But he’s ok, he did that surgery because of a nose problem and that’s important. The rest is rest, the guys joke with him and that’s normal."
-- UFC Middlweight Champion Anderson Silva has a little fun with the new looks of his Brazilian counterpart, Wanderlei Silva, in a recent interview with Tatame.com. Not too long ago the Silvas entered into a war of words when the "Axe Murderer" announced his plans to compete in the 185-pound division, setting off heated back-and-forth banter that made it seem as if a major rift was created between the former training partners. That's no longer the case -- "The Spider" indicates that it was just a "misunderstanding" and that everything is now "okay." So "okay" that Anderson can joke about Wanderlei's recent procedure on his face, which he underwent to remove scar tissue around his eyes to avoid future cuts and fix his nose to correct a sleep apnea problem. He certainly does look a little different, but the "Lara Croft" similarity might be reaching just a bit ... don't ya think?

He ain’t ducking nobody. It’s just that the top 2 contenders aren’t really worthy right now because bot h of ’em got owned when they met the Spider.

Hendo- Stop ducking Marquardt. They both lost to Silva convincingly…make them prove who deserves the shot.

Spot on mate, both Hendo and Nate are as valid contenders as each other so what makes Dan so special that he supposedly deserves another title fight. I want to see that fight at 105 but that card looks full now with Couture-Vera as the main event, hopefully Dan stops whining and demanding more money because I want a definite title contender at MW.

That’s exactly right, guys. Silva has already proven himself against both competitors. If they want a rematch so badly then let them square off and only the most deserving will earn that shot.

yeah and then Silva can screw around at 205 when he never wants to fight Machida, that makes such great sense.
So instead of 2 title defenses at 185 he will have 1 and then possibly Vitor if he doesnt lose to Rich. (unlikely) and after that he will have nothing to do at 185 until 2011.

Then Spider moves up to light-heavy where he can take on a bunch of challengers for the first time, more intriguing fights.

There is a number 1 contender n his name is hendo. He beat franklin n bisbing who were both 1 win away from title shots…he already earned it

He beat Franklin at 205#. Bisping was a fight away from a title shot because there was noone left in the division. Bisping was a self proclaimed contender and never broke the top 10 and imo never broke the top 15. What earned him that spot beating Leben, McCarthy, Or Day? So HEndo at 185 only beat Rhouse Palaharese(sp) and Bisping. Neither are top 10 nor top 15, and at best hoovering near the 20’s. MArquardt beat Maia(the Legit top #5), Goveiea and Kampman who are both sitting on much better resumes and imo ranked higher then Bisping. He lost leites but at least that was someone that actually fought for the title. So if you actually go over each one of there bodies of work at 185# then Marquardt has beaten the much better fighters in that division. Palaharse and Bisping ain’t worth squat and are still completley unproven at 185#…

Hendo def deserves the title shot. But where does it say that he didnt want to fight Marquardt… he said he would fight in November if the money was right and he didnt know the purpose of him fighting Marquardt but he would. Regardless Hendo is not scared to fight anybody, so throw that out the window u fruits.

I’d much rather see him get bounced out of the class. A loss to Kang and he is back to fighting nobodies, has beens, and never was…That is much more demoralizing and much more satisfying. Look out STrike Force here come Bisszzzzping!!!!!I don’t know how well he will do there even. Lawler would KO his pitty pat arse, Kung Le(if he ever stops being a movie star and get his priorities together)would ko his arse, Shields would sub him, Diaz would out strike him and swell up his already self swollen noggin, Shamrock would school him….So maybe back to Cage RAge in all actuality and making a career off of Beating The Peoples Champ Ross Pointon!!!!
