UFC 101 weigh in results LIVE from Philadelphia!

The official weigh-in event for UFC 101: "Declaration" from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has come to a close.
All 22 fighters scheduled to compete on the August 8 card tipped the scales today without incident.
It was a rather pedestrian affair with no real fireworks -- though it did produce an intense staredown between main event participants Anderson "The Spider" Silva and Forrest Griffin.
Joe Rogan made it a point to introduce Silva as "The pound-for-pound best fighter on the planet."
Perhaps the only other noteworthy items were Matt Riddle, who was more like "The Riddler" with his dyed hair and Tamdan McCrory, who nearly became "The Towel Cat" after a hard weight cut.
Here are the complete UFC 101 weigh in results:

170 lbs.: Danillo Villefort (170.25) vs. Jesse Lennox (171)
Note: Fighters are allowed to weigh one pound more than the division limit in non-title fights.
The latest quick updates of the live action will begin to flow earlier than that around 8 p.m. ET.
It’s going to be an awesome and memorable night of fights so don’t miss it. And remember to check us out for all the pre, during and post-fight UFC 101 coverage you can handle.

It’s amazing how fast you can go from the main event to the undercard, Thales.

Looks like he went a little overboard with his weight cut. Glad I don’t have any cash on him.

He looked pretty drained. Get an IV in that kid immediately.

Sotiropolous looks really f’n skinny.
Im surprised no ones asked about the Dana video blogs this week. I’m guessing he didn’t do them, Mania?

I am guessing the scale he used was a little off.

So I guess it will not be shown on ESPN News like UFC 100. Back to the streaming web.

ESPN weigh ins are terrible, they never know when to shut up.
They also like to cut away from staredowns to show the guys’ in the studios ugly mugs.

Thier weigh in coverage for UFC 100 was a JOKE!!! I was sitting there watching it online, waiting for it to come on TV, then it finally does when they get to the last 3 fights, and they showed John Anik’s face 1000 times. If I remember correctly, they even had the ESPN commentator’s faces (and Randy) in a pop up window on the bottom of the left of the screen when they actually showed the stage/scale/fighters.

HELP! HELP! HELP! Jesse HOlland, Mania, someone please respond to this quickly,. I am in philly trying to catch the weigh ins. Can anyone tell me what time they start and what time it ends?
by John G on Aug 7, 2009 4:17 PM EDT up reply actions
Direct TV shows it in its entirety before every PPV. Channel 101 with no BS at all. Just Rogan doing his thing.

They’re over, John. The BJ/Kenny staredown was pretty intense. For guys who are streaming the weigh-ins, just so you know: if you get the PPV channels in your cable package, the weigh-ins are always free and live on whatever PPV channel the fights are on.

Silva’s ability to transition between wt classes is pretty amazing. If I recall correctly, he actually came into the Leites fight in the low 180’s. Now at 205, he arguably looks more fit carrying the extra 20 pds. Crazy! It would be interesting to know more about his diet and training as it relates to the wt he’s trying to be at.

or it could be the fact that his normal walking around weight is around 210-215.

Is the preview show for UFC 101 (that they are showing in the background from the stream) online so I can watch it? I missed it this week.
by sawyer on Aug 7, 2009 3:51 PM EDT reply actions
Is the stream working for you guys, it was working and now it’s up and down all the time in the http://www.ufc.com/multicast/ link, and the silverlight version doesn’t work at all.
Man when are they going to get this stuff right! They have problems with the video stream every time.
by sawyer on Aug 7, 2009 4:03 PM EDT reply actions
Very strange… Did anyone see what he looked like? And he fought at 185 on the show.
by BNF on Aug 7, 2009 4:26 PM EDT up reply actions
thales looks like a dead man…
by brendan(formerly a bunch of names that no one cares about) on Aug 7, 2009 4:29 PM EDT reply actions
does anyone else think silva looked a little to fat. I think he ate a little bit to much milk & cookies to go up a weight class.
by broski on Aug 7, 2009 4:29 PM EDT reply actions
anderson doesnt have to eat anything to move up a weight class…he walks around at like 220
by chuckandfedor on Aug 7, 2009 5:52 PM EDT up reply actions
That maybe. But he does look alittle pudgy.
by justagirl on Aug 7, 2009 6:08 PM EDT up reply actions
More like 210. But yeah, if he wanted to maximize his effectiveness at that weight he could have a lower body fat percentage and more muscle.
by Jeremyjackson on Aug 7, 2009 6:11 PM EDT up reply actions
Silva Griffin and Penn Florian had great staredowns.
