Fuck Fedor… go fight nobody’s for the rest of your career… like my nutsack.

Fedor will go back to where he feels most comfortable, Japan – The Land of the Falling Can! Maybe there you can get the ridiculous demands you and your mafia handlers crave so bad. Good luck in MMA obscurity fighting the likes of Sapp and Canseco for the rest of your days.

haters haters haters… dont forget that this guy has beaten probably half the heavyweights in the ufc right now, nogueira, cro cop, herring, coleman… sure there is some rising talent with the likes of carwin and brock but really the only fight for him is brock… can you see anyone else in the ufc standing a chance? would it really be that big of a deal if we didnt see this one fight? wouldnt be the worst thing to happen…

by brendan on Aug 1, 2009 10:44 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

“Wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen”. I guess not in comparison to nuclear Armageddon, but In terms of most anticipated matches in MMA history, I think it’s right up there.

FYO I used to be a massive Fedor fan, but I have no time for him and his gangster handlers ludicrous demands. I have no interest following a guy who would rather fight carnival shows in Japan rather than prove himself the best by taking on the best guys in the number one MMA organisation.

I believe the “co – promoting” excuse is just a smokescreen to raise Fedor’s price in Japan as they know UFC would never agree to it, and M1 know Fedor would get wiped out by the likes of Brock and Carwin and doesn’t have the skill to compete with Machida or Silva.

by attakdog on Aug 1, 2009 10:56 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dude, those fighters that you just mentioned have gotten smashed in the UFC. So whats your point? Brock could GnP the sh*t out of him. If Carwin connects first, then its over. Cain’s wrestling could grind out a decision. Randy could keep him pressed against the cage and dirty box his @ss for 3/5 rounds. All of these are real possibilities!

by JV on Aug 1, 2009 11:02 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Coleman??? He’s a LHW now and was last a competitive HW in 1997. CC’s sucked in the UFC and Herring’s never been more than a gatekeeper. Big Nog’s the only guy who’s achieved anything but looked horrible in his last fight.

Fedor’s seen the success those guys have had coming from the ring to the cage and thought I want no part of this, I’ll keep the Fedor legend intact by fighting cans in Japan.

by attakdog on Aug 1, 2009 11:08 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Agree with Attakdog 100%, and will add that as much as I like Big Nog, he hasn’t looked good in ANY of his UFC fights. If Randy beats him in the next fight, who can the UFC give him near the top that he can beat?

Fedor was the king of the worst division. Honestly, as much as the HW division has improved, it is probably still the thinnest. Fedor could easily make 205, but then he jumps smack dab into the deep end, and M-1 loses their blue chip unbeatable warrior.

I am not saying that he isn’t a great fighter, but an unbeatable best p4p fighter in the world? Sorry, I never drank that glass of Kool-Aid.

Does anyone know what they are saying about it in Russia? I’m bored with it at this point. The only thing I’m still curious about is how it’s being perceived elsewhere.

Punch, I honestly doubt whether 10% of the Russian population have heard of Fedor, let alone care what he does. This guy is not the Russian Michael Jordan like some people will have you believe. He really isn’t that famous in Russia.

haha…how could Fedor be the highest paid when he’s only fought in lowball promotions?? are you retarded?? do you not understand what Dana white is saying?? Fedor still has obligations to M-1, so it isn’t his decision. He has said that after he fulfills his obligations, that he could possibly fight in the UFC. Hopefully M-1 will stop being stupid before then though!!

by Drew on Aug 3, 2009 7:19 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dude, you obviously don’t know MMA at all. The truth is that Fedor could lose all 3 fights on this new contract with Strikeforce and he’d still be the greatest MMA fighter of all time. He has accomplished far more than any other fighter has in MMA (ever). I doubt he’ll lose any of those fights, but how many other fighters have fought 31 professional fighters and never been beaten?? He has fought men that make Brock Lesnar look small. And he has consistently fought the BEST. With all the wars Fedor has gone through I don’t even feel like Brock deserves a shot at Fedor, the true MMA HW champion.

he knows he can’t beat the top hw’s in the world that is why no deal can be made!! what do you think they would say if the ufc said oh ok we’ll do this co promotion thing aswell we want fedor!! what kind of excuse would they have to not sign??? he will never sign he wants to fight losers and keep is record and keep his value , he comes to ufc and doesn’t win a fight , then what’s he worth , nothing just another fighter

by attakdog on Aug 1, 2009 12:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah. Honestly, if Randy decided to retire soon, I think that would be the guy for Tito to learn from. It would probably never happen due to the fighters that already train there, but I think it would be the best fit for him. Good Back or not, if he trains with the other Team Punishment fighters most of the time, adding Roach will not be enough to make a huge difference. My 2 cents anyway.

by naturalshadow on Aug 1, 2009 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Is it so hard to understand Fedor has a contractual agreement with M1-Global? If he did not, I’m pretty sure he would have taken UFC offer. But it is not entirely up to him, he is tied to M1 for 3 more fights.

by im_the_Juggernaut_bitch on Aug 1, 2009 10:33 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Guess it just seems like he’d have some say in it being he is part owner and their only source of income >.> but whatever, it’s very possible we don’t know everything that is going on between him and M1.

Dude if M-1 is copromoting all of his fights, they should count his fights in any other organization towards the fights on his M-1 contract.

by RyanHobbs on Aug 2, 2009 3:40 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Look, Co-Promotion can’t happen for various legal reasons, which is a FACT. If Fedor has a contract with M-1 (which he is a part owner), then consessions could have been made to ensure M-1 would be compensated along with M-1. Co-Promotion can’t happen, it’s not that Dana doesn’t want it to happen, it CAN’T happen for reasouns beyond the UFC’s control.

So if M-1 didn’t want to find a way to work it out, and find a way to make up for the co-promotion issue, they aren’t interested in furthering MMA, like they claim.

What has M-1 actually done to help increase the popularity, respectability and visability of MMA in the U.S. or anywhere else. Given they are from Russia, what have they done to promote and increase MMA in their own country. No one can put definitive answers to that. Say what you want about Dana and the UFC, but any of us can give a list of what they have done to increase MMA, even if you don’t like everything they have done or stand for, they have greatly been responsible for MMA what it is!

by sawyer on Aug 1, 2009 10:49 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Oh I’m all for burning M-1 to the ground, they are the ones who made this deal not happen. I wish Fedor would come out and give his fans a better explanation than they’re getting, if he doesn’t, well then he should expect to lose some fans and some of his prestige.

by Rawrr on Aug 1, 2009 10:55 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hear it from the man himself. He is tied to M1. I don’t think he even contemplates unilateral decisions that imply canceling and/or compensating M1. I respect he is a man of his word.
I blame it all on his crazy mafia thug manager and his stupid plan to hijack the UFC.
Hopefully Fedor will get these 3 fights out of the way ASAP and sign with the UFC before he is too old.

by im_the_Juggernaut_bitch on Aug 1, 2009 11:34 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

How’s he going to fulfill these fights? M1 are incapable of putting on a show with him that would make anything except a monumental loss. Otherwise they’d have tried it already, that’s why they’re so keen on trying to piggyback onto the UFC.

Are Dream or Strikeforce going to let themselves get Hijacked with the co-promotion cr@p – M1 Global Presents Dream 15? M1 Global Presents Strikeforce- Here come the greedy Russians??

I dont see how he will fulfill his supposed contractural obligations to M1 anytime soon.

by attakdog on Aug 1, 2009 12:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This says it all; quote from Dana White:

“People from other countries just don’t walk in and jump in business with the Fertitta brothers,” he said. “There has to be full background checks and all kinds of crazy sh-t. It doesn’t work that way. It’s impossible; it will never happen.”

Given the gaming licenses that the Fertitta’s have, they have to perform extensive background checks and other very critical stuff. There is a lot of legal things that need to be done, and they need to protect their business. I’m sure they explained that to M-1 and Fedor. This time it’s not Dana being unreasonable, it’s M-1 being unreasonable.

I’m done and will always argue against Fedor being the best now, even though I was a big fan. If you keep finding ways not to fight instead of finding ways to fight, you don’t want to fight. Name any other great fighter MMA boxing or otherwise. The best want to fight the best, to prove themselves. This has never been Fedor’s desire. ’Nuf Said!

It’s unfortunate. My brother in law just emailed me pissed off about the Fedor situation. He said that I should write Dana White and tell him to stop being so greedy. I had to explain to him that this had nothing to do with greed on Dana Whites part. This is just crazy management with ridiculous demands. I still think that if there is any way that all of the rumors of hep were false that Aleks should compete in the UFC.

I hope the UFC goes after all the other decent heavyweights out there. I think Antonio Silva and Bobby Lashley can draw some interest. I’m sure Strikeforce is eyeing both of these guy’s.

I really hope Dana stops wasting his time with Fedor and goes out and gets as many good heavyweights as possible. Maybe then Fedor will come begging to get in the UFC.

Can anyone think of good heavyweights that are available to the UFC

by luke on Aug 1, 2009 11:45 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Maybe Overeem but he’d struggle with drug tests. Werdum but he’s only just left. Possibly Brett Rogers, he has potential but might be tied to strike force.

by attakdog on Aug 1, 2009 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think Luke is onto something that could leave fedor with no other choice but to sign with the UFC

If dana goes ahead and signs under contract what ever possible compeling opponents fedor would have outside the ufc………… like Overeem, rogers, big silva ,lashley, monson, werdum. That would leave m-1 with no possibilities of a worthy opponent for fedor whatsoever.

even the biggest fedor fans would care less to see him fight someone no one has ever heard of. he would be despised by mma fans world wide for refusing to fight quality opponents pretty much how he is now viewed in the U.S.

by attakdog on Aug 2, 2009 2:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The main point about the Fedor that is 110% true is the co promotion BS that M1 is is only willing to deal with? I believe M1 is hurting and no their only chance of surviving is to get a deal done with another organization and are playing hard ball right now. I feel that there will no organization willing to deal with them on the co promotion for the simple fact without Fedor M1 does not have any other talent to co promote on such a large scale audience, Strikeforce is doing fine without Fedor as well and any kind of co promotion deal would take away from them for the simple fact that M1 would only be giving one fighter for half the profit Strikeforce wouldn’t be stupid enough to come to those terms either. We still might see Fedor in the UFC aafter M1 receives it’s other offers. If Strikeforce was stupid enough to go co promotion it would just be a matter of time it went belly up over one fighter as well and the UFC will have a pick of any talent they want from there as well = a win win for Dana and the UFC either way.

by Beaver on Aug 1, 2009 4:11 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Fedor is obviously somebody’s girlfriend. This past week he has proven he is not interested in being a top competitor. He should be removed from the p4p best and the media should stop talking about him all together. Dana should remove his offer and give it to fighters that have a will and drive to compete. Tito could have pulled the Fedor move of bouncing around the rest of career fighting has beens too. But he picked his head up and patched his relationship with the UFC to fight at a higher level. Like him or hate him you have to respect that he is willing to take a chance. Really you even have to repect Kimbo Slice for stepping up. Fedor has earned no ones respect this week. You can only live on your past accomplishments if you retire entirely from the sport. You can’t maintain your MVP status of the major leagues if your playing down in the minors… Cowboy up or get out!!!!!!!!!!

by graymg1 on Aug 1, 2009 4:14 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I totaly agree if you don’t face the best you can’t be called the best. When he was in Pride he faced the best and was the best proof by action and results. To be rated #1 by what he did so long ago is a disgrace for any combat sport because it’s clear he hasn’t faced the best since Pride any MMA fan can tell you that with out a doubt. In the UFC there is no doubt cause the best face the best. Fedor needs to prove it I’m sure 90% of fans agree.

by Beaver on Aug 1, 2009 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I am not trying to start a fedor war here, but someone explain to me how is he so great? he beat cro cop and big nog in their primes, and i give him all the credit in the world for that, because he beat both fighters at a time when nobody thought they could be beaten, but other than that, all he has ever beaten has been at best, B list fighters. Go look at his record and he really hasn’t beat the greats, and now he is running from the chance to fight some of the up and coming greats. So what makes fedor so great? Is it the fact that he has beaten some former UFC champs? well guess what, they are former champs for a reason, fedor wasn’t the first to beat them. Is it the fact he beat crocop and nog, 4-5 years? When he was in Pride, he beat the top guys so at that time he was the best, but now these guys who were the best then (i still think nog is one of the best around) are not great anymore, so either he fights in the UFC, or we stop talking to about him.

by RUN-FEDOR-RUN on Aug 1, 2009 5:58 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

In the end, I think the Fedor thing is great. I’m glad we finally see his true colors, we can immediately remove him from any P4P list, and he will gradually slide down the HW ladder over the next couple years.

It sucks to be Fedor from our perspective, but not his because he could care less about his reputation as a fighter.

It really is a shame Fedor won’t come to the UFC. As much as I want to hate on Fedor like a lot of you here, I think you have to look at this whole situation from his perspective.

1. Fedor is contractually obligated to fight under the M1 banner. He has 3 fights remaining and that means signing with the UFC is currently out of the question. Now, if after these three fights (cans of course), he STILL doesn’t sign with the UFC then I will lose all respect for him regardless of the fact that he supports M1 and his management.

2. He despises Dana White. The shit that Dana has talked over the years is something I’m very certain Fedor has not forgotten. Now with Tito and Dana making up, you can argue that Fedor could do the same thing with Dana. Problem is, Fedor was never friends with Dana to begin with and you have to realize the huge difference in cultures.

3. He doesn’t like the idea of fighting for an AMERICAN MMA organization. He has stated this clearly in many, many interviews in the past. He loves fighting in Russia and Japan. Sure, this is definitely not a good reason to avoid the top MMA fighters, but that’s just the way he feels.

Hopefully he realizes that many MMA fans are losing his respect of being the world’s best fighter and signs with the UFC. He needs to put his personal feelings aside and prove he is the best.

by MMAFanatic on Aug 1, 2009 6:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If he doesn’t like the idea of fighting for an American MMA org, then why sign with affliction? And to my knowledge he’s never said anything about despising Dana White, Fedor doesn’t seem like that type of person. He’s not stupid, he understands business, I’m sure he understands that those remarkes were not personal attacks but marketing ploys.

@MMAFanatic Don’t believe the hype, If Fedor was truly locked in to a 3 fight M1 contact, then why are M1 shopping him around, his manager already said they are still talking to people and trying to find the best deal, plus Fedor is one of the owners of M1, he could probably let himself out of the deal if he wanted. Its this simple, he has two big names on his resume (nog and cro cop) and he is content with that, he doesnt feel the need to prove anything, and thats fine, but the fans are who made him the so called legend he is and his actions disrespect the fans and sport, he wants to finish his career as the untouchable fighter that the message boards have made him out to be, but one day he will lose (again) and when he does it will 100x worst than if he signed and lost in the UFC, cause no matter where he runs to now, one day a nobody is going to catch him and ruin his p4p best fighter ever status with one lucky punch, then he will realise he isn’t bigger than the sport
