Bitetti Combat results and quick recap

The Bitetti Combat "Nordeste 4" mixed martial arts event from the Ginásio do Maracanãzinho in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Sept. 12, has come to a close.
It was a card stacked with recognizable names of former Pride FC veterans, including Ricardo Arona and Murilo Rua -- both of whom were victorious at the event.
Nordeste 4 also had its share of past UFC fighters including Jeff Monson and Marvin Eastman. They however, did not share the same fate as "The Brazilian Tiger" and "Ninja."
Monson was looking to make it eight straight while simultaneously avenging a 2007 loss to Pedro Rizzo when he squared off against "The Rock" on the main card. "The Snowman" was diligent in his attack; however, Rizzo wasn't having any of the ground game and managed to outpoint Admiral Anarchy with effective striking for his first win since a technical knockout victory over Monson back at Art of War 3.
Eastman was also game for his appearance, but like Monson, was shut down by the offense of Ricardo Arona. "The Beastman" went down on the judges scorecards for his third loss in four attempts.
Not to be outdone by his Brazilian comrades, former WEC middleweight champion Paulo Filho defeated IFC veteran Alex Schoenauer -- also by unanimous decision.
Not that it mattered.
This night belonged to Murilo Rua, who damn near decapitated WEC and Pride FC vet Alex Stiebling with a series of punches that followed his tremendous head kick.
Is Ninja back?

Short of a few jabs he really got nothing off the whole fight.

This card was so damn easy to bet on. I am so pissed that I couldnt find odds anywhere.
Wonder how Arona and the steroid donkey looked. Happy to see my boy Ninja pick up a win…was it a nice finish?
Monson is the heavyweight Jardine. So damn inconsistent!

I was only able to catch the last two fights. It seemed like the crowd was booing Filho after they announced him the winner, and the Arona/Eastman fight wasn’t that great either. I mean, how good, or bad, can one look against Marvin Eastman?

Fights were horrible. Arona still can’t finish to save his life. And everyone including myself will keep on his bandwagon hoping he fights under “elbows allowed rule.”
Leo Vieira vs Luciano Azevedo was a sick fight. Best fight on the card.
Monson’s frame is too easy to pancake if you’ve got decent reflexes. Filho still doesn’t know how to strike. Chocolate keeps wasting his talent with these types of underwhelming performances. He gave that fight away.

I got to agree with ya. The fights that I’ve seen were horrible. Do you have a link for the Vieira vs Azevedo fight? I heard the same that it was the “fight of the night”.
You couldn’t say it better… Filho still doesn’t know how to strike. Though I wasn’t expecting much improvement in less than 2 months, but still, you can tell by observing him fight, that he’s got non existent stand-up and he will probably stay like that, for the next 1 or 2 years.
Arona was the same as usual but he got a good reason to haven’t improve much in the last 2 years. His passing guard were great but Eastman is not known as the guy with the best defence in the game either.
I was expecting Rizzo to get a UD so it’s not really a surprise to see him beating Monson again. True Monson’s a dwarf with short arms, so he’s really easy to pancake for someone taller and heavier than him.
Nice Head Kick for Ninja.
NNR, BTW the ADCC will be a PPV all the weekend (6 to 8 hr/day of streaming)

Man I can’t find the Vieira fight either. Ninja showed up as a fat f#ck and he said am back to LHW. My first thought was retarded idea buddy! As always thx for the grappling hookup. I am still exciting even with all the dropouts. Can’t wait to see Toquinho. I am hopin they replace Roger with Werdum or Maybe bring get Pe De Pano or somethin. But i am think they’ll get Lister to do it.

I didn’t see it, but now I wish I did. Pretty good list of names for such a small org.

If you saw that kick, it was in no way devastating.
Filho and to a lesser extent Arona looked like crap.

Where abouts did you watch this event? Do you know if its available online anywhere?
Also, didn’t Dana say a few months back that he Monson maybe coming back to the UFC? Guess this hasn’t helped his cause!

I wish Belfort and Nog would have fought their fights before going to the UFC. Both of them could have used the wins.
by Bill Maher on Sep 13, 2009 9:12 AM EDT reply actions
Yeah, Belford and Nog(Rogério “Minotouro” Nogueira)would have fought their fights before going to the UFC. It was a great event in Rio de Janeiro. Now we waiting for UFC in Brazil again. We deserve this because we have the best fighters in the world. We are ready to receive a big event like UFC.

What kind of shenanigans are afoot with two guys nicknamed Chocolate?
by PW on Sep 13, 2009 9:45 AM EDT reply actions
it’s too bad none of these guys will be allowed into the UFC. if Dana stays true to character. the reason? they fought in an octagon that wasn’t “The Octagon”. I can see Mr White drawing up the lawsuit this very minute.
