M-1 Breakthrough: Watch exhibition match between Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi live on Internet PPV on Aug. 28

Amsterdam, Holland -- With final preparations being made for "HDNET FIGHTS PRESENTS M-1 GLOBAL BREAKTHROUGH" on Friday, August, 28, M-1 Global announced Thursday that the International feed of the event will be available on Internet pay-per-view via M-1Global.com and Mixfight.ru.

"HDNET FIGHTS PRESENTS M-1 GLOBAL BREAKTHROUGH" will be headlined by the United States debut of former NCAA All-American "King" Mo Lawal as he takes on former PRIDE and UFC star Mark "The Smashing Machine" Kerr.

Into addition to Lawal vs. Kerr, fans outside of the U.S. and Korea will be able to watch a special sparring exhibition between M-1' fighters "The Last Emperor" Fedor Emelianenko and newly-crowned Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi.

The high-quality stream will be priced at approximately $9.95 (price will vary depending on country due to conversion rates) and will begin at 22:00 PM EST.

With a card featuring some of the world's best up and coming talent, M-1's decision to offer its PPV stream will allow Finnish and Russian fans to watch the highly-anticipated rematch between Lucio Linhares and Mikhail Zayats. Additionally, French fight fans will now be able to witness Karl "The Psycho" Amoussou's first-ever nationally televised fight in the U.S.

Other International fighters to be featured on the card include Daisuke Nakamura of Japan (vs. Ferrid Kheder), Rob Broughton of England (vs. Jessie Gibbs), and Michael Kita of Poland (vs. Lloyd "Kadillac" Marshbanks).

Orders are now being accepted at M-1Global.com through a SMS payment widget on the right hand side of the page.

For those looking to attend the event live at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, tickets are currently on sale at Ticketmaster.com and all local Ticketmaster outlets.

I will watch this PPV only if M-1 agrees to let me co-promote the event. I don’t bring anything to the table and won’t be investing any money, but I am willing to accept half of the profits.

should be on HDnet for free. I won’t pay a dime for M-1.

by natedog77 on Aug 20, 2009 8:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

no kidding, this is one to catch on the internet freebie channels without a doubt! If I were to pay (won’t happen), it would be for that real fighter Mousasi and not that joke Fedor.

I always liked Stikeforce… it’s a shame they decided to give all of their money to Fedor like the rest of the UFC competitors. He’ll bankrupt them just like he did BoDog and Affliction, I’m sure he helped big time with PRIDE also. When will they learn he is only a draw to hardcore fans? I say they get less than 25,000 buys.

why the fock would anyone want to watch a sparring session?.. I bet Mous would knock him out if they had a real standup fight..

by RoBerto on Aug 20, 2009 8:58 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I am actually looking forward to this sparring sesssion. especially since I get to watch it live. Of course, I am Fedor’s #1 fan, but I am curious to see how MOusasi does against him. Just cause two guys arent trying to take each others heads off, doesnt mean they wont be competing and displaying technique. Its also appealing to me because I expect them to display advanced techniques that we would never see them try in a real fight.

Its not like, they are sparring instead of having a real fight against real opponents. Neither Fedor, nor Mousasi were going to fight between October anyway, so for me this is just extra.

If I could get my hands on their daily sparring video’s, I would watch as much of it as I could get my hands on….and whenever Mania, puts a video up of fighters sparring, every last one of you cocksuckers watch them, and enjoy them….so stop lying and acting like you aren’t going to watch this one!

You guys only complain because the fighter, who’s nuts you secretly swing for didnt sign with the organization of your chosing…cry me a focking river. Do you see the zillions of Chinese fans that Fedor has in China who dont even watch the ufc, omplaining that he didnt sign with the organization that they watch and HATING on Fedor? Of course not, but typical, close minded, entitled americans….cry like Babies! fedor’s fans in china will watch him fight wherever he decides to fight…thjose are real fans! The types of fans you would want….why would one of the richest and most accomplished men in mma want or need fans like you guys who will boo him the second he doesnt throw a punch for one minute or will jump right off the bandwagon the day after he loses a fight?

Grow the fock up and stop pretending that every laST ONE OF YOU ARENT GOING TO WATCH THIS SPARRING SESSION! cONTRARY TO WHAT YOU MAY THINK, THE MAN DOESNT LIVE TO SERVE US! He doesnt asked to be called the greatest, all he wants to do is try to build his business up to the best of his capabilities. He wants different things then he does, and in his eyes he is doing whats best for him and his family, the only pepole that matter in reality. No need to crucify the man for it!

Fedor is going to make millions REGARDLESS of if any of you watch him fight or not. How many of you have actually spent money on ordering a Fedor fight on a PRIDE ppv? 5 people max? How many have spent 40 dollars and ordered an affliction ppv? 10 max? Hahahahaha n guess what, he still always made his millions everytime he steps in the ring, and he will continue to until he decides to hang up his gloves regardless if any of you watch him fight or not…so who’s missing out if you guys never watch Fedor fight again you guys, or Fedor? hahaha fools. its like shooting off your nose to spite your face! imbeciles!

by john G on Aug 20, 2009 9:53 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Where are PRIDE and Affliction now that they gave Fedor his millions?

by PW on Aug 20, 2009 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

doesnt matter PW…Fedor gets paid…and guess what? when Strikeforce fails, the UFC willl still be offering Millions to him! yOUr loss, not his!

by john G on Aug 20, 2009 11:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fans should be grateful Fedor signed with Strikeforce. A motivated UFC that has competition means more fights for us to watch, better fight cards, and less chance PPV prices go up. Monopolies hurt the quality of any product, and in this case would be detrimental to the fighters. Options for fighters mean better, less restrictive contracts. We lost out on seeing one marquee fight. What we gained outweighs what we lost out on seeing.

by CL on Aug 20, 2009 11:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually M1 gave him millions and the yakuza/Sakakibara ruined Pride while incompetence/Josh Barnett ruined affliction. In the end, all this fedor talk is meaningless until his deal with strikeforce ends. So instead of complaining enjoy his grappling match here, maybe he makes his way to ADCC and does something there, he will try to regain his world combat sambo title, beat up two top 10 HWs and then eventually he’ll once again be in negotiations with the UFC.

I am also interested in seeing how Lucio Linhares does. Man that guy looks like he’s trying to kill people in the ring.

Daisuke Nakamura is probably the most fun grappler to watch in all of MMA period. He will probly never break into that A class fighter level but still an absolute joy to watch.

Karl Amassou well people will be on his nuts soon enough when bigger promotions get interested in him.

Still not worth $10. Just wait for vids to pop up.

by NameNotRequired on Aug 20, 2009 10:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

And another thing John. You have ripped Tito without mercy for putting his business interests ahead of fighting. I remember when Koscheck had three fights in six months, all against badly overmatched opponents, and we both wondered if he was interested in advancing his career and challenging for the title or just collecting frequent paychecks from inferior opponents. So why when Fedor does the same thing do you celebrate it like he’s doing something great?

by PW on Aug 20, 2009 11:00 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

wait…big difference. I primarily ripped Tito because I thought he sucked as a fighter. I legitimately think Fedor is the best!

I dont celebrate it at all. if I had it my way, he would be fighting Brock in the UFC tomorrow…but im not gonna act like its the end of the world that he gets to beat on Strikeforce Heavyweights instead of the UFC’s who are over rated anyway. Whats the difference? he outclasses alll of them and makes them look l ike they dont belong anyway….so what realy is the difference?

by john G on Aug 20, 2009 11:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The difference is neither Fedor nor anyone else should get to call Fedor the best if he isn’t willing to prove it.

My God. Are you serious? If M-1 can’t sell the show to pay for the apparent “millions” the #1 over rated figter in the world is making, how are they going to pay him?

You need to sell the show to pay the star.

Oh, and do yourself a favour, get off of Fedor’s sack. Your credibility suffers when your obvious man crush kicks into overdrive.

screw fedor hope gegard finds out a way to get out of M1

by albert sekoian on Aug 20, 2009 9:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Gegard is just killing time to get through the DREAM tourney and when it’s over I hope he heads to the UFC. It would require going back to 185 but I think he may be the only MW that can challenge Silva right now. Hendo might do good again but I see that one ending the same way. Hendo was submitted but if I remember correctly it was a hard punch that dazed him and allowed Silva to get him down and take his back. Even with Lutter, he was in a Triangle but I think it was the elbows that really finished him. No one can seem to take a punch from Silva, I would like to see the Dreamcatchers chin take one of those!

by JasonFahQ on Aug 20, 2009 9:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I wouldn’t spend your money on this… (Your = Anyone)

by Dumbdancing on Aug 20, 2009 9:15 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

And as an M-1 bonus feature Fedor and Mousasi will have best of three thumb wrestling match that you can order for an additional $3.99. Sign with the UFC Fedor, chicken$&*t!!!!!!

by dasunluva on Aug 20, 2009 9:21 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So wait, is it on HDNet for free or not?

I’m not paying to watch this shitty card. I made that mistake when I paid for the Lashley/Sapp fight. FML on that.

by Miketsi on Aug 20, 2009 9:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yes the event is on HDNet as well, perhaps they should of included this info in the story to avoid confusion for fans.

by markie on Aug 20, 2009 9:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

HaHa! So Fedor’s dropped his “Star Value” down to $9.95.

And they wonder why the UFC doesn’t want to co-promote…..Priceless.

It’s against a real fighter…. Fedor can’t risk his record against a real top fighter, still in his prime, now can he?

You’re the expert on both of those topics, Dragqueen.

What does this have to do with Strikeforce?

by markie on Aug 20, 2009 11:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fedor signed with strikefarce. M1 copromotes with strikefarce.

This is M1 and Gaydor together… strikefarce’s biggest fighter and co-promter.
