We all know Silva’s gonna KO him!.. Jardine is too weak, and he does not move well at all! his performance against Rampage was pathetic, he throw jabs from outside the octagon and threw pathetic pillow kicks..

If Jardine’s performance against Page was so pathetic, what does that say about your mighty Rampage? He barely won that fight and was badly rocked at one point.
by Jeremyjackson on Aug 27, 2009 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
he threw jabs* not throw.
I like to talk smack before the event, if you wonder why i had to be so harsh (if you’re a Jardine fan) but what i’m saying is also true..

ok jeremy jackson.. you should see with more detail the fight between page and jardine.. that shit that u are saying (rocked) was beckause page trow a leg kick and losse balance.. see it again

well, he still won easy on his worst day, and that’s a strength.. I think many ppl thought it was closer then it really was b/c of the biased commentary during that fight..
by RoBerto on Aug 27, 2009 8:50 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Right, the punches Page took in the jaw when he turtled up against the cage were the result of a leg kick. Whatever you say, Helen Keller.
by Jeremyjackson on Aug 27, 2009 8:51 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
well, he won easy on his worst day, and that’s a strength in itself.. I know many ppl thought it was close when they listened to the superbiased commentary during that fight, but it wasn’t..
From what i understood Rampage got kicked in the balls, went back in action too early and paid for it..
by RoBerto on Aug 27, 2009 8:54 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
JJ, let’s rewatch the fight if you can.. from what i can see only 1 punch got through his guard when he had his back against the cage

while we’re at it..
Silva 1st round TKO
Couture 3rd round ref stoppage
by RoBerto on Aug 27, 2009 8:59 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Anyway you slice it, that fight was close. I’m no Jardine fan but the guy gets the job done. I thought both Vera and Rampage were gonna blow right through him and he surprised the hell of me. I don’t think Silva is anywhere near that level. Thiago hasn’t beat anybody that’s even top 15. He’s still riding high off that Houston win, which in retrospect wasn’t impressive at all.
by Jono on Aug 27, 2009 9:00 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
yeah, It’s real close when one guy gets knocked down what was it 2 or 3 times? and throws jabs from outside that aren’t even close to hit, and his legkicks were thrown while he was backpeddaling 90mph
by RoBerto on Aug 27, 2009 9:02 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
from what i can tell, they’re giving him alot of praise just cause he’s Rashad’s teammate and they feel bad for him cause nobody cares, so they have to try extra hard to make fans understand who he is..
by RoBerto on Aug 27, 2009 9:04 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Randy by UD and Jardine by TKO. Silva is over rated and his stand up sucks.
by DB on Aug 27, 2009 9:04 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
So Jardine’s standup is good? please, i’ll go out tomorrow and find tons of guys that would rush him and put him out..
by RoBerto on Aug 27, 2009 9:06 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I agree it doesn’t look good RoB, but it’s so unpredictable that a lot of guys seem to have a hard time dealing with it. It’s not textbook by any means, but it has thus far been undeniably effective. And at least he knows what a kick is, something Rampage has apparently never bothered learning.
by Jeremyjackson on Aug 27, 2009 9:09 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
So is that why 2 of the 3 refs said Jardine lost it in the last 10 seconds???
Is that why Rampage couldn’t finish him???
Or is that why Thiago hasn’t beat any1 worth mentioning?? Trust me JJ’s opinion is the least biased on this site. U guys watched with hate in ur eyes. Jardine went 3 rounds with the #1 contender.
I’m with DB, Silva is hugely overrated. Dean of Mean will eat a few and catch thiago when he comes in unprotected to try to capitalize.
And that was Rampage on his worst day ROBERTO??
So what Rampage was it that lost to Wandy 2x and especially to Forrest most recently? That was him in his PRIME I’m confused.
Or ur just spouting off @ the mouth. ur wrong

I legitimately think Rampage is one of the worst people in the LHW division and one of the most overrated fighters in the entire UFC. I would bet on so many people over him.
by frosnt on Aug 27, 2009 9:43 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Silva 1st round TKO (2nd round for sure maybe 1st)
Couture 3rd round ref stoppage ( highly doubt it, Couture is not knock for his striking, also not known to have Knock out power) Couture may grind out a win with his wrestling, but big Nog will more likely knock randy out or submit him while couture tries to use his wrestling. Nog is the better boxer hand down, he also train with two of the best strikers in the world, Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida, Coutures Wrestling plays in Nogs jujitsu, Nog by 2nd round KO or 3rd round submission.
by TysonHarris on Aug 27, 2009 9:51 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Rampage is ONE OF THE WORST PEOPLE IN THE LHW DIVISION?!?!?! Really? That was one of the worst posts I’ve seen on here in a looong time.
by Diceman on Aug 27, 2009 9:54 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
RoBerto I like Page as much as anyone, but that was not Page’s worst night. Jardine went all 3 rounds in a stand up war with Rampage. Sure he got rocked a few times, but Page didn’t finish him. I saw Jardine take a few of Page’s hooks. There’s no way Silva has better stand-up or more power, so what makes you think he will KO Jardine? You are WAY too hard on Jardine and greatly underestimate him. I don’t even like Jardine, not at all, but I can keep it real and not say he’s garbage.

i dont get it when people say thiago hasnt beaten anyone of relevance so he is going to lose. it doesnt mean he cant. even champions had to get their first win over a relevant fighter sometime.

DICEMAN, no, no that’s not quite true, if u look at FROSNT’s post from yesterday on a Couture Blog he said MMA was not a real sport… that was more ignorant than his comment here..lol. Fronst is a MMA knownothing.

I predict Nog to look slow and old again so that’s why i think Randy can stop him, it’s just a fun prediction. but if i was being honest i would say that Randy wins by decision.
yeah Egads, I don’t get that either. They are still who they are as fighters, no matter who they’ve fought and I think Thiago is better.

Big Nog looks like Paul Harris. Guillotine Rd 2. The countdown show was a big randy handjob. They talked about King of Kings but neglected to mention that Randy got choked out of it.

I completely disgree. Rampage is one of the most talented LHW’s on the planet. I do believe he seems be limiting his game significantly in simply boxing opponents and not using his wrestling. No leg kicks, no leg checks, no effective defense to the clinch, very minor wrestling nowadays. He also self admitedly has had poor work ethic and often becomes a victim to his own ego but if Rampage were focused and challenged he could beat any other LHW on any given day. He has repeatedly shown limited skill coupled with overwhelming talent, (in especially two disciplines, wrestling and boxing) can overwhelm any of his opponents. Outwrestling olympic wrestlers and outstriking K1 professionals. If he were to eat breathe and sleep a balanced MMA regiment he could be unstoppable.

On the Page Jardine debate, i am in the Page camp.
I think he dominated the fight and it was far more comfortable than a lot of people make out. Its almost as if any decision “could have gone either way” nowdays.
Sardine is a mid to high level fighter that is awkward for anyone but will never be a real contender.
I think when it comes to Silva we are all really guessing at his level. He looked like sh*t against Machida but so does everyone!!
Tough fight to call and people are fools for saying it is anything other.
PS Randy will dominate Nog IMO, Nog has looked like sh*t in the UFC, staph or no staph and I can’t see him tapping Randy if Jacre couldn’t with no strikes allowed.
I hate to flame him because he is a great guy with a fantastic record in the sport but his best days are gone. At the top of the food chain in the UFC you can’t get away with just hoping that the other guy has NO ground game.
by Nick J on Aug 28, 2009 6:48 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He will KO him on the ground, not standing!..
Daniel Worby, you are officially the biggest dumba$$ on this site!
first of all, I don’t care what any of the refs told Jardine. He was outclassed, none of his shots even hit or hurt Rampage, I think he connected with one punch the whole fight and his legkicks were softer then marshmallows, he was running scared and got taken down 2 times.
2nd, Thiago hasn’t fought “anyone worth mentioning yet” so that would be hard to beat anyone right, but don’t think Jardine is worth mentioning for one second, cause he isn’t!
lastly, Rampage was winning both fights against Wanderlei in Pride, when he was training with amateurs..
they would both have killed Jardine in 1 or 2 minutes cause they both looked good back then and it was when Wanderlei dominated everybody. U F’IN smarta$$
by RoBerto on Aug 28, 2009 8:51 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I’ve seen the fight several times and at no point did I have Jardine anywhere near winning. It was a good fight but IMO it wasn’t that close; Page won every round.
by O damn he got caught on Aug 28, 2009 8:51 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
yeah, does the judges see the fights listening to the commentators? you would almost think so, it would have been the most embarrassing decision ever if Jardine got it, cause he literally did nothing.. I’d let him kick me all day with the kicks he threw at Page, and not to talk about the punches coming from Azerbadjan

Jardine will win….not because he is a world beater, but instead because Silva IS the most over-rated fighter in the division. I’ll give Silva his proper respect if he wins, but going off his present fight resume, he is a B level fighter. Silva’s two best wins are Houston and Mendes, guys Eric Shaffer, a bonafide journeyman, defeated as impressively as Silva did. I will say this….going off the photo and the Countdown show, Silva appears to be a little more fit than he appeared in any of his past fights.

since everyone wants to count jardine out, i’m gonna say jardine by tko 2nd round, and couture by decision, marquardt dry humping maia, and rosholt doing the same to leben

not sure how easy it’ll be to dry hump maia. i’m with you own nate, but i think he’ll have to keep it standing in order to win this one.

i need thiago to dominate jardine to be a fan of his, he has spectacular stoppages but he always gets his ass kicked in the process before he gets it. aslong as he looks impressive ill jump on the bandwagon
p.s. anyone else agree with me about 102 being the card of the year or atleast main card of the year. after watching the countdown it made me extremely jacked for all the fights. especially the vera-sosz fight. this card is going to be wild and i have a feeling the fights will be great!

They will be. Hype is very rarely lived up to, and all these guys are known for exciting fights. The sleeper cards are usually the ones with the best action. Remember UFC 95?
by Jeremyjackson on Aug 27, 2009 8:32 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
This card doesn’t need hype, it has a dream match, a title contender eliminator fight and a LHW fight between 2 top 10 fighters with 2 undercard fights that have the potential to be exciting. Whilst 100 and 101 had much better pre-fight hype, this card will deliver on the night guaranteed and will be more enjoyable to watch from top to bottom.

Just me or has Thiago Bulked up alot muscle wise… Looks in way better shape then he did for the Machida fight. I say Silva by strikes rd. 1. I think this will be very similiar to the Wandy/Jardine fight as he and Alexander both showed Dean of Mean can’t handle the bumrush.

I cant wait too see the Marquardt pounce on Maia , actually since this fight was announced ive been kinda happy too see them put Marquardt in a situation where he could possibly earn a title shot..
His last 3-4 fights have been extremely impressive & showing alot more aggressiveness and goes in for the kill more then he did at the beginning of his UFC career.
Hope he gets too fight Hendo one day , I think that would be a aswesome match.

Its a rumour that is on every MMA forum, who knows if its true or not.
When I read Kev first say it a couple of days ago I thought who does he train with that could knock him out? Then I thought Dos Santos!! So maybe its true??
I also think that Freddy Roach is working with Nog so maybe he has brought in some bad ass sparring partners?

Jardine will UD Thiago – as much as it hurts me to say it as I quite like Thiago. And Nogueira will upset Randy – I’m so confident that I’ve bet on it. Big Nog needed a loss to get him training diligently as he did during his Pride days. Lately, he’s just been looking for the fight to hit the ground so that he could pull out a sub from his ass but from what I’ve heard, his training for this fight has been intensive firstly because he wants to get back to his winning ways and secondly, he knows what a win over a legend like Randy (a fight he requested remember) will do to his own legendary status. WAR NOG!

Altho I do believe Silva is going to win the fight by 2nd round knock out; Keith Jardines fight against Jackson was actually better then most of his fights, and in my opinion Jardine should have won the fight.
I think Big Nog is going to beat Randy randy by submission in the 3rd round. I think Randy is going to get caught after a take down

Im a jardine fan. And ya. Silva is no joke. But like someone above said. He hasent beaten any top 10 guys. He hasnt faced near the competition jardine has. If you actually take a step back and look at it. Jardine has faced better comp in the 205 lb division than even machida has. page has. evans has. griffin has. I dont care if that guy has the belt or not. He should be ranked higher.
Granted his record is up and down and inconsistent. The guy gets the job done. He barely lost to rampage. lost to wandy and alexander. Im sure hes learnt how to not succumb to the rush in onslaught of guys with seriouse ko power like those two.
I see Jardine fighting for a title soon. I have jardine over silva via UD.
Ill go out on a limb and say tko 3rd round. Flame me if im wrong.
And how can you say his standup is terrible? He has ko power. Kept liddell off his game. RIGHT AFTER he lost to page. Knocked out griffin. Even gave wandy trouble until he got knocked out. Took page to a very close decision. Beat vera who has possible the best muy thia in the ufc.
Be realistic here.

The only reason Jardine is ranked so low is because he lost to everyone that was deemed a competitor for the belt, his victory over Chuck at the time catapulted him to his highest height and Chuck as we all know now is not a competitor for anything other than the most slurred words in a run-on sentence award for the Guiness Book.

I like Jardine, but really… He’s taken advantage of bad performances against him. Griffin did the same. I like em both but I cannot believe that Jardine will last beyond the 2nd round.
He IS awkward with his standup, but I’m guessing he will be taken down and it will end quickly after that.

But if he comes in looking ripped like he does in the weigh in pics i guess he should stay. I still wish they would open up a 195lb class. The 205lb belt wouldnt jump around so much and there would be so many more fights with top guys that could happen.

man the fighters at 205 that we see now aside from Machida and Anderson when he moves up, are not very good. 10 years from now people will watch old UFc’s and say: wow those guys sucked! Much the way we do now about the first 15 UFC’s with the acception of Gracie who dominated because he actually had skill, they all sucked by today’s standard. The UFC is in the infant stage still. Machida is ahead of his time in the stand up and Miai is way ahead on the ground. In 20 years the fighters will be Miai good on the ground and Machida/Anderson on the feet.
What we have now are great wrestlers who did not start mma training until they were in their mid 20’s or later. Machida started as a child same with Miai, hence the difference. There is a whole generation coming up watching these guys. The first generation since MMA became a legit, respected sport. Things will change. The Jardine’s and Pages of the world will be left behind over the next 2 years.
