, Goulet doesn’t cut it for the resume of a #1 contender. I realize Swick is 9-1 in the UFC and that’s not an easy thing to do but he needs to be tested by a top 5 fighter…or at least a top 10.
I still think Swick will win this fight…he’s the smarter fighter and has faced better competition. Hardy has brick hands but 2 splits and a KO over Markham in the UFC isn’t impressive to me. Either way…I could care less who wins. Unless Swick destroys this guy then no one deserves a shot at the title.
It’s hard to argue that Swick isn’t the front runner though…who else is there that deserves a shot right now that GSP hasn’t already beat?

Plus GSP has gotten a lot better since that fight as well. Honestly, I don’t think Kos’ wrestling is even on par with GSP anymore, and GSP is leaps and bounds better everywhere else. I think GSP would finish a rematch. Kos is a game fighter, I just think that GSP is on a different level than pretty much everyone at 170.

gsp is so dominant that every ww fight he has he will most likely win..
and the ufc’s ww divison is stacked with almost all the top ww’s in the world..
imo- that says alot more for gsp’s title defense’s, than it does for anderson’s..
when gsp defends next, the ufc should have a ww grand prix start off the same night..
a grand prix will help make a true #1 contender…

What did Swick actually say about Semtex? I’m surprised that he bashed him because Daley was really humble after an excellent performance against Kampmann. Chances are he’ll face Kos next, as the AKA boys like to stick together and Hughes doesn’t seem to want to fight anyone relevant (I swear he only signed that contract for rematches with Trigg and Hallman).
Swick-Hardy should be a great fight and it’d be great if Dan won but he has a lot to work on grappling wise if he is going to beat the top WWs, Swick works with 2 of the best wrestlers in the division at AKA so he should have much better wrestling than Hardy, who struggled with that aspect against Davis, the same guy that Swick outgrappled easily back when he was struggling to make 170. Swick also has faster hands and better KO power in my opinion so I don’t see Dan winning this one but I hope he proves me wrong like Daley did against Kampmann. Regardless the winner will get mauled by GSP and will have to work on their wrestling 24/7 in the lead up to the fight just to make it competetive.

I’m so swick of all ur lame swickhead jokes. The swicker picker upper is fun to watch, and I’m glad they added Daley to the mix, cause the more the merrier in the ww division. Although I don’t see any getting past GSP, he’s just too good.

Swick finishes fights thats why he is such a good fighter and gets alot of attention his first 4 fights had a combined time of 5mins because he KOs so fast. I think he will walk in there and KO out Hardy pretty fast in the first round.

Swick is not overrated. 10-1 in the UFC with his only loss being to Okami (who has repeatedly been overlooked as a #1 contender.) 5 of Swick’s wins were in the MW division. 6 of Swick’s UFC wins have been by way of stoppage. No one is saying that Swick will beat GSP, but it’s pretty ridiculous to try to belittle Swick’s accomplishments. Also, I have to disagree with Semtex on who had the more impressive win over Davis. Hardy barely won that fight via split decision. Swick, while certainly not putting on the most exciting fight of his career, beat Davis much more definitively.

He’ll stand and use his superioir range for a while but we all know the smart thing to do will be to go for takedown and control. I heard all the hype about Daley a few years back, then I saw him fight. Ive only seen him fight three times and he has lost 2 of three (looking real bad), personally with 8 losses on his record he should just shut up and fight, get a few wins in a row and then start calling people out. Mike Swick would destroy him within a few seconds or minutes. As far as I have seen Daley is all talk!!!!
