MMA Quick Quote: Tune in for Herschel Walker versus a cripple -- courtesy of 'jackasses and geniuses'

"I think it's ridiculous. People think we're anti-competition? We're anti-dumb competition. Doing stupid things like this, putting a 50-year-old guy in the Octagon for the first time, and then going out there putting out press releases like it's a big deal because you signed a 50-year-old Herschel Walker? Are you serious? Strikeforce is a small, little, regional show. The geniuses over at Showtime, these guys are the most arrogant, cocky, pompous jackasses I've ever met in my whole life. Which athletic commission is going to let this guy fight? Who the f**k are they going to find to fight Herschel Walker? A guy in a wheelchair?"

-- UFC President Dana White blasts the recent Strikeforce acquisition of former NFL legend Herschel Walker on Inside The Ultimate Fighter (via MMA Fanhouse), who at age 47 is expected to make his debut for the San Jose-based promotion in January 2010. White maintains that he is not opposed to competition, rather he opposes bad decisions that cast the still-growing sport in a negative light. Does Walker, a karate black belt, have something to offer Showtime audiences? Or is this a signing that will come back to haunt Scott Coker and Co. down the road? Opinions please.

by Big Zino on Sep 24, 2009 1:41 PM EDT up reply actions

hahahHAHAHAHAHA BIG zINO, THAT WAS SO FUNNY, YET SO TRUE! PRICELESS!

Tito is salivating at the thought of fighting Hershel.

Tell Dana to STFU…Strikeforce is a small show, so I will give them a pass…but he is the boss of the premier mma organization in the world, and is still feeding us, Ancient has beens like Coleman,Trigg,Baroni, hallman on ppv main cards!..not to mentioin win or lose, Randy gets a title shot in every other fight. Leave strikeforce alone, and straighten your organization out and turn it into a legit sport,,,you classeless FOCK!!!! All the great fighters under one roof, and you still build up bums, and has beens like they are great! Shame on you! where is introvert when you need him? lol

Dana does the same exact crap, he just sells it better!

John- How can you compare Randy Couture to Herschel Walker. The only similarity is their age. Randy has been wrestling for decades, and has been in mma for close to 15 years. Even in losing his last 2 fights, he gave Brock his best fight so far, and was able to escape all of Nog’s sub attempts. In the 2 fights before that, he beat the champ, and the guy who killed Crocops career.

Herschel hasn’t even played football in forever, and is having his first mma fight at 47! Signing him makes it look like anyone can be a pro.

by naturalshadow on Sep 24, 2009 11:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I wasnt comparing Hershe to Couture…I was pointing out all the BS that the UFC does that compromises the integrity of the UFC for a big payday! when strikeforce does something like that, Dana jumps all over them. IMO its much worse when the premier mma organization in the world, puts money over the integrity of the sport…..its not as bad IMO, when a up and coming organization does it, because they NEED TO DO IT! UFC doesnt need to tdo anything like that, yet they stilll do!

no shit how old are some of those nfl players, i bet hersal looks way better than the fighters we have seen so far on tuff. is it a mistake for stikeforce to sign hersal?i guess it depends on how he fights.

by roy on Sep 24, 2009 1:46 PM EDT up reply actions

The ex-NFL players are still relatively young, the fact that Walker is 47 (with no experience) is Dana’s arguement I think. Not everyone is Couture and can fight (without getting seriously injured) into their 40’s.

by apex103 on Sep 25, 2009 4:57 AM EDT up reply actions

Walker said his purses are going to go to charity, and I respect that. I just wish he would do it in another, smaller organization. I’ve liked the Strikeforce cards so far. This stunt just makes Coker look like he is on the job training or something.

by Felix by day, El Mexicutioner by night on Sep 24, 2009 1:33 PM EDT reply actions

I agree, thats cool. I love the other “geniuses” that were saying Walker needed the money. I think this is lame, and to say they weren’t trying to garner press is a flat out lie, right after I read it on mania, i saw it on the bottom scroll of espn. Strikeforce has a few “big” names and no one to have them fight, I enjoy the free shows, but Dana is basically right on here!
And Frosnt, yes, you’re right… but those guys are all young and hungry and need the money, and are on a show to prove they belong. Do you know how many black belts in tae kwon do there are that want this chance and don’t get it because they didn’t play in the NFL?

by kevin on Sep 24, 2009 1:39 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t really understand ur argument based on the last sentence but that’s pretty much exactly my point. As I said in another post in moderation, I’m not defending Coker I just think that DW is all about the dollars so it’s hypocritical of him to call out Strikeforce on the legitimacy of a signing when he signs pro wrestlers with 1 fight and promotes internet brawlers as some huge sensation.

by frosnt on Sep 24, 2009 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions

I guess guys that have potential are considered better than 50 year old guys that garner press, thats my take. The NFL guys on tuf weren’t heisman trophy winners and didn’t garner a spot on first take or even their local newspaper. Thats the difference. A 30 year old Brock Lesner (who is the UFC champ unfortunately) is a little more relevant than a 50 year old that won’t ever be more than a “side show.”

by kevin on Sep 24, 2009 1:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah and how has that pro wrestler worked out? “Promotes internet brawlers as some huge sensation”. He put him in TUF, a reality tv show where only a small % actually end up fighting for the UFC for any extended amount of time.

by Adam T. on Sep 24, 2009 1:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Look, my point is that they both are clearly after the money and they’re both willing to sign and promote fighters without a lot of credibility. Don’t even try to argue that DW makes his decisions about who he picks up/keeps on the roster, who he puts on TUF, who he drops entirely based on the caliber of fighter, because I can point out about a million examples to the contrary. Obviously the signing of Herschel is a more extreme example of adding a fighter who has not proven himself but DW does the exact same thing all the time to a lesser extent.

by frosnt on Sep 24, 2009 2:06 PM EDT up reply actions

aside from the UFC HW champion and a guy that won’t win TUF (KIMBO) please do tell all these examples of guys signed to make Dana money!!!

by kevin on Sep 24, 2009 2:10 PM EDT up reply actions

The difference is his marketing scheme, he wisely promoted Lesnar, and had him fight hard competition right away. He is also forcing Kimbo to go through TUF which will generate draws, but won’t tarnish the legitimacy of the UFC since its like a course for beginners. I agree however that its somewhat of a double standard, only Strikeforce really did corner themselves with this because they never thought further out than one or two freakshow fights for Herschel. The only real bad thing I see about this is now Dana’s eyes are on Strikeforce and he’s looking to take another org down. This is the first time I’ve heard Dana talk this much smack about Strikeforce which isn’t good for them.

by Cogito Ergo Sum on Sep 24, 2009 2:11 PM EDT up reply actions

examples of guys signed to make Dana money!!!

baroni, tank ect.

by roy on Sep 24, 2009 2:23 PM EDT up reply actions

lol, yeah they are big draws Roy!

by kevin on Sep 24, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions

imo Dana signed most of these guys to prevent Strikeforce from getting them. Strikeforce is next to go for Dana and then he can finally move to the land of the rising sun. UFC manifest destiny!

by Cogito Ergo Sum on Sep 24, 2009 2:46 PM EDT up reply actions

No different then hershel walker. Your comparing Brock to hershel. I think a more fair comparison is trigg, baroni, or tank being brought to UFC. Ya there not huge draws but they were picked up for a reason. Its a signing frenzy. Make the news etc.

If you think STRIKEFORCE is betting the house on hershel making them money ur sadly mistaken. Lol I think if ur comparing cash cows? STRIKEFORCE may argue that FEDOR is there ticket, not hershel. Glad ppl decide to take their own spin on it tho, as if coker thinks this is his cement for success. Wow

by Daniel worby on Sep 24, 2009 2:53 PM EDT up reply actions

he signed tank when he knew he sucked just for ratings and it wasn’t to block strikeforce. i agree that some of the recent signings where for that but i don’t even know if they where trying to resign baroni he wasn’t even winning there.and kevin i never said they where big draws just guys he signs purely for marketing or what ever draw they have and not based on being able to compete do you think hersal is a big draw?

by roy on Sep 24, 2009 2:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Tank, Baroni, Brock (unproven), Chris Leben, Drops Thales Leites, Kimbo (if he wins 1 fight), Frank Trigg, Royce Gracie just off the top of my head without any thought.

But more importantly, beyond that he promotes fighters within the organization not based on ability but on marketability. Brock Lesnar goes 1-1 in the UFC and gets a title shot whereas Lyoto Machida and Jon Fitch have to win 6 and 7 times respectively before they get title shots. This sort of incredible inconsistency in the treatment of different fighters is why MMA as it exists is not a real sport.

Fighters like Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture who are on serious losing skids still get only “elite” competition and will never fight anything less than the main or co-main event.

The UFC is not a legitimate sporting organization and Dana should turn his focus inward before he goes around calling out smaller shows on doing the exact same thing he does every day. John G has a good post above where he basically says the exact same thing.

by frosnt on Sep 24, 2009 3:09 PM EDT up reply actions

I think hershal getting directly put on the ticker on espn the second he signs is bigger news or a bigger draw than Baroni, yes!

by kevin on Sep 24, 2009 3:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Look at the depth of their respective divisions first. I’m not saying that one win at HW is equal to 5 or 6 at LHW or WW, but when Brock came in the division was pretty thin. Not the case for Fitch and Machida. Besides, Fitch is boring.

by PW on Sep 24, 2009 3:27 PM EDT up reply actions

fact is frost everything he said is correct how he said is a is arragant but does anyone expect anything less? As far as Brock goes before he even fought his first fight I was telling everybody he was going to be the champ in the next year or two with his abilities and I got laughed by 70% of the posters on here who most of that 70% only knew Brock from the WWE but fact is anyone that knew about Brocks wrestling ability, athletic ability, endurance and his competitive nature knew he could do well in this sport not all of us agreed on how fast it would take him to get to were he is but we all agreed he had the tools to get there at some point. Kimbo is going through TUF at least but even so he has more fights under his belt in MMA and way more in street fighting how well will he do? The UFC is a ligit sporting event by the way that has held more fights in a month than Strikeforce can put on in a year with much higher calibure fighters anyone that thinks Strikeforce is not below the UFC calibure is pa plain and simple fool that doesn’t understand MMA.

by Puck Head on Sep 24, 2009 3:39 PM EDT up reply actions

bigger draw than Baroni, yes!

well thats probally why there doing it.

by roy on Sep 24, 2009 3:57 PM EDT up reply actions

by Puck Head on Sep 24, 2009 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah maybe the ufc will sign canseco since they have more football players and you will be praising dana for it.

by roy on Sep 24, 2009 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions

C’mon guys, anyone that completely agrees with Dana, and doesn’t think he does the same thing are just blinded. By the same thing, I mean do business based on marketing and money. You all can’t just brush frost’s good points to the side. Fact is, there’s not equal treatment of fighters in the UFC. They do things based on marketing, and there’s no arguing that. For Dana to act like Strikeforce is desecrating the sport is hypocritical. Look, Walker said he has always wanted to fight in MMA. He already trains in martial arts, and he’s an outstanding physical specimen along the lines of a Randy Couture. And by that I mean as far as the shape he’s in and the physical ability he still has at his age. Obviously I’m not comparing him to Randy as a fighter. My point being that we’re not talking about someone that’s going to fall over and break their hip. We’re talking about one of the best natural athletes of all time. Of course this is a marketing ploy on Strikeforce’s part. Just as having Kimbo on TUF is for the UFC. You can say it’s different because he’s on the show, but Dana is putting someone that he called a freakshow in the UFC, and you all know it. It’s not for the money or a freak show in Walker’s mind though. He wants to prove something to himself. And as the top MMA organization in the world, shouldn’t the UFC be held to slightly higher standards than Strikeforce anyway? I mean, Dana can say whatever he wants about what he’s done for MMA, but he didn’t event the sport and he certainly doesn’t have a patent on it. He’s not the MMA police, and he shouldn’t be trying to call out corruption in another precinct when he’s got a bunch of rats in his anyways.

by Diceman on Sep 24, 2009 6:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Cmon Diceman the day Strikeforce signed Fedor they started a war with Dana everybody knew that even though Strikeforce is no were near the UFC in quality, calibure and quantity of fighters they signed a guy they new the UFC wanted along with the UFC fans and most MMA fans by Strikeforce signing Fedor it showed they wanted to compete with the UFC and theres no argueing that fact as M1 & Strikeforce have both stated there are just as good fighters outside the UFC but the UFC doesn’t have the best fighter in the world. Not those exact words but somewere along thos lines. So Strikeforce wants to compete so be it they are going against Dana and the UFc so we all know there is going to be some words said by Dana no sense crying about it now Dice we seen what happened to Affliction didn’t we? I almost think Fedor and M1 are actually working for Dana sometimes?

by Puck Head on Sep 24, 2009 7:42 PM EDT up reply actions

Wes Shivers had like 2? He signed a WWE wrestler who had 1? Everyone knows this season is weak on talent just high on entertainment. I’m not defending Coker I’m only saying it’s the pot calling the kettle black. Dana is all about the $ and not about the quality of fighter, which you can’t deny.

by frosnt on Sep 24, 2009 1:44 PM EDT up reply actions

It’s the Ultimate Fighter, not a ppv show or a fight night frosnt. Besides, it is later revealed that most of the seasons are generally lacking in talent. That’s why they have the show, to try and find a few talented guys that will have staying power and one day be contenders.
And Brock Lesnar has turned out alright. We all know about his physical gifts plus he was a D1 national champion wrestler. It isn’t like Dana went after the Big Show or one those other freaks.

by Adam T. on Sep 24, 2009 1:59 PM EDT up reply actions

And that’s why STRIKEFORCE has challengers. Where in this column did it say that herschel is guaranteed a title shot? Where did it say he’s guaranteed a ppv slot? You guys are jumping all over FROSNT and he’s clearly just saying give coker a lil reach around when ur done with Danas balls.

Their doing the same thing. That’s all he’s saying. Its about signing em before some1 else does. More names on the roster. That’s it

by Daniel worby on Sep 24, 2009 3:04 PM EDT up reply actions

Crazy Bob Cook and the boys at AKA will gladly take Walker’s money. And I’d be lying, along with most others, if I said that I wasn’t intrigued to see how Walker performs in his fight(s). Don’t think it will be pretty though. How many 4th-6th degree black belts in martial arts do you think there are in this world. I would bet thousands and thousands of them. Big phucking deal.

by Adam T. on Sep 24, 2009 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t mind him getting into MMA if he wants too. What I don’t want to see is him being pumped as the next big thing like they did Kimbo. What bothers me the MOST is that TAPOUT is giving him a signature shirt. Seriously? TAPOUT is such a pioneer for the industry and has helped out countless fighters, but they are becoming SELLOUT.

by VNDK8 on Sep 24, 2009 1:45 PM EDT reply actions

If he goes out there and gets hurt it will be a bad thing. If Strikeforce is smart and feeds him bottom barrel fighters and just uses his name it could be a semi good thing, till he has to really fight a decent opponent, then refer back to a bad thing.

by Whyisitlegal on Sep 24, 2009 1:45 PM EDT reply actions

3 former nfl players, who are still young with experience, and an internet brawler who has mma experience, obviously, who’s also fairly young, is fine. Putting a guy pushing 50 yrs of age, with 0 combat training, and 0 mma experience, hell, 0 experience in any combat sport, in a cage is something different and stupid. That’s an insult to mma, ‘cause it’s like saying ANYONE can fight professionally in mma. Coker must be either fukin’ high, or really doesn’t give a shit about mma. If something seriously bad happens to walker (if he dies or becomes cripple for life), it could be bad for mma. Thankfully, this guy needs a license and i doubt there is a commission willing to give it to him. Also, if your fighting for SF and your not the main card, you get paid peanuts… his purse is gonna be like 1-2k most likely. Donation or not, its right next to nothing.

by PW on Sep 24, 2009 2:42 PM EDT up reply actions

by roy on Sep 24, 2009 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions

o ok, he has taekwondo. Big difference, he’s gonna do awesome being a pure taekwondo fighter, cause everyone know how awesome taekwondo is for mma. He’s gonna do taekwondo to take another HW down, then taekwondo them to submission, or gonna KO a striker with taekwondo. Oh wait, when was the last time the guy practiced or used taekwondo? Did he even win a taekwondo tournament? He’s the best taekwondo guy ever right? LOL. I don’t care if he’s a 69th degree black belt in taekwondo, it wont mean shit when he’s on his back eating elbows and fists as his last meal, or getting bashed in the head with his own arms after getting them ripped off. Is taekwondo supposed to be better than tai or boxing for striking? And pushing 50yrs old isn’t helping any of that either. Randy and Coleman are about as old, but they have decades of experience, and decades of real mma training. Your saying a 6th degree black belt in taekwondo, is valid combat training for mma? Yes, i agree taekwondo is a form of combat but it doesnt give the old guy any better chance of winning in an mma fight. If you think a guy almost 50 yrs old, is gonna win with taekwondo, your fukin’ retarded. Football is not a fukin’ combat sport, your running like a ram and push/pulling a guy down, throwing a ball around, or kicking them. Being skilled at kicking balls, don’t make you a good fighter, it gets you disqualified. Tackling and wrestling is 2 different things, yes, there is a difference. Tackling is pure offense, wrestling includes defense. To bet on a guy in an mma fight ‘cause he’s a better football player than his opponent is retarded. If walker was fighting anderson silva, would you bet on walker? cause he’s a better football player? LOL. You would bet on a guy with 0 mma experience over another football player that has won a few mma fights? And i believe 1 or 2 of them have about 2-3 yrs mma training with greg jackson. Yet you’d bet on the better football player… Good luck with that…

i didn’t read all that but i got the jist of it, would i bet on walker vs a mma fighter no, aganist one of the guys i have seen on tuf so far- i wouldn’t bet but i would give him a good chance to win. i guess we will have to see him fight to see if he has anything.

Jaime and Puck you’re just being ignorant. No one’s saying that TaeKwonDo is going to make him a champ. Jaime said he has no combat sport experience, which was wrong, and was pointed out. Being a running back in the NFL I promise he’s gotten hit just as hard as anyone in MMA will be able to hit him. Point is, he’s a martial artist that wants to fight. So the fuck what, get over it.

Walker’s opponent is obvious: The Black Dragon, Ron Van Clief.

by Space on Sep 24, 2009 2:00 PM EDT reply actions

I think Ron was 52’ish when he fought at UFC 4 in 1994, so if my math is right he’d be 67 years old this year. Could Herschel beat a 67 yr old man? Only one way to find out :)

by ToeLock on Sep 24, 2009 3:07 PM EDT up reply actions

LOL, thank god, Walker is fighting another loser. If its true and Walker is fighting Ron Van Clief, its a battle of old farts, Clief being 66 yrs old with an amazing pro mma record of 0 wins and 1 lose… LOL. Clief is a pure karate fighter and Walker is a pure taekwondo fighter… this must be the saddest bout in recent mma history… leave it to SF to put it together. So, anyone interesting in a fight between 2 geezers 1 pure taekwondo, the other pure karate, with a combine total mma experience of 1 lost out of 1 fight between the 2? I think Clief has less of a chance to get a license from a commission than Walker does.

He used the f word one time in an entire paragraph. I think he is improving. Besides, I’m pretty sure he is already well respected in sports. I happen to love his honesty and no holds barred approach. You always know how he feels about something or somebody.

100% agree, I’m tired of listening to other major sports figures babble on in their politically correct mumbo-jumbo. Dana shoots from the lip and its no holds barred with him, and you have to like that, if only for its entertainment factor.

by ToeLock on Sep 24, 2009 2:59 PM EDT up reply actions

In DW I trust. Couldn’t love that guy more. Rampage got his little, bitty fewings hurt. Tough sh*t. The truth hurts Quinton. He’ll come running back to Dana’s nuts just like Titty did, I mean Tito.

I have to agree with Dana, although not in his method or manner of delivery. Sure, Walker is a gifted athlete with a superior physiology over most normal human beings, but to begin an MMA career at the age of 47 is just ridiculous. I can just hear his old brittle bones snapping and the ligaments snapping the first time he gets arm-barred. And, if he’s got any nagging injuries left over from his football days, those will be exacerbated and exploited by anyone who fights him. Having a black-belt in Karate is not going to help him, except maybe for the fear factor.

by ToeLock on Sep 24, 2009 2:23 PM EDT reply actions

Walker is a black belt. Let him fight some young striker!

by yoda on Sep 24, 2009 2:24 PM EDT reply actions

a black belt mean nothing!!!
it’s mma, not a non contact tae kwon do match!

by kevin on Sep 24, 2009 2:39 PM EDT up reply actions

As long as they dont put in a wrestler he would be fine. Well atleast hold his own.

by yoda on Sep 24, 2009 3:15 PM EDT up reply actions

Let him fight Dana

by Bryan139 on Sep 24, 2009 3:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Dana’s $hit talking is getting real old, older than Herschel Walker.

by LLC on Sep 24, 2009 3:25 PM EDT reply actions

He just speaking his opinion and it’s refreshing to get a REAL point of view. Most other leaders are thinking something but give their usual, bullsh*t politically correct answer. Phuck that. WAR DW!!

by Adam T. on Sep 24, 2009 4:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Or they’re actually just not giant assholes like Dana is…

by Diceman on Sep 24, 2009 6:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Adam, you can now go shine Dana’s shoes now.

by LLC on Sep 24, 2009 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I heard H. Walker’s first fight will be against Joe Montana and then the winner of that fight will challenge John Elway for the Ex-football Has-Been Belt.

by yoshiman on Sep 24, 2009 3:40 PM EDT reply actions

If Walker really is fighting Clief, Coker is a shitbag for wanting to make money off 2 old geezers beating the shit outta each other. That’s just disturbing. It’s bad enough that he’s pulling this stunt with Walker, but to pit another guy that’s 66yrs olds against him is worse. One is pure taekwondo, the other pure karate, one has 0 mma experience, the other has 1 fight in mma that he lost. This is the dumbest bout in recent mma history. Coker must be desperate to make a bout like this happen.

by jaime on Sep 24, 2009 3:46 PM EDT reply actions

Please stop posting you’re making everyone more dumb. The Clief thing was OBVIOUSLY a joke. Good grief.

by Diceman on Sep 24, 2009 6:13 PM EDT up reply actions

I’d pay 100’s to see Dana fight someone. And gladly pay double after if he got ko’d bad

“The geniuses over at Showtime, these guys are the most arrogant, cocky, pompous jackasses I’ve ever met in my whole life”

Sorry Dana, that spot is already taken up by the UFC president.

by introvert on Sep 24, 2009 4:19 PM EDT reply actions

Seriously guys…has Dana ever said anything positive about anything MMA related other than his own company?

Aren’t you guys tired of his unprofessional antics yet?

How could an ex-football player (that nobody under 25 even knows) taking a shot at MMA “cast a negative light on the sport” more than arguably the most popular figure in the sport(Dana) acting like a complete douche in the press every day? Can someone please explain that to me, because I really don’t understand that logic.

by introvert on Sep 24, 2009 4:28 PM EDT reply actions

And you never will so why waste the time trying to argue with you. Your mind is made up just like mine is. You feel one way about Dana and the UFC and I feel the opposite. We’re both smart guys (I assume) and neither one is going to sway the other.

by Adam T. on Sep 24, 2009 4:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Here might be an answer to how an ex-football player taking a shot at MMA could cast a negative light on the sport.

http://www.herschelwalker.net/content.asp?title=ABC%27s%20Nightline%20Interview%20with%20Bob%20Woodruff&menuid=Interviews&contentid=ABC%20Bob%20Woodruff&id=112

Herschel Walker suffers from dissociative identity disorder — or D.I.D. — formerly known as multiple personality disorder.

Some people might see letting a 47 year old with a serious mental disorder fight in MMA negative. Especially if you read some of the disturbing details in that interview I linked to.

by BigDummy on Sep 24, 2009 5:42 PM EDT up reply actions

You’re not alone, introvert. I have been sick of Dana for a long time. If the guys over at Showtime are arrogant jack@sses, what does that make him??? He’s a total egomaniac, has the mentality of a 15 year old boy, and he cannot even articulate himself. I think he’d be hard put to express himself without using F_CK in every other sentence. Seriously dude, grow up, learn a little vocabulary or something.

I cannot believe that someone in his position behaves as unprofessionally and disrespectfully as he does. And he talks about other people being bad ambassadors for the sport??? If he doesn’t like the idea of Hershel Walker fighting, fine, but there’s no reason to be a dick about it and slam Walker and the other organizations. He’s such a child…

“Which athletic commission is going to let this guy fight?” The same ones that let Mark Coleman and Randy Couture fight is what i would guess

by Ground fighting is love making on Sep 24, 2009 6:37 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah that’s right, compare Mark Coleman and Randy Couture to Herschel Walker. Here we phucking go again.

LOL his name tells the story of what kind of MMA fan he is Adam.

Why doesn’t strikeforce just die off? The Showtime commentators suck and really don’t know what they’re talking about. I heard a commentator say that Muay Thai was the art of the eight limbs, which it is. But he said the 8 limbs were the feet, knees, elbows, and fists. Its the shins, not the feet! They need to study their arts.

Showtime needs to stick to soft-core porn!
