Andrei Arlovski ready for some payback on 'Bully Beatdown' (Video)
It's long been understood that a person who bullies smaller and weaker people is not a "tough guy." In fact, they're likely trying to compensate for their own insecurities. Even so, it's still hard to have sympathy for a bully.
Then I heard that Andrei Arlovski was going to be making an appearance on this season of "Bully Beatdown" on MTV and well, for once I actually felt bad for the bully and not the victim.
"The Pitbull" was called upon by host Jason "Mayhem" Miller to deal with a portly predator who gets his rocks off by pushing around a couple of smaller kids.
For Arlovski, it was retribution that was several years in the making:
"I am somebody that has always stuck up for my friends. When I was young, around 14 there were always kids trying to pick on me and my friends. Older guys that were bigger. Some of this is part of growing up but it was not fun and I don't care how many guys there were, I would always try and protect myself and my friends. My formal fight training didn't start until I went to the Police Academy and learned Sambo. When I heard about the MTV show, I thought it was a cool idea that these kids had asked me to help them with their bully."
And help them he did, en route to a lopsided "Beatdown" that may have this bloated bitch-slapper thinking twice the next time he wants to lord it over some hapless passerby.
Check out the former UFC Heavyweight Champion in action after the jump.

Do you like this story?

saw this promo yesterday and it’s so friggin lame it’s not even amusing at all. One of the “nerdy kids” has one glove on like Mike Jackson, I mean that right there should tell you it’s fake, who does that? I would’ve laughed if the fat slob KO’d AA!
by kevin on Sep 17, 2009 11:00 AM EDT up reply actions
he needs an asskicking for sporting that glove anyways. AA should have pinned his arms back and let the fatguy give him a pink belly until he swears off glovin’ it up

Lol from the comments it sounds like pit bull is the only one who doesn’t know the bully stories are fake. God help that poor stuntman.

Very cool, getting his name out there and kicking a little ass. For those here who apparently don’t know, AA is an awesome grappler, very fluid and heavy. A few signs have come up that despite his two last losses, he will be back in the UFC very soon.

Too bad this show was proved to be fake. The fight is real, but the victims dont even know the bully. The bullys were scouted separately.

They are actors who respond to a casting call
by Jesse Holland on Sep 17, 2009 10:41 AM EDT up reply actions
Yep, but they portray it as if it’s real. Kinda playing us for dummys.

What??? Are you telling me something that Jason “Mayhem” Miller is involved in isn’t on the level? That he would create a false drama just to line his own untalented Rampage-wannabe pockets? I’m shocked and appalled.

I, quite frankly, am embarassed, as watching the show only twice, thought it was real…..I mean…there ARE morons who would fight a pro fighter…

Also "When I heard about the MTV show, I thought it was a cool idea that these kids had asked me to help them with their bully."
Right there, that’s crap. There’s no actual bullys and he’s not helping any kids.

Damn near anything you see on MTV is fake, the same goes for Parental Control anything else they portray as “reality” TV

I didn’t realize that there were grown men that still watch mtv. The only time I even catch a glimpse of it is if my 7 year old is watching rod dyrdick. All those other shows are laughable at best..True Life I wanna be a girly girl, ok, so put a fucking dress on and heels and go suck a dick, there, I just avoided an hour show!

Gotta agree MTV is a joke. I do like Nitro Circus though, those guys are crazy.

i agree, kevin.~ mtv shows are crap, but rob dyrdek is the focking man!~ his shows are hilarious..
i have met rob several times, and he is exactly like that in real life.. one of the funniest and nicest guys around..
mayhem’s show is lame.. i only watched it once..

i forgot nitro circus!~ that show is off the hook!~

Some comedian was talking about that Tia Tequila dimwit..and said she was so stupid, she dumbed down MTV. Which, quite frankly would be difficult to do.
by chefdaddy on Sep 17, 2009 8:42 PM EDT up reply actions
Sounds like nothing embarrassing will happen to Andre. That’s good.
Is it me or do those kids NOT seem like your typical “victims” of bullying?
by Collin on Sep 17, 2009 10:44 AM EDT reply actions
just dont do the flying knee if you got knocked out by one of these guys your career realy is over
by THE ROAD WARRIOR noo nooow we go in! we go in! we kill them! on Sep 17, 2009 10:45 AM EDT reply actions
exactly, or let Tim Sylvia beat up the bully, with his luck, he’ll get a bully that is 48 years old, a grandfather with a belly, and can barely put a sentence together and get knocked out in 10 seconds………….oh wait………….

this show at first was kind of funny but not it like whatever. if the victims were real then it would be cool to see them get trained by real mma guys and then take on the bullies. that would be more interesting to watch imo.
by bobby o'shea on Sep 17, 2009 10:50 AM EDT reply actions
Agreed!
But it would be more time consuming, time is money and not to mention more money for trainers so it would never happen :-(
by Edgecrusher71 on Sep 17, 2009 10:59 AM EDT up reply actions
more money to get the real kid to train than to pay actors and real fighters? You think a trainer would get paid more than AA did?

I get pissed when they don’t give them enough of a beating(jake shields.

I would like to see how he was trying to do that armbar at the end. Seemed to me like he didn’t know what he was doing.
by WCMMA217 on Sep 17, 2009 1:09 PM EDT reply actions
who arlovski or the bully? it looked like arlovski was straight up stronger with better technique obviously and hes an ex sambo champ so who knows what move he was trying. but to say he didnt know what he was doing against THIS guy is a stretch. he probably looked like a christmas buffet to andrei. lulz @ the bitchtits.
by hex on Sep 17, 2009 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions
reverse armbar, you hug there hand to your neck and pull their elbow to your chest. basically you use your arms instead of legs
by connor on Sep 17, 2009 9:28 PM EDT up reply actions
It was a reverse armbar at the end and the whole thing is fake or AA would have just blasted him with punches.
by hatteras on Sep 17, 2009 2:17 PM EDT reply actions
Umm have u even watched the show? It’s one round grappling w/o strikes followed by another which is basically a kickboxing match. And it’s been established the actual fights are not fake.
by Hex on Sep 17, 2009 3:03 PM EDT up reply actions
Exactly. Mayhem says this is MMA, and it’s not… at all. It’s parts of MMA, but they stand alone. Which makes this show a grappling match, followed by a kickboxing match. IF they do a season 3, which I figure will happen whether we want it or not, they should do a straight 2 of 3 round MMA fight. Forget the jiu-jitsu and kickboxing.
by Craig on Sep 17, 2009 4:04 PM EDT up reply actions
i can’t imagine why he wanted to beat up that dude with the friendship bead wristband.
by axhed on Sep 17, 2009 6:53 PM EDT reply actions
Am I the only one that thought it was real? I’m so gullible.
I did find it a little odd how EVERY bully acted like he was going to beat the fighter, and every bully apologized at the end.
by Dave on Sep 17, 2009 9:26 PM EDT reply actions
bullys are fake, fighting is real. I really enjoyed watching AA knock that kid out. Ends his losing streak haha
by big G castle on Sep 17, 2009 10:02 PM EDT reply actions
That should be entertaining to watch!
