I’m really rooting for Belfort in this one. He’s such a genuine nice guy and the fact that he’s always been super talented but lacked the mental strength held him back. Training at Extreme Couture really seems to have gotten his head right and I’m looking forward to seeing him in action on Saturday.

In no way should Rich be sold short. The man is a warrior who is always willing to fight anyone. The man is a true fighter and is tough enough to compete against 95% of the fighters in 2 weight classes. Vitor is the Phenom. Enough Said! This is a very tough fight to call but IMO the most likey outcomes are Vitor by KO, or Franklin by decision. If Vitor is right mentally, which I believe he is, I think he will kO Franklin. Like you said, hand speed, accuracy and punching power should be too much for Rich to overcome. Skill wise, TODAY, Vitor is the best fighter that he has ever been. He is a much better fighter then he was when he terrorized the UFC back in the day. If he can be as mentally tough as he was back iin the day, he will be a very tough fighter to beat. His wrestling and Jits has come a very long way. Franklin is lucky that he is comfortable standing with anyone, because I dont think he would be able to get the best of Vitor in wrestling and Ju jitsu aspects of the fight. Vitor should not waste time, he needs to try and take Rich out during every second of the fight. He needs to end it no later then the second round. The longer the fight goes on, the more Franklin will batter his legs and body with those brutal kicks and it will start taking a toll on vitor, making him less effective. Thats what Rich does. He cant really KO too many people, so he just systematically BREAKS people down. Vitor needs to fight with a sense of urgency, because he cant just let Rich sit on the outside and blast kicks at him, because if that happens, Rich will win the fight!
As a betting man, getting Vitor as an underdog is just too much for me to pass up on. I am betting money on Vitor (assuming I dont see any red fags at the weigh ins) but not a lot of money on him. Its a close match up. Probably bet him straight and throw him on a parlay!

I think all the shit with his sister being behind him has really helped his game more than anything else. 3-0 since that case was finished. Not too bad.
I am pissed that the interviewed didn’t even ask shit about the fight. I don’t care what Vitor thinks about Rampage, that has no bearing on anything lol, ask him about Rich.
Vitor would smoke Wand again if they fought, Wand is not what he once was.

Putting that behind him has definitely helped tremendously

I like Belfort, but I’ve been a LONGTIME Rich Franklin fan. Since I first got introduced to UFC, Hughes and Franklin were always my top 2 guys.

So you’re, what, 18, 19 now? I have to tell you Syn, you have a lot of intelligent and well-written posts on here, considering you’re a young punk kid, probably up to no good, with your skateboards and loud music.

PW, you have pretty nice posts yourself, considering you’re like 40yrs old with your family van and country music.

lol. I’ve become famous enough to have the name-jacker steal my name now. That wasn’t the “real” me up there.
But yeah, 19 PW.
And WAR HUGHES! lol.

I’m 34 a week from Saturday, and yes I like my country music. Texas country only, though, not that Nashville pop garbage. And my 70s and 80s rock.

Synyster/PW, I have to call this a draw. Very entertaining though.

Vitor is a stand up guy. Very nice to see fighters that dont have anything bad to say about other fighters. Refreshing for sure

I agree. Same can be said for Franklin. Two of the nicest guys in the sport…which is why I hate to see either of them lose! I wanna see both of them make a run for the belts in their new weight classes. I’m only rooting for Vitor because I have been a fan of his since the earliest days of the UFC and have always wanted to see him return to his former glory…and because I think he has a lot more to lose in this fight since it’s his first fight back.

I really want Vitor to win this, nothing against Rich but am a big Vitor fan. If Rich does win this, think he deserves a proper fight at 205 with the winner getting a title shot. I know some people will say that he is far off a title shot but if you take into account that would be two big wins in a row at a catchweight 195 plus a desicion loss at 205 against Hendo ( which i personally think he won ) then i would say he is deserving.

Plus the lack of another clear cut #1 contender

I’m sure Frank and Lorenzo love that nickname. Sounds like a Doo-wap group.

Notice how he didn’t come right out and say Fedor is avoiding the competition but still implied that he’s avoiding the best competition…
