UFC Quick Pic: Jeremy Stephens Fight Night 19 'Knockout of the Night' over Justin Buchholz
Ouch. As bad or worse than the gash on Abe Wagner at last night's Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 premiere?
Take a look after the jump and make the call.

I felt bad for Abe…he sucks but I still felt bad…in fact I feel bad for any of those guys on Page’s team…could Page coaching against Jackson be any more lopsided

The answer to your question is no. And yes Abe was horrible.

Ae’s was way worse. Happy they stopped the buckholtz fight. I had a ton of money on stephens last night, and I needed him to win since I lost a boatload on Cantwell and Larson!

yea mcarthur, i dont think its fair that greg jackson is there. i mean i know that the coaches usually have the people they train with there helping him, but shouldnt greg jackson be an exception to that since hes considered one of the best, if not the best, mma trainer? rampages team is going to lack the proper training and ill bet that affects them greatly throughout the show.

John, I got raped by Larson and Cantwell as well. The only other fight I had money on was Maynard, whom I had parlayed with Larson. Lost both bets last night.

Rampage can pick whomever he wants (obviously) and Juanito was there one season right?
You don’t think Tiki is a good coach? lol

What’s Rampage going to do? Bring in the rocket scientists from Wolf’s Lair that had Bisping circle into Henderson’s overhand right and Kongo wrestle with Velasquez?
by PW on Sep 17, 2009 11:05 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
haha i know i know, but damn. i just like rampage and i think it sucks that he doesnt have the type of trainers rashad has.
by Rampage woooooo on Sep 17, 2009 11:07 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
They didn’t want Bisping to circle to his left and you actually could hear in between rounds in Bisping’s corner yelling at him for circling to his left and into Hendo’s overhand right. That being said Kongo’s wrestling is horrible and doesn’t seem to have improved since the Carmelo fight.

Both cuts looks sick, though I never like a fight to end by cuts, it always feels anti-climatic especially when they are caused by a glancing elbow.
Team Rashad should win easily, not only did Rampage make some awful picks (Sims, Kimbo), make an awful fight (Abe-John) and bring in awful coaches (Tiki) but Rashad is a much more intelligent fighter from a far superior camp. Rampage would be a much better fighter if he had a trainer as good as Greg Jackson and it’s a shame that he has never truly dominated the LHW division when he has always had the talent to do so.
Kongo’s wrestling will never improve, the guy should stick to K-1 because he has no grappling skills whatsoever. Wolfslair are an awful camp though.

Tough to get off the ground when Rashad is teaching his ole lay and pray tactics another boring ass wrestler. OH where are you Junie when we need you?

When the hell did Rashad Lay? I mean in recent memory? He’s knocked out his last 4 opponent…….
Don’t be a hater, and if you must, hate on Kimbo.

Except machida his last opponent…. Where he himself was ko’ed…

Rashad didn’t need to teach his fighter any clay and gray, John Madsen trains with Hughes and has only had 1 professional fight so he was always going to fight that way. It’s Rampage’s fault for picking a part-time fighter with no TDD or BJJ (despite Abe’s bogus claims to have some jits) against him, that guy had no business being on the show.
by David W-S on Sep 17, 2009 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
why didn’t Abe listen to Rampage?! this is what happens when u don’t get up lol
by TRIKZ on Sep 17, 2009 9:31 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Because Rampage wasn’t telling HOW to get up. Rampage blows as a coach. Rashad and Greg Jackson were giving very specific instructions on how Jon can either maintain or improve his position, and they were telling him when to strike and posture up. Rampage would just stand there all silent and say “get up”. Yeah, alot easier said than done. Maybe if he would have given him some tips on HOW to get up and out of that position, Abe would have been able to. If Abe had Rashad and Greg Jackson shouting his instructions I bet Abe would have been able to get up once.

yes. I thought the same thing. Rampage was a horrible coach. Yelling “you gotta do something” and “get up” doesn’t really do much. I did hear him tell Abe to push his feet against the hips and jump up, but Abe didn’t listen to that. too busy bleeding I guess.

Jon was horrible as well. I can’t believe that guy is trying to make a bid for a UFC contract, even worse I can’t believe they were proud to say that he was part of Greg Jackson’s camp. He sat in his guard and yeah he did some gnp, but I thought overall besides the big gash was relatively ineffective. He didn’t pass his guard or anything. That dude is going to get chumped the first time he fights some one with any kind of sweeps, ground game or take down defense. Wasn’t Abe an ex NFL pro? If so How can you lack so much takedown defense? The nature of the game, coming off the line is all leverage!

Marvin Eastman makes these cuts look like nothing.

was Buchholz cut from elbows? i was watching a clip on youtube where joe rogan was going off on some dumb boxing promotor and saying that he thinks elbows shouldnt be allowed. i kind of agree. i like th strikeforce rules of no elbows on the ground. even standing i think elbows dont have a great place in mma. they tend to cause cuts more the real tkos and im not a huge fan of them. those are both some nast gashes though. I think Abes is larger though

Abe fell for the same shit over and over and over again. It was embarrassing to watch. Madsen threw nothing but a left and immediate shoot.
by DDP on Sep 17, 2009 9:57 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Abes cut is way worse. He isnt a real fighter. I give him props for doing it and what not but when guys say " I have a real job" , they dont really fight with their heart like others.
Rampage is a terrible coach …

i agree, abe kept saying “in my real life”.. well what the hell is this, fake?? if you feel that you have something going good for you in your “real life” then get the hell out of the cage.

My favorite part for Abe was when he was with the doctor and the doc had the needle out. All Abe said was, “Is it gonna hurt?”
