I don’t think diaz has good enough wrestling to get it to the ground.

wasn’t that a controversial win for Melvin? I recall alot of people calling it bs that he won.

6 out of 7 of melvins losses were from submission, I like the kid and think he is talented but he needs to learn to defend the submission…if he hasn’t learned it yet…diaz will submit him in this one too.

dont think so buddy. if melvin stands with him no way, nate doesn’t have the physical power to bully melvin around and take him down. This is going to be one sided unless melvin gets tired

That “pap-pap-pap” punching technique just won’t cut it against Guillard’s haymakers…

Melvin will win this fight. I was on the fence about this for a while but i am set now. Now who’s got some good cocaine jokes?

I don ’t have a good cocaine joke, but it looks like a battle of coke vs. weed in this fight to see who can stay off the undercard.

I am never sold on Melvin. You never know what you are going to get. Nate is always prepared. Melvin has the tools just never seems to put them together at the right time. He excells againt the nobodies but stumbles with all the names. I think Nate will be able to pull off some slick as WD-40 submission to win the fight.

Off topic…I went to the site with the pics and found out that the green power ranger, Jason David Frank, is about to jump into MMA. He’s no Kimbo, the dude is 6th degree black belt and blue belt is gracie BJJ…but the dude is 34. I am interested on how he does, but he should’ve done it sooner. What do y’all think?

this guy should jump into MMA… I love Sub-Zero!

I guess after Randleman came out in Stevensons corner he stopped dying his hair after him.

Hopefully, they knock each other out at the same time.

What fuck is with all these Diaz by sub comments. How does Diaz exactly plan on getting this to the ground.
Nate Diaz has ZERO wrestling.
Melvin by UD or TKO.
Let’s be real here. Nate Diaz has crappy striking and awesome BJJ, but he couldn’t secure a takedown to save his life.

Melvin doesn’t seem like the brightest tool in the shed, Diaz can fool him into a ground game
by Crackbaby on Sep 13, 2009 7:44 AM EDT up reply actions
Nate may not be a skilled wrestler but his takedown strengths are in trips and pulling guard. Nate is really slick off of his back, always throwing up sub attempt after sub attempt. He maybe one of the busy fighters off of their backs in the UFC. Guillard gets carelessly aggressive at times, hence how 6 of his 7 losses are by chokes, 5 of those by triangles. Triangles at this level get cinched because fighters A- get careless or B- Feel they can power their way out. Obviously Guillard is a sucker for the triangle. He could and probably will get sloppy or confident in Diaz’s guard and now 7 of his 8 loses will be by choke. Diaz is super crafty with his submission attempts. As much of a powerhouse that Guillard maybe he is no where near the the back humper that Guida is, nor is he as smart of a fighter as Joe Stevenson which are Nate’s 2 losses in the UFC. That is how I figure it is going to happen. Guillard historically loses after putting together 2 or 3 wins, time is up…

diaz doesn’t need to secure a takedown. it goes to the ground because melvin is notorious for overcommitting on his strikes.

diaz is not strong enough to do anything to melvin. melvin by tko

Melvin’s less-than-stellar intelligence will be his downfall in this fight. Diaz by vicious armbar in Rnd 1.
