Kenflo has good kicks and jits. But his punches are weak. He needs to lift weights to build up his upper body. Maybe he is he trying to keep his arms skinny so his helbows are razor sharp. His upper body weakness may keep him from beating BJ or Diego. But I would sure like to see him beat both of them.

not gonna happen.
we got 2 ppv’s in aug!
pumped for tonight i hope griffin pulls of the upset and bj takes out kenny in the 4th

BJ doesnt beat anyone that late in fights. Trust me if this fight is still going in the 4th Kenny will be winning!!!!

Well, at least we know why Kenny wants BJ’s belt so badly. It’s because he’s lost so much weight, he needs it to hold up his pants.

Pointless Rumor of the Day***

According to an article I read, Edith got canned (no pun intended) for calling in hungover to UFC 100. Wow, it’s not like her job involves anything you can’t do hungover.

bj penn will win by complete and utter domination

you have it backwards , kenny is going to destroy penn!!!!!!!!

Bj has a big striking advantage in all other phases of the game it’s pretty close but in two areas that I believe kenny has a advantage will help him pull the upset the first is the brains or smarts were I believe Kenny will be better prepared for Bj than BJ will be prepared for Kenny. And the second is endurance I know BJ has improved his but it won’t be were Kenny’s is at this time. I’m picking Kenny but would not be shocked if BJ won I’m expecting a great fight either way.

BJ has a big BOXING advantage, and he definitely hits harder. Overall striking goes to Kenny with his Muay Thai game. I don’t think it will be enough to dethrone the bedwetter though.

You could totaly be right Kenny may have to throw with him because he won’t be able to get him down or get in close much like Penn did against Sherk but I think Kenny is much better than Sherk and will put up a great fight win or lose I hope I’m right anyway.

by Puck Head on Aug 8, 2009 6:17 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, I can’t wait to see how this goes down.

by Jeremyjackson on Aug 8, 2009 6:19 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t remember any fighter having so much pressure to win than Penn does in this fight. He must win. I don’t see him continuing to compete if he loses. It’s a do or die situation for him.

hopefully the coin lands on the die side of that scenario

Grifin should wear a Little Bo Peep costume on the way to the cage, for he is a UFC lamb being led to slaughter.

This is a stupid comment. Makes no sense. How in the world is it do or die? What because he got his butt spanked by GSP????

by Rubberman on Aug 8, 2009 7:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Griffin and florian are going to shock the world tonight.

The oddsmakers in Vegas have Penn and Silva as pretty big favorites in their respective fights at UFC 101. I do like both to win (Penn via decision and Silva via knockout) but I think they should be much closer than people are expecting.

You guys are crazy buying into this hype. Kenny isn’t even in the same league as BJ.

BJ has:
Better boxing
Much better jits
Better wrestling
Better chin

Kenny has:
Better kicks
Better endurance

let’s all give thanks to Jon Anik and MMa Live. Did you see how intense BJ is ? I think he will sit there and drink Kenny’s blood if he gets the chance. I do think the stand up can favor Kenny if he uses that great range and footwork. When it hits the ground i think Kenny will be in trouble but i suspect BJ wouldn’t be able to keep KEnny down as much as is assumed by most. If they fight in 10 parallel universes I think BJ winnns in 6 of them. We’ll see soon enough. Gotta go with ASilva in the co main. He wins in about 8 out of ten parallel Universes.

BJ is gonna test Kenny’s chin and if Kenny has a great one than he is gonna test BJ’s endurance.

A year ago I wouldn’t have given Florian a snowball’s chance in hell, but he has clearly done everything in his power to prepare for the fight of his life.

I see Kenny with a lot of movement, trying to make BJ chase him around, while peppering with his Muy Thai and scoring points. Don’t think he can get BJ to the ground and don’t know if he wants to, at least early in the fight.

There are shades of Bisping vs. Hendo here in that Kenny is gonna stay busier, but if BJ catches him he is in big trouble. Kenny hasn’t fought near the level of competition that BJ has and he may be very surprised at what kind of pressure BJ can bring early and what it means to face one of the very best in the world. Can he survive the first two rounds?

If he does without getting beat up badly, then anything is possible. I’m sure Florian’s endurance is off the charts. I expect that BJ’s has improved considerably, but he won’t have the gas tank Kenny does. He wants to put him away in the first half of the fight for sure.

If Kenny wins, it’s gonna be like BJ’s first fight with Pulver, where he comes back and wins the later rounds, getting a close decision.

BJ, on the other hand, can finish Kenny. He can TKO him, he can sub him, he may even knock him out cleanly.

BJ by second round sub.
