you can talk crap all you want, but I will get to see Fedor live, while your irrelevant ass swings from my nuts! YOu have been on this site for years, and you are by far the least respected regular on this entire site. Congratulations being irrelevant! Keep swinging from the kings nuts!

You are nothing more then a cum stain on my radar! THere isnt a regular on this site that will take your side in the knowledge department over mine. YOU are a 3 year long troll, your mother should be proud! dont you get sick of playing the role of the annoying little brother on this site…Have some PRIDE man!

yOu honestly have No business addressing me, and I would NEVER say that to any one else…but day in and day out you have proved to bring nothing to the table so you deserve the verbal slaughter that I am unleashing on your bitch ass!

by john G on Aug 25, 2009 2:59 AM EDT up reply actions

John, we post on an internet site, we are the meaning of irrelevant. You make it seem as though you are going places with your ideas and opinions. But, who are you even talking to?

by jay on Aug 25, 2009 7:12 AM EDT up reply actions

I think Fedor is a great fighter and anyone would be crazy to give up an opportunity to see him in person.

But… I think he gave up the title of “World’s Universally Recognized No. 1 Heavyweight” when he foolishly turned down the offer from the UFC. And for anyone that says it that was all Finkelchtein, Fedor has said that he makes his own decisions and is fully aware of what’s going on. No excuses this time.

After all that crap I just don’t care about Fedor anymore (for sure not as much anyway), and I think a lot of MMA fans feel the same way.

by JS on Aug 25, 2009 10:36 AM EDT up reply actions

I’m gonna make the trip there just to tell him he’s a b*tch.

Kind of like patting a sleeping bear on the head, ya know?

I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack
was super sick (pneumonia) and then my dad came out for the weekend (and my son is home). I’m sure you guys missed me! Anyways, has the Fedor sparring match happened yet? lol
I’m hearing that Nog is repeatedly getting KO’d in sparring sessions leading up to 102. I have a good source (not BE) who says this is true! I’m not a Randy fan, but it seems that the smart money is on randy. I’m not excited about this event, but I think it’s because I’ve been so sick. I’ll start reading and getting pumped this week.
By the way, I read someone’s post that “BJ should go to strikeforce or dream and face top LW competition.” I laughed, thank you for that!

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 12:46 PM EDT reply actions

I missed that but would love to know who the top level LW’s are in Strikeforce? GZ? Thomson? Please…the best LW out there is obviously Aoki who imo would get beaten by BJ, Kenny, Maynard, Huerta, Sherk etc.

by McArthur on Aug 24, 2009 12:52 PM EDT up reply actions

you had me until huerta and sherk were on your list

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions

I know…list just didn’t seem long enough to get my point across.

by McArthur on Aug 24, 2009 2:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Welcome back Kevin. I was out too having our second baby girl. I agree about the smart money being on Randy. I rewatched the Brock fight yesterday and it reinforced what a phenomenon Randy is. I think he is a better fighter today than when he was fighting Chuck. Happy to hear you didn’t die of swine flu.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Aug 24, 2009 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions

lol, thats what they thought it might be.
4 plane rides in as many days and a weekend getaway after going to midnight showing of district 9 (already sick) don’t help the cause.
congrats on the new baby!

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Aug 24, 2009 1:09 PM EDT up reply actions

You guys are hilarious with your crap about Nog in training. He’s training with top of the food chain Strikers, WTF do you expect? Of course he will get beat up that’s what having a good training camp is all about. A.Silva said that Nog will be in great shape for this fight b/c everyone came to help him for this fight. Go all put you $ on Captain Paycheck If you really believe this crap but I inviting you to go find vids of Randy’s training and if you don’t recognize that he clearly did slow down, well you really deserve to lose your $ IMO.

by Alpha Male on Aug 24, 2009 12:58 PM EDT up reply actions

I’ve never bet money on Randy alpha (and clearly should have). You don’t need to believe me, but we are talking the iron chinned guy who couldn’t be KO’d, who got ko’d and knocked down by Mir time and again. Maybe it wasn’t a fluke. I realize people get knocked out sparring all the time, but not on a regular basis. The more you get KOd, the more susceptible you are to getting KO’d. I’ll be rooting for Nog (although Randy has a good shot against Brock), I’m just stating where I think the safe money may be!

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 1:01 PM EDT up reply actions

beat up is one thing but if he’s getting KOed? Thats not good…

by McArthur on Aug 24, 2009 1:05 PM EDT up reply actions

IDK, Alpha.

I think Nog may be the victim of too many wars.

His UFC stint has been unimpressive.

Randy may be overrated but his intelligence is second to none.

This is a literal toss up for me.

by OJR on Aug 24, 2009 1:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Other than catching Randy’s arm or leg while he’s dazed I can’t see how NOG can win

by McArthur on Aug 24, 2009 1:08 PM EDT up reply actions

C-mon OJR, how is Randy overrated?

by JV on Aug 24, 2009 1:14 PM EDT up reply actions

The guy is 33 for god sake, and got only 5 loss on his resume, he’s far from the retirement. And “unimpressive”… really? The only fight that I find unimpressive was his last fight when he was affected by staph.

by Alpha Male on Aug 24, 2009 1:15 PM EDT up reply actions

His wins aren’t as impressive as his comeback wins…in all honesty he got peppered and nearly lost to Herring, Silvia, and did lose to Mir…

by McArthur on Aug 24, 2009 1:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Alpha-

I think his bouts against Tim and Heath in the UFC were unimpressive compared to how he USED to perform.

The Mir fight was a nightmare.

JV-

Randy is good but not great. I was more impressed with him beating Tito and Chuck then what he did as a HW. That’s all.

by OJR on Aug 24, 2009 1:20 PM EDT up reply actions

My responses are in mod. Hold on, guys.

by OJR on Aug 24, 2009 1:21 PM EDT up reply actions

mine too!

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 1:25 PM EDT up reply actions

I hope that you will comes up with the same speech when Fedor will fight next time. “His recent win wasn’t as impressive as his Pride wins back in the day…in all honesty he got peppered and nearly lost to AA, so now he will lose all of his future fights b/c he’s 33 also.”

by Alpha Male on Aug 24, 2009 1:26 PM EDT up reply actions

cmon alpha, fedor hasn’t taken the abuse Nog has. Nog has relied on his ability to endure punishment for years. I’m a fedor fan, always have been, but you take his last 5 fights (probably more), they are against not even close to contenders or he was in trouble during the fight. Yes he won, it has nothing to do with age (which I can’t see where anyone brought age up), it has to do with competition and amount of abuse taken over time and the ability to continue to take that abuse!

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 1:33 PM EDT up reply actions

NOG is still in his prime and a great fighter the wars he has been in have made him a better fighter if anything the only guy’s that truely see him as going down hill are those who want to protect Fedors Legacy just incase NOG does go down. Fact is NOG and Randy both can beat 90%+ of the HW fighters out there in this fight I can see Randy winning be decision or TKO and NOG as usual by submission it should be great tactical fight for any MMA fan so enjoy as Randy only should have a few more fights left in him.

by Beaver on Aug 24, 2009 1:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Alpha-

With all due respect, muchacho, it’s a flawed comparison.

Fedor was out of shape in the AA fight and chose to bang with a faster, more technical striker. Yes, he was definitely getting peppered, but Fedor hasn’t sustained a great deal of punishment throughout his career.

Nog, on the other hand, has made a living off of getting beaten down and rising from the dead with an unbelievable submission victory. Those beatings have caught up with him. We saw in the Mir fight that his chin has taken too many shots and is not the anvil it used to be. Even in the Nog training videos I’ve seen in the last couple of years, he looks lethargic and has developed an “old man walk”.

Nog’s birth certificate may say he’s 33, but his body insists on a much higher number. He is near the end of his rope IMO, and I say this as a huge NOG fan for years. I think Randy has slowed down as well, and you’re right to say that Randy’s recent training vid proves that – but I still think Methuselah™ can avoid submissions well enough to wear down Nog and get the win.

by Jeremyjackson on Aug 24, 2009 1:42 PM EDT up reply actions

great post JJ, you summed it up perfectly!

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 1:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Bro, if you really believe that Fedor was out of shape well I got to tell you that I did watched all his training vids coming to that fight with AA and he did the exact same training for the Barnett fight, the red devil team lift sissy weight and they all do the same training. The only talented guy that Fedor spar with is Alek. Do you really think that he will be better next time?

As for Nog he always get a beating and find his way to the W what do you want me to say? It’s his fighting style I suppose… that doesn’t mean that it’s not effective. He stating to get better on his feet and this should be enough to keep him out of troubles from now on, IMO.

I’m just sick to always have to argue the fact that all these fighters that are in their 30’s are not over the hill damnit. Guys like Franklin, Nog, Tito, Fedor, Cro Cop, Wand, are still relevant fighters. Guys like Hendo, Coleman, Frye and Randy are almost done might be more accurate.

Anyway I’m thinking to go do some boat to change my mind right now b/c you guys pissed me off today. Have a good day!

by Alpha Male on Aug 24, 2009 2:05 PM EDT up reply actions

You have a point about the Red Devil training, but my assessment of Fedor’s conditioning for the AA bout stems from the fact that he was far fatter than he’d ever looked in a fight.

And I think anyone in their early 30s is still in their physical prime, but some guys have a lot more wear n’ tear than others, and some guys just lose their reflexes and speed quicker than others. You’re a hockey fan dude, you know what I mean.

Anyway, have a good one brother, and don’t forget to wear a life jacket. And by life jacket I mean massive, silicone-enhanced breasts wrapped around your head.

by Jeremyjackson on Aug 24, 2009 2:13 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t know how alpha is saying he was in shape. his team admitted he barely trained for that fight, he was doing a movie

by kevin on Aug 24, 2009 2:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Off the topic here now that 5 round fights are allowed in none title fights have you guy’s heard if the UFC or anyone else is going to have any I think the Couture and Nog fight would be a great fight to make a five rounder as it could very well go the distance?

by Beaver on Aug 24, 2009 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions

That’s only been approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commision, so I’m not sure it is permissible in fights outside of Vegas.

by Jeremyjackson on Aug 24, 2009 4:28 PM EDT up reply actions

If so I the other athletic commisions should soon follow I really hate when two fighters are next in line for a shot at the belt and their fight is decided by a three round decision and sometimes the winner looks more fatigued than the loser were a five round fight would determine more than a three round who deserves to fight for the belt?

by Beaver on Aug 24, 2009 4:49 PM EDT up reply actions

One more thought regarding the accumulated wear and tear on Nog….. I believe it’s more than the accumulated damage from fights. It’s also damage accumulated from his camp, known for it’s unbelieveable intensity and competitiveness. There is a price to pay for that over time. Everyone has their chronological age number and their actual age. To my eyes, it appears Nog’s actual age greatly exceeds his chronological age number.

As for Fedor, I’ve said before the explosion of MMA will change the HW division more than any other. We’ve yet to see the mass influx of guys pushing the 265 pd limit who are both supremely athletic AND posess high level skill sets. With the money and notoriety now available, I expect this to change. We’ll start seeing guys with Lesnar’s athletic tools, but also skill sets rivaling Fedor’s.

by CL on Aug 24, 2009 5:40 PM EDT up reply actions

JeremyJackson, who’s Methuselah? Some Hebrew character?

by Syd on Aug 24, 2009 5:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Wiki it, you lazy bastard.

;-)

by Jeremyjackson on Aug 24, 2009 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

lol, thanks for the good thought bro!

by Alpha Male on Aug 24, 2009 11:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah Alpha, but I don’t think Randy’s important assets are based on speed. He’s a smart fighter. Until he shows some true signs of aging in the ring, I still believe in him. You know, now that I think about it, his style of fighting probably has a lot to do with why he is able to remain competitive at his age. He can lose some reaction time and still get it done via greco.

Hey, do you have any suggestions from how to get from 300’s to 405 on the bench? Aside from just benching, do you do anything special?

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Aug 24, 2009 1:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Good point about greco being a style more agreeable to an aging combatant, Punch. It relies more on strength and balance than speed and reflexes, the necessary weapons of a kickboxer and typically the first attributes to diminish in an aging athlete.

Oh, and congrats on the new Rug Rat.

by Jeremyjackson on Aug 24, 2009 2:25 PM EDT up reply actions

thanx JJ

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Aug 24, 2009 5:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Punch,
It’s a really long process buddy. I was fortunate enough to reach that goal while I was still growing up, so it was more easy for me that it could be for anyone pass or in their 30’s. But I would say that first you going to need a good professional trainer but if you can’t find one and want to go on your own well… you will need to workout to gain a bit of mass if you want to gain strength/endurance after. There is not many guys under 200 lbs who can bench 400. That said, start with a couple of programs of mass, then strength, then endurance, and then you come back to strength and you should get it done. But to be honest it probably gonna take you 2-3 years before reaching that goal if you got the genetic. You can use Andro’s and Nor-Andro’s since they are sold behind the counter at your local supplement store, but be sure you’re not competing in a sports that test those b/c you will fail the test like Barnett did. Some will gonna argue that they are almost at 1 mol of Carbon from the testo’s but they’re not and they can be really helpful for strength gain. Also try to include some close grip bench in your programs when you are doing your triceps this will help your gain on the bench also. And start your couple of first programs with dumbbell bench, don’t use the regular bench for a while and this will help too. I’m sure that JJ could tell you more on the specification of some programs how to get there, than myself though, but I hope that this could help you to be on the right path.

by Alpha Male on Aug 24, 2009 11:57 PM EDT up reply actions

Punch, I got a post in mod for ya!

by Alpha Male on Aug 25, 2009 12:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Thanks Alpha. I rarely do the close-grip. I’ll have to do add that. Yeah, I’m 215lbs at the moment, but I’m not lean at the moment. I’m back to 300lbs on the bench and I think I should be back to 325lbs in three months. 345lbs is my all time best. It’s funny you suggest dumbbell bench for strength. I know it’s good for development, but I’ve always felt week when I do this for a while then return to barbell. I think you’re right about it taking three years, which is fine. I just don’t want to plateau forever this time.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Aug 25, 2009 10:35 AM EDT up reply actions

Well, I forgot to tell you that the best way to succeed is to have a good training partner that can push you to do more. It helps if he can be stronger than you. Plus be sure to always changing weights between your series and always finish them even if you are full of lactic acid and put always a 5 to 10 lbs heavier the next time that you do your bench, so you won’t stall forever at the same weight. Dumbbell will helping you a lot to be sure that you force equaly. The only thing deplorable is that generally gym’s don’t have dumbbell over 140 lbs so you got to stop when you are at the end of the rack.

by Alpha Male on Aug 25, 2009 10:49 AM EDT up reply actions

Punch, I got another post in mod for ya!

by Alpha Male on Aug 25, 2009 10:50 AM EDT up reply actions

Randy wins no worries. Keep ur money right where ya put it (on Randy).

You don’t get ko’d consistently in training, not very bright. Weird strategy.

“Captain Paycheck”, or as I refer to him as, hall of famer, man with the golden plan, Benjamin button aging in reverse man, is going to “cash” in big time

Fedor was the best fighter in the world at some point. He’s just not anymore. Simple as that. I don’t think he cares about being the best fighter anymore cause he doesn’t have anything to prove anymore. The more evolved fighters of today would likely beat his ass and he knows that if goes into the UFC, he’d be exposed.

But if you wanna take out the boxers[still considered fighters]and imaginary fighters[Balboa, etc], as well as icons who could really beat the crap out of today’s MMA fighters[Bruce Lee], then I’ll sub them with Bones, Vera, GSP, Fedor[yes, I hate his guts for not goin’ to the UFC, but he fights better than 90% of MMArtists today]and PacMan[again!]

I have no interest in meeting Russian hillbillies, no matter which of Grandma’s sweaters they’ve got on.

DAMMIT you got 2 of my top 3 on ur hater list! :)

Oh well can’t change everyones mind. So I’m guessing ur wanting Nog to win saturday ha ha.

I’m still not sold on Cain, I’m a pretty big Kongo fan even tho him, like Houston, kinda suck (a lot sometimes) lol.

And as for Diego, he gets under my skin a bit. But since I despise of Penn he’s good in my books for now.

by Daniel worby on Aug 24, 2009 3:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Don’t get me wrong, Randy and GSP are great fighters, no denying that.

I just do not enjoy watching them, since they are basically groundfighters with a high ground-and-hold percentage. And those types of fights are my least favorite to watch.

Examples are Randy vs Tim Sylvia or GSP’s last fight vs Thiago Alves.

Still it is not a “Hater”-list, just a list of people I do not get pumped to watch. Cain has to be careful though, if he keeps going like he did against Kongo, I might drop him down onto that list.

I hear you. Cain’s chin actually surprised me as he ate some that no one would blame him if got ktfo! So props for that, but he definitely needs to cover up better after seeing that as well.

Does anyone know if fedor is hanging around the city for a few more days? Where he will be next?
Quick I need him to sign my summer sweater too, before it starts to get cold.
