UFC Quick Quote: Maybe Fedor Emelianenko 'just wants to keep his perfect score' outside the Octagon

Fedor punished

"I don't know (why he didn't sign with the UFC)," Filipovic said on the UFC 103 media conference call. "I like Fedor very much as a fighter and a man. To tell the truth, I don't know him enough that I could say anything more.... I don't know if somebody controls him, if he has the power to express his wishes to go wherever he wants. Maybe he has to do what some other people tell him to do. I don't know. I don't know the situation, but I really don't understand his attitude. I really don't know why he doesn't want to enter the UFC.... I know the UFC offered him the best possible deal to date. They offered him much more than DREAM or Strikeforce can offer. I think he should (have taken) the shot, but what are his reasons? I don't know. I don't think he's afraid of someone, but maybe he just wants to keep his perfect score. Maybe he thinks the competition in the UFC is too tough; I don't know. I think he should come (to the UFC), but why is he not there? I don't know. I respect his wishes, but I would definitely like to see him there."

-- Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic talks (via Canoe.ca) on today's UFC 103: "Franklin vs. Belfort" media conference call about Fedor Emelianenko's decision to sign with Strikeforce rather than compete under the UFC banner. Cro Cop and Emelianenko met in one of the most highly anticipated heavyweight fights at Pride 33: "Final Conflict" back in 2005. Emelianenko pressured the Croatian and kept him off balance for much of the bout to earn a clear-cut unanimous decision on the judges scorecards. That's not to say Cro Cop didn't have his moments (see post-fight picture above). It appeared that the pair was on a collision course to rematch one year later at Pride: "Final Conflict Absolute;" however, Emelianenko was forced out of the tournament because of an injury. It's still a rematch that most mixed martial arts fans would like to see, but it may not happen anytime soon because of the different paths that they chose for their careers. Is there still any lingering hope -- or desire -- to see Emelianenko vs. Cro Cop 2 ... or is that maybe too much of a risk for Emelianenko? Who knows. It appears that the only one who does is the man himself. And maybe that's all that really matters.

i’d like to see him off the P4P list, u can’t fight medium level fighters and expect ppl to think ur the best in world, with the guys that fedor fights he will be in the top 10, but i don’t think he deserves to be in the top 5..

Well said Cro Cop well said but remember he seen what happen to you in the UFC.

The point is he has the guts to try and fedor dose not seem to have a pair like Cro Cop

I am with Shadow. Fedor NEEDS to prove himself. I never thought I would say that but I did and you all should too.

i love crocop but saying anything like this is just stup*d…yeah dana is behind all this…anyweiz, just wait mirko your conqueror will be there…and by the way focus on your fight and not with someone else’s decisions…

it’s true though and not the first fighter to say so I like Cro Cop honesty he’s more of a man than Fedor ever will be.

by Beaver on Sep 9, 2009 2:37 AM EDT up reply actions

His own brother was outspoken about his decision to not go to the UFC. Crop Cop even thinks what alot of us think, That he is answering to a much more evil and sinister, MAN! He is a puppet.
Pull them little strings and I’ll sing you a song, I’m your puppet. Make me do right or make me do wrong, I’m your puppet

by Da Monkey on Sep 9, 2009 4:39 AM EDT up reply actions

He hasnt been fighting medium fighters lately, but sans a fight with Josh Barnett he’s sort of ‘out of fights’ outside the UFC. If he joined there is at least 3-4 compelling fights for him in the UFC.

I think he’s already proven himself, but if he wants to answer all the questions he needs to clean out the UFC HW division and within 3 fights he could do that.

by ShaiZ on Sep 9, 2009 12:13 AM EDT up reply actions

OK enough of the pound for pound talk!!!!!! Answer me this question please anyone!! How can anyone that only fights in one division be considered a pound for pound best fighter over fighters who fight in multiple weight classes? Anderson Silva, BJ Penn will fight you at any weight. Those are pound for pound the best fighters IMO!!

by getrawbc on Sep 9, 2009 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions

beat all the top hw in pride at the time and a shyt load of cans but he hasnt really faced any top competion since mirko crocop in 2005 since the nhes faced 7 guys that really arent at all top competition first wagner martins (lol that fat fuck has more losses than wins) then Mark coleman ( who is an ols man that should be fighting at lhw and is) then Mark Hunt (again moe losses then wins) then matt lindland (who is a great fighter but come on he is a natual 185) then
Hong man choi (lol again) then tim silva ( lol he was a ufc champ when the hw division was a joke and then gets knocked out by ray mercer)and last Andre Arlovski ( Pob his best competion and like timmy was a champ when the ufc hw division was a joke also lost twice to timmy and has a glass jaw and still had Fedor backing up untill he stupidly threw that flying knee)
But its up to u guys who think Fedor is still p4p king u think he still deserves it? I belive Silva is p4p king but is he suddenly started fighting comp like fedors last 7 opponents he would loose his p4p status for sure at least in my opinion you have constantly be fighting the best to prove your p4p #1

When Fedor faced Sylvia and AA, they were considered top competition. Barnett was considered #2 by most people when he popped positive, which was not Fedor’s fault. So to say he has been facing medium level fighters is not fair or accurate. It is disappointing he is not fighting in the UFC, but he still has one of the most impressive records the sport has ever seen.

by stevo on Sep 8, 2009 9:02 PM EDT reply actions

but he still needs to beat brock to be the best, brock has been fighting guys on a roll, only fighting guys comming off big wins, fedor not so much..

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 9:10 PM EDT up reply actions

Don’t you have to beat the best to be the best? That would mean that Brock would have to beat Fedor, not vice versa.

by Diceman on Sep 8, 2009 10:03 PM EDT up reply actions

But is Fedor still the best if Brock is #2?? How do we know Fedor beats Lesnar hands down unless they fight??

by O damn he got caught on Sep 8, 2009 10:48 PM EDT up reply actions

O Damn: Fedor is until someone beats him, also that is a big “IF” to suggest Brock is #2. The question might be what would make brock #2? I don’t think beating Couture, Herring and a rematch with Mir would qualify anybody as being Number #2 I would make a case that Nog is #2.

by TheSaint on Sep 8, 2009 11:21 PM EDT up reply actions

nog is definitely #2 hw in the world!~ no doubt!~

one loss dosen’t move u back!~

by stinky~fingers on Sep 9, 2009 12:19 AM EDT up reply actions

Yes, one ass whipping DOES move you back. He got bitched by Mir, and then Mir got bitched by Brock. And please, no more excuses and crying about Nog’s loss… it was a loss… period.

by John on Sep 9, 2009 12:34 AM EDT up reply actions

TheSaint — Check the Sherdog rankings. Lesnar #2, Fedor #1. I agree with Sherdog.

by MMACrossfire on Sep 9, 2009 9:13 AM EDT up reply actions

Ok John, but Lesnar got beat by Mir also, so where does that leave it?

by Diceman on Sep 9, 2009 12:31 PM EDT up reply actions

MMAcrossfire: Just because you agree with Sherdog doesn’t make it a fact. Besides what has Lesnar done that is so much better than what Big Nog has accomplished. Big Nog is 4-1 in the UFC and Lesnar has the same record with a loss to the same guy.

by TheSaint on Sep 9, 2009 1:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Your right saint it’s all opinion until they fight each other but common sense comes in to play for how valid some opinions are. Brock lost his first fight in the ring against a top ranked fighter but looked good in doing so and has looked better each time he entered the cage, NOG on the other hand has ton of experience some believe though he was not near his normal self but none the less lost the fight. Brock came back and won four straight including the champion and NOG has won one since against Couture by decision and very dominate stand up were NOG must of hit with three or four gut KO potential strikes were brock KO him with one. Right now we have two fighters we can compare NOG and Brock to as of late and I think common since will tell you the champion is the better of the two.

just a bunch of weekend wwe schoolboys…he needs to prove himself by fighting brock? lol!

by gaara on Sep 9, 2009 12:53 AM EDT up reply actions

We didn’t know it at the time, but AA and Sylvia weren’t top competition anymore when they fought Fedor. Their fights since then have shown us that. I give Fedor credit for stepping up and fighting them, but their poor performances since fighting Fedor have devalued his victories.

by prokstar on Sep 8, 2009 9:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Prokstar: If I recall, AA did beat Rothwell and won his last fight in the UFC before they cut him so I don’t believe that he was not a top flight competitor. Tim Silvia obviously took a paycheck since the UFC couldn’t market him since no one likes him and he was defeated by Couture and Nog.

Also, the poor performance after someone loses is naive at best, so using your logic, Couture is now a bum since he lost his last two fights in the UFC. And also according to your logic we have to devalue Brock’s win over Courture now that he is 0-2 since he came back to the UFC.

FAIL

by TheSaint on Sep 8, 2009 10:55 PM EDT up reply actions

I think Prokstar was referring to the fact that AA got knocked out in 21 seconds and Big Tim got knocked out even quicker after their losses to Fedor. As opposed to Randy who lost against a beast and then a legend.

by WB on Sep 8, 2009 11:04 PM EDT up reply actions

You been served up on a plater prokstar. Burnt

by bigmcmac on Sep 8, 2009 11:07 PM EDT up reply actions

WB: Actually he says that they weren’t top competitors anymore WHEN they fought Fedor and then he proceeds to talk about what happened AFTER they lost ot Fedor. That doesn’t make sense.

True, Randy lost to a beast (one-dimensional Lesnar) and a legend but Mir has wins over both of them and he is not great at all. In fact you could say AA lost to a beast (one-dimensional Rogers) and a legend (Fedor). Could Randy beat AA? Would be an interesting fight at this point.

by TheSaint on Sep 8, 2009 11:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Lets get it straight here….EVERYBODY on this site has been bashing Timmy for yrs!!! Tim was NOT top competition! AA is a bit better, but with his glass chin it was a Kimbo style gimmie fight for Fedor!

Anyway, like i said b4….WHO CARES…Fedor is going down against Brett Rogers!

by ToeLock on Sep 9, 2009 12:39 AM EDT up reply actions

Toelock: Expolain to me how one dimensional Rogers is going to beat the wellrounded undefeated Fedor, who has NEVER been knoocked out OR submitted.

by TheSaint on Sep 9, 2009 2:32 AM EDT up reply actions

Oh so when Fedor KO’s Rogers I guess everyone will be saying Rogers had no place in the ring with Fedor. Just like they were saying about AA after his fight with Fedor but before all the haters were saying Fedor will get schooled by AA’s superior boxing.

Whatever man, I’m just not interested in peoples bitter opinions on Fedor anymore. He will be going to the UFC WHEN his 4 fight contract has expired otherwise I will agree he is a pussy unless there is some serious contractual issues they cannot work out.

Fedor’s fought the best. He needs not fight Brock to fight the best, he’s already beaten the best. If anything, Brock needs to fight Fedor to fight the best.

by Belisarius on Sep 8, 2009 9:13 PM EDT reply actions

sounds like ur mouth is on fedors crotch, brock does’nt try to act like hes the best, he fights to test himself, fedor only fights once in a blue moon in promotions who treat him like a god and give him everything, only promotions who cud maybe fix his fights, i am not a brock fan but i respect the fact that brock lesnar fights to prove to himself and not to hav a great record..

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 9:17 PM EDT up reply actions

and u proved urself wrong wen u said “fought the best”, yes he fought the old best, but he has yet to face gonzoga, mir, LESNAR, congo, cain, carwin and even though randy is one of those used to be the best guys fedor has been ducking him for years, fought the best and fighting the best are 2 very different things,..

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 9:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Seriously!? You think Gonzaga,Mir or Kongo, rank higher than Nogueira ( who you conveniently left off this list) are even top 10?! Look I am pissed that Fedor didn’t sign with the UFC but there’s no need to talk crazy.
Exactly how are all those fighters you listed going to stop a guy like Fedor? Nogueira couldn’t do it in his PRIME and he had three chances. CroCop couldn’t do it in his PRIME, Heath Herring couldn’t do it in his PRIME, yet now we are to believe guys like Carwin, Cain, Kongo, Lesnar, etc can without half the experience and skillsets of those other guys I mentioned who got OWNED while in their prime?!

Stop the insanity!!!!!!

by TheSaint on Sep 8, 2009 9:54 PM EDT up reply actions

i did’nt mention nog because fedor already beat him, yes i know, im not saying these guys wud win, i can’t even say they wud lose, my point is we don’t know if he cud beat them because hes not fighting them, and my main point is YOU CAN’T BE THE BEST BY FIGHTING THE FORMAR BEST YEARS AGO AND NOT FIGHTING THE NEWEST BREAD OF GREAT FIGHTERS, brett is a good fighter but does a win over a up and commer really make u the best heavey weight in the world, obviosly not..

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 10:07 PM EDT up reply actions

guyver: Using your logic, then I can’t say that Anderson would beat Jardine because they never fought? I think we all know who would win that fight.

Also, Fedor is the best heavyweight in the world because he beat the best in the world. Are you really going to say five fights into his career that Lesnar is the best in the world?! That would be a ridiculous comment to make.

Finally how do we know that Brett isn’t one of the "new breed fo great fighters….he would qualify if Cain and Carwin qualify. Brett beat AA which is equivalent to Cain’s win over Kongo and Carwin’s win over Gonzaga.

Lol my comment has nothing to do with his like or dislike for Fedor. The only reason I said that is because he said he doesn’t even care if Fedor is yesterday’s news. If that’s true(which obviously it’s not), why keep talking about him? I don’t really care if people like guyverbob talk smack about Fedor because they don’t bring any type of rational thought to the discussion.

by Diceman on Sep 9, 2009 12:39 PM EDT up reply actions

just out of curiosity, if brock, or gonzaga, or shane or whoever, became a free agent right now, or the next year or so, and didn’t sign with wherever fedor was, would you say that they were dodging fedor? probably not. You would all say its different and blah blah blah…and maybe it is different maybe its not…but the point is this whole he is scared nonsense and he hasn’t fought the best and turns out aa and sylvia weren’t the best is just repetitive and boring. If you really want to play this game then who has fought the best? brock? he fought mir, herring, coture, mir again…lost to mir the first time, beat herring (so did fedor) … so that makes him the best not fedor? why becasue fedor hasn’t fought mir and couture and brock has? well brock hasn’t fought a lot of guys so he isn’t the best..carwin has only beaten gonzaga, gonzagas only top win is cro cop…so who has truely fought more of the best than fedor? and I’m not even trying to say fedor is the best just showing why this all b.s. I can discredit anyone as fast as you can discredit aa or sylvia

Guyver: You think that Brock Lesnar is a role model of a pure martial artist?! Pleez! I suggest you watch the Fedor Vs Nog fight. It will help you understand the reason for Fedor’s inclusion in the P4P list. He beat Nogueria up while in Nog’s guard….NO ONE has ever done that!!! Whether on the feet or on the ground NO ONE has solved the puzzle that is Fedor. That’s why we talk about him. He will eventually end up in the UFC, you watch.

by TheSaint on Sep 8, 2009 10:11 PM EDT up reply actions

not what i said don’t make up words, i said he fights whoever whenever, thats all im giving lesnar..

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 10:45 PM EDT up reply actions

you could say the same about Fedor

by TheSaint on Sep 8, 2009 11:33 PM EDT up reply actions

You could say that about Fedor it is just the whoever portion is extremely limited. Saying no one has solved Fedor yet is a mis-statement as he has not fought a large majority of the “modern” HW MMA division. He chose to stay out of the UFC for suspect reasons. The claim of it being a business decision is shady. By proving beyond doubt his supremecy in the UFC he would of made more money and done more for the sport than possible in Dream or SF.

As for your comments on Lesnar being a pure martial artist… Huh? He is as much of a martial artist as Matt Hughes, Rashad Evans, Randy Couture, and others that came from wrestling backgrounds. Acting like he does not qualify to be in MMA is rediculous.

Fedor is getting ready to turn 33 this month. By the time he is done with SF he will be 34 maybe going on 35 and have fought who Overeem? Not in the US. Grim? Rediculous for him to fight this guy. Werdum? why? He will prove nothing by beating anyone out there. Overeem has made himself irrelevant by ducking fights. Barnett has no credibility anymore. Rogers will be shown to be one dimensional in his fight with Fedor. Those three fighters are ranked 7. Barnett, 8. Overeem and 10. Rogers in the HW division in the world. Everyone else besides Fedor is in the UFC not to mention the next TUF show was made to build the HW division.

Fedor fighting in the UFC for the first time at the age of 35 or 36 takes the pressure off of him. That way if he loses he can still have an excuse.

by ASR on Sep 9, 2009 9:57 AM EDT up reply actions

Finally, somebody who is talking sense….Agree with ffffff. I was actually hoping for a better argument than Fedor is ducking someone or the “can” theory which can be made about every fighter except maybe Couture who has never had an easy fight as far as I can remember.

Your argument and point are POINTLESS. Brock is willing to fight anyone, including Fedor, he’s even called him out. Fedor isn’t willing to fight anyone worth talking about. He fights in these rinky dink organizations where most of the guys are all ufc has-beens or wanna-be’s. % years ago he was fighting the best, not anymore.

by Wes on Sep 9, 2009 12:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Okay Wes explain to me how my point is pointless. You are going to have a tough time proving who Fedor isn’t willing to fight. You have no facts to back up that claim.

by TheSaint on Sep 9, 2009 2:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Him and M1 hand pick his opponents if he fought in the UFC we the fans would have more of a say in who he fights. In Strikeforce he is facing Rogers who is not really proven with only one win over anyone considered decent and rogers should really be fighting Werdum, AA or Overeem to improve himself and make sure the AA was no fluke but of coarse Fedor would like to take Rogers on first just incase Rogers does improve. Fedor should of fought one of there best experienced fighters first even though it does not prove much setting up a match against a better Rogers if Rogers is what some believe he is.

how many “I don’t know” can one man say

by Nick on Sep 8, 2009 10:04 PM EDT reply actions

haha like when he lost to gonzoaga he said “i don’t know” like 5 times..

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 10:09 PM EDT up reply actions

At least he said Fedor isn’t scared of anyone. Now maybe the sheep will agree for a change since it’s a UFC fighter saying it.

Agree with introvert here.

“I don’t think he’s afraid of someone, but maybe he just wants to keep his perfect score.” Same shit scared of losing his padded record.

hey knucklehead have some respect when you speak

if ufc got fedor and mousasi it would be great
but see guys mousasi is kind of in a similiar deal as fedor he cant really f*** around either

by albert on Sep 8, 2009 10:22 PM EDT reply actions

ut not very smart at all, but i wud love to see gegard in the ufc, theres really no where else for him to be and if i was in control of the ufc i who realy go for him, and y not get arlovski hes really good and he almost beat fakedor and rogers was jsut a bad match up for him..;

by guyverbob on Sep 8, 2009 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions

arlovski has no chin pointless to bring him around
right now only mousasi is the fighter they should go for….
thiago silva vs mousasi :)

by albert on Sep 8, 2009 10:59 PM EDT reply actions

No chin? Or no chin when Fedor’s fist slams into it? I think Arlovski’s chin is fine. Fedor nailed him picture perfectly and very hard. Rogers caught him; wasn’t clean, but was solid enough to weaken his knees. Not to mention, Arlovski made the stupid mistake with Rogers to move straight back, which we hear over and over is a rook boxing habit.

by MMACrossfire on Sep 9, 2009 9:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Fedor shouldn’t waer so much eye make-up, it makes him look cheap!

by Sofa-King-Toasty on Sep 9, 2009 12:30 AM EDT reply actions

Fedor just doesnt like the UFC. If Fedor was ducking he wouldnt have fought Nog, Crocop, Arlovski et all. I hate it that Fedor didnt sign w/ the UFC but im tired of hearing this.

Crocop should win some fights before he goes on saying what Fedor should do. Fedor has knocked out his last 2 opponents. All Crocop has done was poke the eye of a can and call it a win.

by big_evil on Sep 9, 2009 1:00 AM EDT reply actions

Cro Cop is not telling Fedor what to do. He is merely giving some theories as to why he didn’t sign with the UFC, speculating. No where in this interview does he tell him what to do. He simply answers a question that was asked to him. At least he has the balls to answer it from a fighters point of view, not some politicaly correct, we are the world answer that many fighters give nowadays. I like that he answered honestly and openely. Mock Cro Cop all you want at least he has the balls to test deepest waters.

by Da Monkey on Sep 9, 2009 6:27 AM EDT up reply actions

IMHO I still say cro cop gave him his best fight…would like to see a rematch, but it ain’t happening soon…

by Drew C on Sep 9, 2009 1:07 AM EDT reply actions

Fedor’s #1 ranking NEEDS to go down. He is not worthy of such a title until he joins the UFC and beats their top heavy weights. Fedor can be #2 or 3 though. But definitely not #1.

by anom on Sep 9, 2009 1:14 AM EDT reply actions

Anom; So if Fedor isn’t number one then who is?

by TheSaint on Sep 9, 2009 2:39 AM EDT up reply actions

Good luck getting that answer from the sheep. They all say he isn’t number 1, but won’t say who they think is. I wonder if it’s because the only name they can come up with is the 4-1 Brock?

by introvert on Sep 9, 2009 9:49 AM EDT up reply actions

So many threads on this topic, but most ignore the most obvious thing. The HW division as a whole, regardless of which organization, is still BY FAR the weakest division in terms of talent and depth. Some criticism of Fedor is fair. Most is not. Save for Lesnar, despite his inexperience, there is no other HW that exists in the UFC or anywhere else that Fedor wouldn’t be a prohibitive favorite against. This laughable notion that the UFC has lengthy list of stud HW’s that could compete with Fedor is Grade A bullsh*t. Aside from Lesnar (maybe), the UFC’s next best HW commodity is Nog, whom Fedor has already defeated more than once. To be fair, there are a couple prospects in the UFC that may become the goods, but they have A LOT to prove before they should even be mentioned as top guys, let alone as legitimate threats as the best in the division.

by CL on Sep 9, 2009 11:44 AM EDT up reply actions

agree with Introvert and CL. Politics more than anything is what is holding Fedor back. I don’t pretend to know the particulars but from the outside looking in, Fedor is being mismanaged or allowing the mismanagement to continue. Athletes do this all the time then they fire their agents. Remember how Vera was mismanaged and rampage by Juanito or even Couture when he thought he could “retire”.

It might take awhile but Fedor is still young and hasn’t taken much damage so it is not impossible for him to make it to the UFC once things playout at SF should his managment or his values change.

by TheSaint on Sep 9, 2009 2:12 PM EDT up reply actions

It is funny the bashing some of you give Cro Cop when all he did was state an opinion. He didn’t say anything disparaging, he didn’t say he would kick Fedor’s ass, he merely stated he thought Fedor should have signed on. Stop hating for no good reason.

by Five Finger Death Punch on Sep 9, 2009 1:32 AM EDT reply actions

U Guys all need to calm down – U were all dogging Brock a year ago saying he shouldnt be in the UFC now U all think he is GOD and can beat fight Fedor – Gimme a break, Fedor would own him! – Then who does he fight Randy,NoG, LOL! If he ws dogging fights he would not have accepted Barnett who is no.2 in HW- not Brock!!He dominated the UFC’S champions in AA,SYLVIA AND HAS BEATEN- CRO COP, NOG X 2 , COLEMAN X 2, LINDLAND,RANDLEMAN,ARONA – Fedor is fighting 4 his family and his country and doesnt care about stupid, ignorant idiots talking crap!! when u dont know half of what goes on!!!!

by BigBill on Sep 9, 2009 3:45 AM EDT reply actions

who gives a sh1t bou fedor anyway he’s a pussy..i just cant wait for brock vs carwin thats a much better fight!!

by harv on Sep 9, 2009 6:44 AM EDT reply actions

“who gives a sh1t bou fedor”

Anyone who knows anything about MMA.

by introvert on Sep 9, 2009 9:50 AM EDT up reply actions

I’ve said this before, if Fedor fights in the UFC, he will get KTFO. The fighters of today are too evolved for Fedor’s puggie ass. I would bet my entire paycheck that Machida would beat Fedor.

by MMANIAC on Sep 9, 2009 11:19 AM EDT reply actions

BROCK HASNT PROVEN SHIT & DUZNT EVEN BELONG IN THE SAME SENTENCE AS FEDOR!!

by d*locc on Sep 9, 2009 12:34 PM EDT reply actions

That’s an easy one. Because HW devision doesn’t have a weight limit. So, in effect there can be 50 lb+ weight difference between fighters. Would BJ wanna fight someone this much bigger than him???

by buzzer on Sep 9, 2009 5:54 PM EDT reply actions

Wow! I didn’t know many american kids were so thickheaded. Just cos UFC is american they support it and when UFC champions lose to Fedor, they say it’s cos they were has beens. While it is true that Fedor’s opponents’ toughness and quality are lesser than pre-2006 it is stupid to say that Lesnar, a 4 fight athlete is on the same level as Nog much less Fedor. The 1st match between Fedor and Nog has been called one of the all time greatest matches. Cro Cop is a nobody in the UFC now but he is past his prime which was prior to 2006. He fought Fedor in his prime when he was considered one of the best and yet he lost to Fedor. If it is record you look at, Brett Rogers has 10-0 and lesnar is 4-1.

P4P title belongs to Fedor only because he has defeated people weighing all the way upto 350lbs. I don’t consider non-HWs anyway. Weight should be immaterial in a fight. But it is true that for some kids here unless we see a Fedor-Lesnar fight they will never stop mouthing off.
