There is a good chance that Nick Diaz’s next fight is in DREAM against Mach Sakurai in October! This fight needs to happen because its a great match up that I have wanted to see for a while now. THere is NOTHING keeping this fight from materializing, so it needs to happen ASAP!

Keith is a world class doucher…there’s a reason Kenny won’t say anything…he takes his lumps when he loses. People get poked in the eye in fights…it happens. I don’t think BJ purposely goes for the eyes…although it wouldn’t suprise me. It wasn’t obvious during the fight so it couldn’t have been very significant. It’s not like it was the reason why Kenny lost that fight. Kenny came in with a solid game plan despite what others may say…but it just didn’t have the effect that he was going for and he paid the price for not haveing a good back up plan.

The only excuse Kenny stated himself was that the long layoff was too much for him. He was basically guaranted a title shot after he beat Huerta and then took a fight with Joe to keep from getting too much ring rust. That’s a full year waiting to get a title shot…that’s pathetic. I can see how having too much prep time can hurt a fighter…you start to overthink and overtrain for the fight.

Kicking downed opponents in the face was wandy’s primary weapon for years in PRIDE, if he can refrain from kicking people in the face…then there is no excuse for Mayhem who has fought his enter career without kicks to a downed opponent being legal!

I like that Keith is trying to displace blame here… BJ said right after the fight that it was Keith’s fault that Kenny wasn’t landing anything because he kept yelling exactly what Kenny was supposed to do. It was Keith’s fault for not disguising himself a little more. Or at least telling Kenny to fight his own fight..

What is it with sore losers today? Keith should have helped Kenny come up with a gameplan that suited him instead of copying off what GSP did, Florian is a good fighter but takedowns aren’t his strong point so that strategy was not going to work for him. The fact that he gave away the gameplan by yelling at the top of his voice so BJ could hear him, when both Florians apparently speak Spanish, is laughable and now this comes across as being a sore loser. BJ outclassed Kenny simple as, whining about non-existent dirty tactics won’t help Kenny improve and will just alienate the fans further.

I agree with John, shocking decision by SF to snub Jacare for that idiot Mayhem. I don’t find the guy funny at all and to me he is just a loudmouth who makes up for his lack of skills by acting like a tool. Jacare-Shields would have been a classic grappling fight, Shields-Mayhem is an easy submission win for Jake. I also agree that he should have been DQ’d in that fight, purposely breaking the rules and causing the fight to be stopped should be an instant DQ.

Diaz-Mach is a sick fight and would be a great chance for Nick to redeem himself after this latest fiasco. This is the sort of fight that I have been hoping to see since the SF-Dream partnership was announced. If it happens, it’ll be a FOTY candidate.

Lets get this straight though…this is Keith Florian making these statements…not Kenny. Kenny said on a radio program today that he did get poked but he said that happens in fights and said he didn’t think it was intentional and it wasn’t the reason he lost. He said he still has vision problems and is going to a doctor to make sure that he didn’t sustain any serious damage. He then went on to give props to BJ for executing a great gameplan and said that it was just BJ’s night and he deserved the win. He stated that he was off with his timing and just couldn’t execute his game plan like he wanted.

I think Keith is trying to live vicariously through Kenny too much.

The only way to settle this is to ask Kenny’s mom what she thinks about this situation.

BJ had his day in court or in front of the athletic commission and I feel that Kenny should also be afforded this same right. If any body wants to feel safe engaging in hand to hand combat ever again, this needs to be nipped in the bud. The only way I see the BJ-gates coming to a full and righteous conclusion is to have two rematches. GSP vs. BJ with the stipulation that GSP will wear rash guards and a thick wool sweater, also GSP is restricted to training only as hard as BJ so as not to be to appear too well built for a clean athlete. Also BJ vs. Florian where Ken gets to wear safety glasses and get all his instructions from brother Keith in Arabic so BJ won’t know all of his plans. Maybe when these two title fights are over we won’t have to see BJ Penn’s ugly mug every time we turn on the computer.
