Seth Petruzelli: 'Now that the UFC is having me back we will see' about Kimbo Slice rematch
Props: The UG
Quoteworthy:
"I did have respect for you, after our fight you said I was the better fighter. There were 3 times that we could have fought after the Elite(XC) show for you to get a rematch, but you declined all 3 times. Now you go on ESPN making excuses, saying the only reason you lost was that it was sprung on you the last minute and that you can beat me with one hand behind your back!!!! You can go F yourself ... maybe now that the UFC is having me back we will see for sure."
Elite XC-slayer, Seth Petruzelli, has a few choice words for Kevin Ferguson, following "Kimbo Slice’s" recent comments on ESPN’s "First Take." While serving as a last-minute replacement for Ken Shamrock, Petruzelli knocked out the one-time Elite XC posterboy in just 14 seconds one year ago, spelling doom for the struggling promotion, which quickly closed up shop and faded into the night. Now a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10, Slice will likely look to make his promotional debut on Dec. 5, 2009, at the TUF 10 Finale. Whether or not he’ll face another TUF competitor for the six-figure contract that night remains to be seen, but Petruzelli has recently been chirping that he’s been in touch with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva about a potential return to the Octagon. If that happens, will the fight go another 14 seconds? What say ye?

Interesting, if SEth can win 2 in a row and Kimbo can do the same, that could be fun,

I agree with Seth, he expects to win and should. this time I wouldn’t be surprised if he took Kimbo down and punished him on the ground. I’ve repeatedly defended Kimbo for seeming humble and well spoken, but I heard this on first take the other day (the one hand behind bak) comment and laughed. He got hit with a jab from a guy moving backwards and it knocked him out, maybe Seth should tie a hand behind his back!

Kimbo’s an idiot, I’m looking forward to seeing him get found out on TUF. I’m still expecting Kimbo to lose his first fight, if Rampage doesn’t pick him against Rashad’s weakest fighter then he’ll end up fighting Brendan Schaub and will get smashed in the first round. Kimbo couldn’t KO James Thompson, got KO’d by a jab from a mediocre 205lb fighter and has no ground skills whatsoever. He is going to get embarrassed on TUF and hopefully he will face Seth again and get beat again on the TUF Finale.

for sure Kev, I wouldn’t even expect a comment from Mir’s ego let alone a guy who has seemed pretty humble about the whole ordeal. Maybe even if he said man I got knocked out but I just know I can beat him and thats frustrating. would get the point across SO much better!
btw I was looking at your pics on facebook and added ya.

I am wondering if they brought back Petruzelli for a rematch at the TUF Finale? That would be the only fight that is interesting with Kimbo, if he did indeed lose before the finale as we all suspect.

I said they would bring Seth back to the UFC in thread last week so they could milk the whole remach, I bet after Kimbo gets beat on the show the UFC will announce that Kimbo will be fighting Seth on finally show

Thats a tough one. Kimbo all pissed off could be a fierce dude. He just got caught last time. I dont think he is great or anything, but the “Silverback” isnt any good either. It could go either way. Normally in a stand up fight, I would go with Kimbo I think. Its a close one for me tho

If Kimbo couldn’t really beat Thompson, there is no way in hell he could beat Petruzelli.

On Season 4 The Comeback nearly every fighter in the House fought on the finale.
I haven’t seen much of the other seasons but isn’t it usually like that?

How can seth claim that kimbo declined a rematch on 3 seperate occasions in eliteXC when the company went down immediately after there first fight?? what a false statement!!
by dabuffman on Sep 17, 2009 6:20 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I bealive he was tallking about other organizations.. maybe after elite xc folded some other smaller promotions tried to book that fight wanting to bank of the hype.

Kimbo is 3-1 and Seth is 11-4. Seth also has 10 victories by knockout/tko.
You are living up to your last name well.

i really don’t want to see this fight again. so Kimbo lost. yeah we all knew it was going to happen sooner than later. What would the rematch prove? that Kimbo is now “legit” and it’s a better fight than before? kimbo should fight new opponents…that’s why he’s in the ufc!

Kimbo is a joke, Seth exposed him.
If a jab from a 205 pound guy like Seth drops you, chances are you are garbage. (Walking backwards on 1 foot mind you.)
For Kimbo to make excuses is hilarious, he was trying to take down the ref after he got clipped with a jab, no wonder he has that giant beard to conceal his tiny little baby chin.
I really hope they match Kimbo up against someone like Todd Duffee just so he gets absolutely demolished.

dirty u obviously dont fight cause if u did u would kno wut kimbo was talking about…to b hyped 4 a fight n mentally ready n than they say the fight is off takes u right out of the mental state u were in…if ur head isnt in the fight bad stuff will happen…kimbo has been hit harder than that n not budge…it was a fluke knockout…n guarantee wont happen again in the rematch

yo seth had the same disadvantage…people have yet to say that…he had no idea he was fighting kimbo…kimbo was thrown at him at the last moment too…seth went from fighting a 205 guy to fighting a hw at the last minute…he wasnt prepared for that shit..
kimbo says he lost cause his opponent was replaced at the last minute…so is he saying seth won because seth’s opponent was replaced at the last minute? thats fucking retarded
by HellaHectic on Sep 18, 2009 2:26 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
figures kevin u cum in and clearly overlook wut i wrote to try n make a joke where in fact u just make urself look like a douche…congrats

Bottomline, Kimbo is a joke. He won’t win in the UFC, not many fat bums fighting there, besides Tim Hague. Last minute replacement or not, there is no excuse to be knocked retarded by a jab froma gay guy. I do fight, so hahahoho, whatever, don’t give me that shit about being mentally unprepared. When you get ready to step into a fight, you’re prepared for anything, cuz anything can happen. Kimbo’s a joke and was making excuses cuz he hoped the entire world wouldn’t how horrible he is. Kimbo is big and mean looking, that’s it. His glass jaw, poor overall skills and self indulgence means he will be killed by any single fighter, in any weightclass, currently under contrach for the UFC, besides Stefan Struve, Tim Hague, and Dave Kaplan. But anyother would demolish the fucking neanderthal.

It’s too bad that Seth took so much time off after winning that Kimbo fight since now all the hype that was around him is long gone now and he’s basically forgotten.
by Daniel Contogiannis on Sep 23, 2009 10:21 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
If anyone has done any google research you can see one of Kimbo’s underground fights against a Russian boxer, Kimbo clearly getting his Butt handed to him, before his Possey steps in to save him. Remember why XC went down, because they were telling them to keep the fight standing up, why to keep the hype.
Do I know who’d win? No idea but I’d like to see Kimbo go against a seasoned MMA fighter with no strings attached. See what kind of fighter he is, with no one watching out for his EGO!
