MMA Quick Quote: Gina Carano plans on keeping the load right where it's at

"When I first started in Showtime I was called the pet project: ‘Here, I’m going to help you out and put you on this show.’ In my head, I’m like, I train and work out like everyone else. They like to tell you what you’re not. They like to keep you down, so they can get more out of you for their money. But fans don’t lie. When they’re all chanting your name, you know they’re supporting you. So we went from being the pet project to now we’re headlining an event. So this is huge for me. I’ve been carrying this whole thing with women’s mixed martial arts for a couple years, and that’s a lot. It’d be a great thing to win and hold that belt. But that means that load stays right where it’s at."
-- Female mixed martial arts mega-star and recent Strikeforce acquisition Gina Carano shares her evolution as a fighter with the New York Times heading into her championship bout against Chute Boxe-trained striker Cristiane Santos on August 15. "Conviction" has not competed since a three-round drubbing of Kelly Kobold in October 2008, winning via unanimous decision and pushing her perfect record to seven wins versus zero defeats. Can she handle the fury of Cyborg? Or will the Brazilian crumble against Carano's Muay Thai? Predictions please...

the load of the only relevent womens fight ever…..i love it because it will become irrelevent again as soon as gina gets stomped and a ugly dyke is #1

That’s nothing compared to the load her Kankles are under.
Jesse knew what kind of can o’ worms he was opening with that headline…

I know, It kind of ambiguous, don’t you think?

My headlines and I would be nothing without you guys…

Hope that “load” doesn’t prevent her from making weight AGAIN.

Her legs are cut out of the picture again, huh? Hmmm, I wonder why?

Alpha, I can always count on you to get my perverse puns.
I could care less about the cankles. I just keep thinking about her in a POV scenario servicing a dedicated fan. It’s the least she could do after all the support I’ve shown.

its like she doesn’t realize she’s only got a big name cause she’s really hot

Lmao, no doubt. This fight shouldn’t be headlining the show but whatever. I’ll watch because I paid but after this I don’t much need to see Gina or Cyborg pound on soccer moms.

She isn’t hot, she’s only attractive relative to other chick fighters.

Come on. Don’t be stupid. IMO, she’s an 8.3. She’s got a nice face, nice chesticles, and the mild cankles only take a few decimals off of what would be an 8.6. PW, your game must be out of this world. Keep your pimp foot forward.

it seems like she is implying she wants to lose……

She’s the underdog in this fight. If it’s close, they will give her the nod for sure, but I can see her getting KO’d. If she won, it would do wonders for women’s mma because she’s an unbelievable poster child. Think she knows that she may not take this one, though.

Well did anyone do a gender verification on Cyborg…I’m kind of concerned she’s really Tito Ortiz in drag.

Come on you guys Gina got to where she is on her talents she is the best MMA womans fighter ever dont hate her skills.

I think Gina is one of the greatest Mix Martial Artist in the game right now…seems to be a GSP counter part in the womens division…I haven’t seen a lot of Cyborg’s fights but I heard she is good…Win or loose Gina’s career will steam roll on…I think on a side note if Dana White doesn’t want women in the UFC, why not make a womens division in the WEC…now there is a thought…I think fans would love it…any ideas on that…love to hear…www.fullaggression.com

Dana’s already said he won’t do it because there aren’t enough talented women fighters out there to have enough weight class’s/champs to make womens MMA interesting.

Props on incorporating GSP into a womens MMA board

Grow up guys. Gina is going to take her in aug. Cris is fast and moves good but Gina has the power and the ground game to take her out. It will be a good fight and anything can happen. I think that Gina will win by k.o.
