"It would be in October or November. The location is to be determined. We have two more big show [this year] and one of them will be Fedor. We're not interested in Ricco Rodriguez, that was a Ken Pavia rumor. Brett Rogers is obviously one of the candidates, Alistair Overeem, (Sergei) Kharitonov, maybe Paul Buentello. I think those four would be the top guys to choose from. I say let's put him on TV a couple of times and then let him fight in the big fight."
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker looks to build some momentum towards a big money fight with his recent acquisition, famed Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko. "The Last Emperor" is slated to do battle in October or November on Showtime but may not see a network television or pay-per-view "big fight" until next year. The former PRIDE FC heavyweight champion has come under fire for not signing with the UFC but could quickly prove the doubters wrong if he's able to elevate the Strikeforce brand to new heights -- which Coker hopes to do through a steady promotional build.
