Amir Sadollah: 'It was time for me to grow and learn'

Props: Canadian Press
Quoteworthy:
"One thing I learned is how important rest is. You think more is better but that's not usually the case ... knowing to say when enough is enough and when to say this is not enough, keep going. It was a time for me to grow and learn. I definitely stayed perpetually active the last year, aside from a few weeks I had to sit out. There was nothing to do but keep doing what I'm doing. (Welterweight's) a new territory for me but actually in a strange way it's forced me to eat so clean that I actually feel better training for this fight. That'll be the test on August 8. I'm anxious to see myself."
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 season winner Amir Sadollah (1-0) anticipates his return to the Octagon after more than a year on the sidelines following back-to-back injuries in preparation for Nick Catone, first for UFC 91 (leg infection) and then again for UFC Fight Night 17 (clavicle). Now he makes his welterweight debut against Johnny Hendricks at UFC 101 this Saturday, August 8, from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pa. With less than a week to go and still healthy, Sadollah may finally get the chance to prove he belongs among the rest of the TUF elite.

Looks like a lot of good dog value plays in there. Straight wagers on all the underdogs should net a decent payoff.

Just pulled a 14 hour shift, going to bed! May not post much this week! If anyone will be in Philly for 101 and want to get together, email me kevjack115@yahoo.com and I’ll shoot you my cell. I’m gonna be doing tourist type stuff fri and sat! I can still get one more ticket too if anyone needs one.
Good night guys I’m OUT!
by the way, I’m still wondering if John, John G. or Jizz dollar is going to 101???

with Tuchscherer at +300, it would be a good idea for anyone to throw down 50 bucks on him. One of brock lesnars hand-picked training partners, and a guy who got his start in my town, i can tell you he’s no scrub. hes not a ripped 260 lbs, but dont think that gonzaga is just gonna walk thru him.

hope amir does really well. very cool guy with some skill though i think he’s mostly a stand up and bjj guy, hopefully he’s developed some wrestling cause you need that in the ufc big time. heard dana and the fretittas talking about going to dubhai for the ufc and he’s from the mid-east so im sure they want to use him for marketing there.

@Kevin. In regards to the thread on the Forrest mobile you sent yesterday. NO, you will have absolutely no trouble getting a parking spot in VIP on saturday. The lots are clearly marked off above the gates that specify which are regular and which are VIP

Maybe he really is at Cage Potato. Or he will make a triumphant return later in the week with a new handle, known in the wrestling world as a “heel turn.”

Screen name bandit might have ruined Koba’s rep in the other thread.
Screen name bandit is now trying to ruin my rep in the Maia thread.
BTW- I really hope Amir makes a healthy and improved comeback.
Add me to the bandwagon.

Definitely rooting for Amir, he seems to be a good dude and he’s funny as hell. I still laugh at his quote from TUF…..“i predict Matt Brown will win by……..MURDER” Pretty funny shit. I still can’t tell if he’s that good, or if his win streak on the show was more of an anomaly due to weak competition……i certainly enjoyed watching him kick CB’s ass twice. Moving to 170 should be an advantage.

Yeah Amir, you’ve been fighting entirely too much, Please take a few months off!
