Don’t think they are showing the GSP fight tonight

by Not Tim on Aug 15, 2009 12:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

They aren’t but they added a couple of the under card fights in instead. I think Coleman/Psycho and Bones/O’Brien.

I was not impressed with GSP-Alves.

I like Lesnar. Don’t make broad assumptions about what people like.

by jay on Aug 15, 2009 1:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

why would u “like” lesnar? Every1 hates him he’s just a big whiny douche.

On a different note, who wants to bet that they don’t show Lesnar’s post-fight antics lol.

by frosnt1 on Aug 15, 2009 1:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

RIGHT JAY- Leasnar’s awesome. I rewind Mir/Lesnar @ 101 at least twice a week. Love seeing Mir’s jacked up mug-
I think there’s a lot of Lesnar fans that are yet to be heard from

by Daveisyourhero on Aug 15, 2009 1:33 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I also like Lesnar…dont know what this fool is talking about…why would I be mad? U do realize that Fedor isnt even on tonight’s card right you troll?

My point was that with TODAY’S invention known as the DVR…whats the point of trying to counter programing a really stacked, LIVE event with an mostly uneventfull fight card that happened only a month ago. Does Dana really think that a historic event that we paid $50 to see only a month ago isnt STILL in our DVR’s

by john G on Aug 15, 2009 2:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

LESNAR is the best thing to ever happened to MMA. He increased fan base and increased revenues. His background brings fans in and his antics keeps people tuning in. Long Live.

john its so funny wen u try to act tough and smart wen ur neither, go f*ck urself..

I’ve always liked Lesnar, he is a legitimate monster and a charismatic guy. His post-fight interviews are crazy and he’s beaten top fighters despite being a novice in MMA. He’s a big draw because he’s like a HW Tito, you either are a fan or you want to see him get destroyed, either way Lesnar = money.

by David W-S on Aug 15, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I have been driving the Lesnar War Wagon since day 1. If I had a sister I would offer her up to him.

by PW on Aug 15, 2009 3:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

What exactly is appealing about him? His arrogance? His disrespectful manner? His intelligence (lol!)? His shouting in the face of a bloodied Frank Mir? His insane pay with barely any MMA resume? His biceps? Please tell me because I’m having some trouble understanding how anyone could be a fan of this a**hole.

Pay attention Frost:

1. I’m a fan of Lesnar because his physical skills are so far beyond anyone else in UFC it’s not even funny. Nobody has his combination of power, speed and explosiveness. Instead of blindly hating the guy you should just appreciate the opportunity to see a once in a generation athlete like him perform.

2. Murr had it coming. Mazzagatti gift-wrapped a win for him the first time they fought, and Murr kept going on about what a superior fighter he was, how Lesnar has no skill etc. Then he got beaten down for 8 minutes until he had to stop. The fact is that Lesnar and Murr have fought twice, totaling about 10 minutes. Murr has controlled about 5 seconds of those 10 minutes.

3. He came in with a ton of name recognition and backed it up by beating, nay, destroying several top fighters on his way to claiming the HW title. Do you think he should be getting paid 8K/8K like some undercard WW?

4. Lesnar has given everyone he’s fought the exact amount of respect they deserved. Murr and Herring ran their mouths about Lesnar not having any skill, not being able to compete in an unscripted event, etc so they had to suffer the humiliation of dominating losses afterward. Randy Couture did not, hence Lesnar gave him plenty of respect.

5. I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that you are one of the many hypocrites on this site who cry over Lesnar disrespecting these glorious ideals of martial arts, then cheer when Henderson drops an elbow on an unconscious opponent.

by PW on Aug 15, 2009 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

plus how can u not like a guy who weighed 300 pounds and was able to do a shooting star press off the top rope…land on his head…and still be able to F5 kurt angle for the win at wrestlemania…the fucking shooting star press….you gotta see that shit….

hell, after seeing him stand up from landing on his own head after the shooting star press its hard to fathom anyone ever hitting him hard enough to knock him out….no one will ever be able to hit him harder than he hit himself at wrestlemania…

AND F5 the big show are u fucking kidding me..

by HellaHectic on Aug 15, 2009 6:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

PW-I second all of that. It is good to see people with knowledge back the man. He is probably not appealing to people who were picked on their whole lives, because he epitomizes the Alpha Male. Get over it guys, this is not butch from elementary school, he isn’t going to take your lunch money. Just because he doesn’t have a lot of skills that are flashy people think he isn’t an MMAist. I like the fact that a guy with almost no experience is still able to smash elite fighters. Soon we will see a wave of phenomenal athletes who have been training all aspects of MMA since practically birth, enjoy raw power and unbridled aggression while you can.

Also wanted to ask you guys. What is the UFC going to do about Randy in the EA MMA game?

by jay on Aug 15, 2009 6:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

when did I try to act tough? you attacked me, and I put you in your place by explaining my reasoning. My knowledge Dwarfs yours buddy!

For starters, I dont post just to say something stupid like “Fedor is a Pu$$y”….you high school kids turn this site into garbage!

Guyverbob = The Ultimate Keyboard warrior…lol

PW spot on mate Lesnar gets a lot of stick because he was in WWE and some people can’t get over that fact and are upset that a fake wrestler is arguably the best HW in MMA after only 5 fights (Fedor is more talented and I still have him at #1 but Brock will fight tougher opponents in his next 3 fights than Fedor guaranteed), ignoring his amateur credentials. You’re also right about the Brock haters being Hendo lovers, hypocrisy at it’s finest right there. Give me a goofy interview about banging Sable and drinking Coors Light over boasts about purposely punching unconcious people anyday.

Jay liked your analogy about Lesnar’s critics being bully victims, maybe it’s because I was one of the mates of the “bullies” (or at least the hardest lads, there wasn’t any malicious bullying during my time at school, it never went further than a bit of banter) but I’m a Lesnar fan.

So what if he’s bigger than the other HWs, he still has to make the 265 limit and has done so without any hassle for all of his fights, it’s up to the other guys to bulk up if they want to be more competetive, he’s too quick for speed to be an adavantage for the smaller guys and is an excellent wrestler so has the technique to compliment his size and strength. Brock is no Bob Sapp or Hong Man-Choi, he is a charismatic big man who has the talent to back up the talk and until someone with his wrestling, speed and strength comes along (possibly Carwin or Cain, they are both his biggest threats in my opinion), he isn’t losing.

Nobody likes Lesnar? Not a big fan of his personality, but I love dominant fighters that have confidence even if it is too much.

Doesnt look like your speaking for too many people on here.

I care! I want to see Brock and Henderson again.
I also want to see the Mark Coleman fight.
Sweet!

I’m excited to see some undercard fights. DVR means I’ll watch both lol.

by Miketsi on Aug 15, 2009 12:59 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I’m excited to see the Bones fight he is with out a doubt the most athletic fighter with the most potential I think he could jump up and fight Jardine or Silva loser next? Even if he isn’t ready a loss might be one of the best learning experiences for him.

by Beaver on Aug 15, 2009 1:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

maybe, but hes arrogant and buys into his own hype, and i do think they wanna buld him up first b4 putting him up there..

by guyverbob on Aug 15, 2009 2:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

guyver are you and I the only two people not swinging from Bones’ junk? I don’t think I’ve ever seen any one else speak ill of the man. I hate the guy but can’t put my finger on why, hype maybe? To much hype to soon? I don’t know but something about him makes me sick.

by jay on Aug 15, 2009 6:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

A loss now is not a good idea, not yet anyway.

by jay on Aug 15, 2009 6:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Who would be next that’s better than his past opponents but not as good as the loser of the Jardine & T.Silva fight?

by Beaver on Aug 15, 2009 5:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Big Lesnar fan here, how can ya not love the guy, he is just an average human being out there that is very athletic and has worked hard for what he has accomplished. No need to hate on the guy cause he was in the WWE, thats how he was making a living at that time. He made his money there then went on too try out for the NFL, he has goals and ambitions just like all of us. Yea he got a title shot and has held on to the belt. Who cares that he hasnt hardly fought yet. Who is gonna stop the guy is the main question. The only fighters that imo can beat him are strikers like Carwin. We havent seen Brock’s face or chin tested very much and ive heard plenty of behind the scene’s people say that his chin is weak. But I enjoy watching him and his antics. His post fight antics after Mir were true feelings, cant dog a guy for letting it all hang out and he is smart. He know’s your either gonna love him or hate him, but either way just like Tito the Burrito Ortiz you are gonna tune in as a fan to see him win, or as a hater to hope that he might lose. Brock BandWagoner for LIFE. Gsp, Marquart, Hendo, Diego, Liddell, Swick, Brock, And Carwin, will always back those guys and for the record if Brock and Carwin fight GO Brock and if GSP and Swick meet up go GSP

saw the replay first time
I could beat lesner, make him go at least 3 rounds, dont give him my leg, keep my back off the cage, use his weight against him, bust his eye socket with my elbow.

the fight with the asian and baster or something like that, he was robbed.

mir, shave your head and get a stronger neck.
