2010 is only 4 months off, so no biggy really if he’s back earliy 2010. But from what I’ve heard they don’t know yet if he will be out for weeks or months, elbow injuries are not usually that complex (or lengthy).

Shocked at the disrespect for WAND in here. Silva is one of, if not the, greatest warrior of all time. I for one am glad he had the surgery to help with his performance levels. Can’t wait for his next fight.

bryce I was thinking the same thing. It is so humbling to see these guys out of the ring. In the ring with the name the Ax Murderer, his killer aggressive, foward foward style, mean mugging his opponent in the center or across the ring. Then you hear them like this, in a blog or an interview completely soft spoken and humble. Thanking God, wanting to give no namers the opportunity of a lifetime! It is like no other sport. The cocky, brash, mentality of many other athletes and sports are completely upstaged by the MMA athlete. Other sports could and should take a page out of the book that mma athletes live by for the most part. The ego seems to be for the ring/cage not everyday life like many other sports. How many other sports do you see such a high level of violence and respect all in one. One minute you are trying to break someones arm or puch/slash kick someones head of their shoulders and in the very next second without hesitation they are helping the very same person up and back to their feet and giving each other hugs and respect. I hope, that as this sport grows and becomes more popular the athletes maintain their level of respect. I love the fact that the most popular fighters in this sport are still easily approachable. What are the chances of talking to your favorite football or baseball player? Really the only other sport that can be somewhat compared to MMA is hockey. The overall hockey star generally stays pretty grounded and approachable.

Yeah, love him or hate him Wand always brings it – dude is a warrior in every sense of the word. I noticed in the Franklin fight that a cut above his right eye had caused the eye to swell up and it seemed like that eye was partially shut. If these surgeries have corrected these issues and others, we can expect some more brutal KOs at 185. Hell, if he returns to Pride form he can beat Anderson – sounds far-fetched I know but Wand can take a punch and KO anyone with one of his own haymakers.

Always good to hear from Wand. I don’t understand why so many comment on the looks of his face when he is a fighter not a F’in model for magazine covers. Wand has a good look for a fighter and the fact that he is a nice guy makes him not look ugly to me. Kos looks like a treasure troll doll and he’s a jerk so yeah he’s ugly to me, but Wand is a cool guy.

glad to here he is breathing and sleeping better. sleap apnea must be life altering.
goes to show everybody deals with challenges in life when I see these guys train being at the highest level of physical fitness possible because there is no one in better shape than these guys I think man they must feel at a 25 on a scale of 1 to 10.
If I get less than 6 hrs sleep it affects my whole day.
sleep, quality food, exersice, prayer/meditation, doing what makes you happy/ finding your passion you gatta have them all
