UFC Fight Night 19 weigh in event details and information for 'Diaz vs Guillard'

The official weigh-in event for UFC Fight Night 19: "Diaz vs. Guillard" is set to take place at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

It is scheduledto air LIVE on UFC.com, as well as on several other online destinations, via streaming video. The first fighter is expected to tip the scale at 4 p.m. CT.

MMAmania.com will provide the most up-to-the-minute coverage of the UFC Fight Night 19 weigh-in, as well as provide a detailed recap of the festivities as soon as they conclude.

"Diaz vs. Guillard" will feature a main event between hungry lightweight up-and-comers and former TUF grads Nate Diaz and Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard.

In addition, Roger "El Matador" Huerta will throwdown for perhaps the last time inside the Octagon as he tries to leave on a high note against the stifling super-wrestler Gray "The Bully" Maynard.

Remember that UFC Fight Night 19 will serve as the lead-in for the upcoming tenth season of TUF, which features Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and a solid collection of 15 other heavyweight fighters competing in a tournament-style format to earn one "six-figure contract."

Here’s the complete line up:

Star-divide

Main event:

155 lbs.: Nate Diaz (10-4) vs. Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard (22-7-2)

Main card:

155 lbs.: Roger "El Matador" Huerta (20-2-1) vs. Gray "The Bully" Maynard (7-0)

170 lbs.: Carlos "Natural Born Killer" Condit (22-5) vs. Jake Ellenberger (21-4)

Under card:

185 lbs.: Steve "Robot" Cantwell (7-2) vs. Brian "All American" Stann (6-2)
170 lbs.: Chris "The Professor" Wilson (14-5) vs. Mike "Quicksand" Pyle (17-6-1)
185 lbs.: Dan Miller (11-2) vs. CB "The Doberman" Dollaway (8-2)
155 lbs.: Sam "Hands of Stone" Stout (14-5-1) vs. Phillipe Nover (5-2-1)
155 lbs.: Jeremy "Lil’ Heathen" Stephens (15-5) vs. Justin Buchholz (8-3)
170 lbs.: Brock Larson (26-2) vs. Mike Pierce (9-1)
185 lbs.: Ryan Jensen (13-5) vs. Steve "The Hooligan" Steinbeiss (4-2)

For those in "The Sooner State" that week, remember that the weigh-ins are FREE to attend and open to the public. Doors to the weigh-in will open at 3:00 p.m. local time.

In addition, fans will be able to attend a Q&A session with TUF 9 champ Ryan Bader on that same day at about 2 p.m local time.

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the main card action on fight night (Wed., Sept. 16), which is slated to air at 8 p.m. ET on Spike TV from Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.

Of course, the latest quick updates of the prelim bouts will begin to flow earlier than that right here at around 6:30 p.m. ET.

Remember to check out MMAmania.com for all the pre, during and post-fight UFC Fight Night 19 coverage you can handle!

Agree with all of those; tho why Diaz vs Guillard is the main event is beyond me.

by O damn he got caught on Sep 2, 2009 3:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Just about to say that Huerta Maynard to me should be main event.

by R3b3L iNk on Sep 2, 2009 3:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Huerta vs Maynard is the main event to me or should i say Huerta is the main event, he’s easily the biggest name on the card..

by RoBerto on Sep 2, 2009 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions

huerta will lose

by roy on Sep 2, 2009 4:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Only if he gets humped for 15 minutes.

by PW on Sep 2, 2009 4:31 PM EDT up reply actions

do you think he won’t pw? he is going to be dry humped for 3 rounds no problem. it sucks i like him better than grey but thats what is going to happen and he can’t do abything about it.

by roy on Sep 2, 2009 5:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Why does everyone think Maynard is still Lay & Pray? Did you see his last fight vs Miller? Dudes face looked like hamburger meat.

by WB on Sep 2, 2009 5:17 PM EDT up reply actions

i think he has some boxing but if huerta gets the better of him there it will be down to the ground with him.

by roy on Sep 2, 2009 5:24 PM EDT up reply actions

sure, he won by stand & pray over Miller, he didn’t really put any combos together only used his reach to pick him apart.. Huerta throws kicks, knees, and vicious combos, he’s also good with submissions even though Gray has good defense

by RoBerto on Sep 2, 2009 5:30 PM EDT up reply actions

can someone please explain why larson is still fighting cans? the guy is a beast and a future contender

also is huerta back for good? or is he leaving after this? can anyone fill me in

by ufcaddict on Sep 2, 2009 5:55 PM EDT up reply actions

this is his last fight thats why the gave him grey to make sure he leaves with a loss.

by roy on Sep 2, 2009 6:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Can someone explain who the FOCK Condit’s opponent is with NO NAME but a 21-4 record? i want to bet Condit real bad, but betting against a no name guy with that kind of record, scares the fock out of me!

pretty sure Huerta’s gone, thus booking him to fight a stylistcal nightmare in Maynard after a year long lay off!

Take this parlay to the bank! and dont say I never do anything for you guys any more:
-Diaz (hungry coming off of losses)
-Maynard (year lay off will kill huerta)
-Miller (Doberman chokes against good submissions(dog collars)
-Lil Heathen
-Cantwell, evolved much more then Stan since their last 2 battles!

That 5 fight parlay will NOT LOSE!!!!!

They’re just easin’ up on Larson.

AS for Huerta, hope he has worked extensively on his wrestling[TD and TDD]because IMO, his wrestling looks like “scramble wrestling”. He better work on his TDD because once Maynard gets him to the ground, he’s gonna literally bully him! Poor Huerta, hope he wins!

by Syd on Sep 2, 2009 6:15 PM EDT up reply actions

lol, some of you (will remain nameless) crack me up! “He didn’t lay and pray his last fight,” so know Maynard isn’t boring. I’m not a Huerta fan at all, but I hope he wins this fight. Pretty sad when I’m rooting for a guy I can’t stand!
I’m a fan of both Nate (not as much as Nick) and Melvin, but am leaning towards the young assassin in this one, not that I think he won’t get choked, but after the last performance from Nate, I kinda hope he gets viciously KO’d so maybe he’ll take the fight game a little more serious and not get so complacent!
I’ll tell you what, Quarry and Condit really round this card out nicely, and it’s free… I’d pay for this card if it had a real main event, the under card is stacked (in my opinion)!

by kevin on Sep 2, 2009 6:39 PM EDT up reply actions

All i know is that the last time huerta foguth a LnP guy he submitted him (guida)…and im waaaaay more excited for the mainevent then I am for cung le jr.( huerta) vs LnP exspert greg maynard

by JG on Sep 2, 2009 6:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Can’t complain great way to start out TUF i can’t wait to get a look at some of thes big boys in action should be a great season with these to coaches.

by Puck Head on Sep 2, 2009 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

tell me how the Halloween 2 movie was when you’ve seen it kevin…

by RoBerto on Sep 2, 2009 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

don’t answer to this, I saw your response in the other thread.

by RoBerto on Sep 2, 2009 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

JG, please don’t compare Guida and Maynard for Maynard is really an animal in the strength department. Guida is just relentless…

by Syd on Sep 2, 2009 7:43 PM EDT up reply actions

accually i think guida Lnp is more exciting lmfao

by JG on Sep 2, 2009 7:52 PM EDT up reply actions

john, i saw him in the ifl he looked alright. i think he is a wrestler if i am not mistaken he has fought about 5 decent fighters going 1-4 in those fights.

by roy on Sep 2, 2009 7:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Guillard as a main event…..way to reward a complete “hump” of a human being.

by chefdaddy on Sep 2, 2009 9:04 PM EDT up reply actions

Huerta sucks, he just throws wild hooks and swings from miles away. Doesn’t set up anything, always just ugly fighting. And it works against the steady stream of cans they gave him. But anyone with a technical edge smashes him which is what Maynard will do to him.

by NameNotRequired on Sep 2, 2009 11:06 PM EDT up reply actions

one sure thing is maynard is ganna make huerta look really bad

the fights that stood out for me is when maynard dominated miller and edgar with ease the only fight that will give him problems is someone who has top level striking with great TD defense and the only lw who poseses that is bj after this win I would like to see him fight stevenson

I really believe he has the most potential in his wieght class

by dia mette on Sep 3, 2009 3:39 AM EDT up reply actions

diaz
condit
huerta

the three are lock ups

by gaara on Sep 3, 2009 12:47 AM EDT up reply actions

I don’t see any way that Melvin wins this. Has he even evolved his game? How long as he been inactive?

Nate by sub, easily.

Huerta loses this, easily. Long inactivity + a lay-n-pray opponent = guaranteed loss.

Quarry will TKO Tim. Tim leaves his hands down too much and has no head movement.

Condit should be headling this card with a bigger name but his opponent’s record is crazy good…

by OJR on Sep 3, 2009 9:47 AM EDT up reply actions

Dawm im really looking foward to this fights I hate rogger huerta so I hope he looses but at the same time I dont want maynard to win either he needs to get knocked down the list I dont want to see him in a tittle fight

by Nor Cal Mexican (formely Philicutioner) on Sep 2, 2009 3:40 PM EDT reply actions

Lay N Gray can’t beat BJ anyway so let them fight. I wanna see Gray in a fight where I wanna stay. I can’t stand his fights. His last one he stayed standing but even that was boring.

by jay on Sep 2, 2009 3:53 PM EDT up reply actions

I remember a sceen from TUF when BJ was Gray’s coach and BJ just absolutly manhandled him in training. I was actually laughing it was so bad. You know Gray still has that in the back of his head. He would lose to BJ before even entering the Octagon.

by BNF on Sep 2, 2009 3:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I bet if maynard and nate diaz fough again the same outcome would happen….diaz triangle

by JG on Sep 2, 2009 11:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Why make the Cantwell/Stann rubbermatch and then throw it on the undercard? Stann should be cut as soon as he loses.

WAR The Young Assassin!

by Ermac on Sep 2, 2009 4:08 PM EDT reply actions

Shouldn’t he be about due to change his nickname to The Assassin?

by PW on Sep 2, 2009 5:00 PM EDT up reply actions

He’s still pretty young…He should drop the “Young” when he’s like 29, hehehe!

by Syd on Sep 2, 2009 7:16 PM EDT up reply actions

He lost to Tibau. Seriously no idea why he’s the main event.

by frosnt on Sep 2, 2009 6:28 PM EDT up reply actions

I’d rather see diaz vs gray and melvin vs Huerta. Melvin is hardly worth a main fight.

by VNDK8 on Sep 2, 2009 4:26 PM EDT reply actions

both of those fights have already happened

but the one fight that would definitely go the other way I feel would be the diaz/maynard rematch

by dia mette on Sep 3, 2009 3:42 AM EDT up reply actions

THE TRASH TALK IS GOING TO BE EPIC. Diaz wins on the ground, of course, and the worthless assassin will yammer about ‘guys not standing up and banging’ again.

But I’m looking forward to it, for sure. I’d I’m also looking to Maynard to outpoint Huerta.

by Sir Chokemout on Sep 2, 2009 4:42 PM EDT reply actions

I’m curious to see how gray can hold huerta down, guida and kenny couldn’t do much and he got up, let’s not forget huerta has decent subs and nasty knees and kicks when ppl shoot in on him.
It tough but I definately hope roger wins.
Diaz (tho I hope melvin kos him)
Huerta
Quarry
Condit
Stann

by phenomenal angel on Sep 2, 2009 4:53 PM EDT reply actions

I’d like to see most of the prelim fights, curse you UFC for not showing them.

by elotsip on Sep 2, 2009 5:19 PM EDT reply actions

if Maynard can stop huerta then he deserves the winner of Penn vs Sanchez

by braveheart on Sep 2, 2009 5:49 PM EDT reply actions

Maynard needs a big win. Huerta would be big but another win first. Maybe against Florian or Sherk.

Hard to see Diaz losing this one. He needs a win badly.

by Kdog on Sep 3, 2009 5:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Lytle Would have beaten Condit!! I could hear Condit’s sigh of relief when he heard lytle was out

by Deez31 on Sep 2, 2009 6:05 PM EDT reply actions

This is how goes it:

-Diaz via sub
-Maynard via bullying[Go Matador!!]
-Crazy via mental beatdown
-Condit via whatever methos the natural born killer wants to use
-Robot via rocket launchers
-The Professor via strikes
-Miller
-Nover
-Bucholz
-Larson
-Hooligan[I like the nom-de-guerre]

by Syd on Sep 2, 2009 7:13 PM EDT reply actions

I agree with all but one the main event I see a KO for Melvin

by RonnyRAGE on Sep 2, 2009 8:14 PM EDT up reply actions

guillard is a fcking scumbag junkie i hope diaz chokes him out and holds on for 10 seconds extra after he’s out

by Lester The Pimp on Sep 2, 2009 7:29 PM EDT reply actions

I would rather see Diaz vs Huerta.

by Danny_c on Sep 2, 2009 7:46 PM EDT reply actions

My picks -

Diaz
Maynard
Quarry
Condit

by Jase on Sep 2, 2009 10:06 PM EDT reply actions

i was just thinking…………… wierd how clementi who was on an impressive 6 fight win streak until he met up with tibau and maynard.

and one of his wins was a dominating performane over gilard and yet hes not even in the ufc anymore and the other is the main event
