Id like too see him take out Vera , but I think this is a can for Vera. He should be able too beat him standing and on the ground.
Bad matchup for Krzysztof .. its a big step up competition , wish he would have took a little more time before trying out the top B ( almost A ) lvl fighters in the UFC ..
But losing wont make him look bad , unless Vera makes him look like F . Griffin in his last fight.

Oh boy hum, I hope ur wrong! I’ve always been a Vera fan, and really don’t care for krystov. I hope he thinks he can stand with Vera, that way he gets KO’d!

He know he can stand with him. The question is how far away will he stand! I think Sos will get up in his grill and put a ton of pressure on him. Vera will be too busy covering up to work his kicks. It’s going to be all about constant pressure for Sos. Otherwise he will get eaten up from the outside.

But will he be worried about clinching with Vera?
Vera should have a huge advantage in the clinch.

I really have a feeling vera will get ko’d/tko’d by crys and to the first guy who said this is a can for vera …..no the can was reese andy and he accually put up a fight against vera

yeah i think the only way vera wins this fight is if krystof plays right into his game plan which is stay on the outside trading shots with him, i think as long as krystof puts the pressure on him and goes for takedowns he will win this fight easy

what?..WOW! alot of vera fans here. I know Kris is alot stroner then vera, kris will take it to the ground and submitt vera easy just like he did Stan (former wec champ)
Kris trains with team quest, NUFF said!!

I think crys is gunna win 2 but u are definetly underestimating vera’s ability

Team Quest’s overrated. Look at their fighters, not too much winning nowadays eh…

It could happen, this guy hits like a truck; though I’m going with Vera on this one; if it turns into a striking match Soszynski is going to get picked apart. I don’t see it going down like that though; I give him a good shot at winning depending on his TD success rate.

This is a very interesting fight. I like Vera as a personality. Does anyone remember when he invited everyone from Mandalay Bay to his wedding the next day?
I think that was the Justin Eilers fight…
Kryzzy has his hands full, but I think he can hold his own at this level. If the beginning of this fight looks like Vera vs Jardine Brandons going to get finished via Kimura… Kryzzy’s Kimura is very good and Brandon won’t get away with starting a fight like that here.
That all being said, I think Vera’s leg kicks are a huge difference maker. If he stings Kryzsztof early and gets him limping he won’t have success w/ TD.
Vera via UD

vera by UD…kreeezy may have more power but vera has way too much movement…looking at him in his last fight he was just way too fast…the way he darted in and out…hes finally comfortable at 205…after this fight he will be an A level fighter in the division..
vera is gonna pick him apart…i think hes gonna completely outclass him
by HellaHectic on Aug 26, 2009 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
ya he definetly picked the guy apart but can you tell me the guys name he picked apart tho?? because i remember watching that fight and it was definetly against a nobody

Dangerous for the UFC to have a fight like this. Vera is sliding under a rock & needs this win, Krystoph, my fellow Canuck, love the guy but even if he pulls off the win, never gonna be as popular as Vera. I am guessing Vera by 2nd round clinch.

calling Krzy a Can is a bit of a stretch…..he’s a helluva lot better than the average Can. If i’m a Vera fan, i’m just a tad bit worried about this matchup. Vera is by far a more technical striker, and has good enough footwork to deal with anything this guy brings…..but Vera has looked less than stellar since moving to LH, and Krzystoff has looked pretty damn good in his last few fights….much improved, and i’ts obvious that he’s working his ass off. If i bet this fight, my money would go on Vera, but i don’t think it will be as easy as you think, and it wouldn’t be the shock of the year if Vera is upset. Looking forward to this one.

wow carnage, “who really knows about krystov?” how bout anyone who watches TUF. You fail to realize the impact that show has on people picking who they enjoy as fighters. Huge tuf fans (nothing wrong with that) know and like krystov!
by kevin on Aug 26, 2009 1:02 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
That and Krystov is a legit opponent; tough, strong LHW fighter; KO Power, and decent ground skills. This guy is no joke; IMO Vera wins this fight, but he’s not going up against a pushover here.

all i know is from watchin tuf i didnt like krystoff and it took his last 3 fight to get my attenchion, and vera hasnt impressed me since his move to 205

Corret OD. Soz is a serious threat. This guy’s been fightin’ all over before he even joined TUF. He’s like the “most veteran” among the contestants with lots of fights under his belt.
And if you think Vera can push Soz around ‘coz he was a former HW, think again. The Polish experiment has also ventured the HW seas and he’s also one big m0therfuck, looks more massive than Vera IMO.

Very true. I’m a huge Rashad fan for him being the only heavyweight minority on the show. I related to him and became a fan despite his lay and pray style while on it.

Krzystof is only in this fight because Matt Hamill got injured and Joe Silva knows Krzystof will take a fight against anyone on short notice

come on k.s. i will continue to shamelessly cheer for certain canadians regardless of the odds. it’s my only vice.
by JB on Aug 26, 2009 1:04 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I have the same problem. No matter who it is I vote for the Canadian. I am also badly biased during the fight. I had Cote winning the Silva fight until he got hurt.

Jay, yeah same here. I am still hoping Loiseau comes back & kicks some ass..Now we got Kang to look forward to, amongst many other Canucks.

neeko, DL shouldn’t be coming back, he has been exposed for what he is sadly. I think he would be better suited for kickboxing or Tai Kwon Do tourneys. Way too easy to LNP him. Like I said before as long as GSP doesn’t ever get caught on the Juice I will always be his number 1 fan.

Wow, lots of Canucks in here. Somebody call the mountie! LOL.
Someday I would like all the Canucks, Englishmen, and Americans bash each other here on this website. Like Attakdog comes to the aid of MoonUK if introvert or jay say somethin’ that’s not funny or what not…Stuff like that….Just sayin, nothin’ to do in this boring room of mine. Think I better go outdoors and meet some peepz…

Why does everyone want Vera to get KTFO? Did i miss something? I love vera… gotta love the Ruude Boi in him. But he’s great on the mic and can be great in the cage.
Why all the hate from Mania nation I wunder?

Vera is awesome. I don’t understand the hate either. All you haters are going to be dissapointed when Vera leg kicks Krystoff to death.

jay-both? LOL
I’m for Vera too ‘coz of NAtional Pride. But seriously, I like his Muay Thai stance, just as I like Sakara’s boxing stance.

Can’t stand Mr. “I’m going to hold both the HW and LHW belts” Vera. He’s done jack to even be considered for a title shot at either weight after making that dumb statement what, 3 years ago? STFU Vera. Go Krystoff!
by Gurthee on Aug 26, 2009 1:27 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
It obviously depends on which Vera shows up! The original Vera would cream this guy! But, Krzysztof is no joke and Vera has shown up looking off-kilter on several occassions. I am pulling for Vera, though. We’ll see very soon.

We haven’t seen the original Vera for almost 3 years now. And the way he’s been looking in his fights, I doubt if we will again.

Everybody is talking trash because Vera’s last appearences have looked like trash. He sucked when he fought that Andy guy and he lost to Keith Jardine…. The once Unstoppable VERA!
thats why cause he crashed landed onto earth. Did you see his firts few fights in the UFC…. destruction. U better come with it

Vera needs this win to maintain any illusion that he could still become a contender in the LHW division. Unfortunately for him, I really could see Soszynski breaking him down. All that time between the Mir and Sylvia fights just killed all his momentum. Looking at all his fights individually from Sylvia onwards, one could probably make excuses for his performances. There was cage rust in the fight against Sylvia and he broke his hand. One could argue the ref stopped his fight with Werdum prematurely. Or that he was still adjusting to the weight cut in his fights with Reese Andy and Jardine. Looking at it all together though, you’ve got a 2-3 win/loss record since his return to the UFC. At the end of the day, there was probably nothing he could have done to win the Sylvia fight. But he shouldn’t have relied on the ref to give him that extra time he needed to ride out the GNP assault from Werdum, a fight he never looked particularly impressive in for as long as it lasted. The Reese Andy fight was simply a very bad performance from him and a fight he just shouldn’t have taken if he didn’t feel he could handle the cut on such short notice. And in my eyes, that should have been a UD loss to Jardine instead of a split. His most recent win was over Mike Patt in a fight that looked like a gimme considering Patt got demolished by Tim Boetsch in his first UFC fight, leaving Vera, a guy who thought he could be a double champion in the HW and LHW divisions, looking like someone who can only beat UFC newcomers.
