anderson is no where near as crappy as bisping. good luck and good riddance. 2-0 vs franklin and anderson will be 2-0 against this fella.

I’m going for Hendo. Lets end the dominance stretch.

Here’s Cracked.com’s take on the Hendo Bisping fight. You won’t be dissapointed.
“Going into UFC 100, Michael “The Count” Bisbing had managed to build up a full steam of douchebaggery with his pre-fight comments and dick behavior on The Ultimate Fighter reality show. The crowd was definitely not on his side.
Luckily, if this hurt Bisbing’s feelings, Henderson hit him hard enough in the second round that he got to walk through a tunnel and talk to Jesus personally about it. Dan’s right hand dropped him like a cartoon. He hit him so hard that even gravity got scared. Bisbing hung in mid-air for a moment while gravity screamed at inertia, “Did you see that shit!?” Then, after a high five, the two universal forces quit screwing around and yanked Bisbing’s limp body into the floor.
Henderson wasn’t done dominating Bisbing and gravity, though. After the man-shaped sack of bangers and mash landed, Dan flew into the air and came down on Bisbing’s head with Fistos, the forbidden punch of legend. Henderson went fully horizontal with both feet in the air like some kind of maniac skydiver. If you were the greatest warrior that ever lived, came across a sleeping enemy and had six hours to plan one ultimate punch, this is the punch you would throw."
Damn straight. GO HENDO!

Yeah it’s pretty dead on. I will be rooting for Hendo for sure, but I think Anderson will more likely get it done. I really do think Dan has the tools to beat Anderson, but it’s just a matter of who utilizes their skill set better that night. I give Anderson a slight advantage, but Dan can definatley pull this thing off. Wouldn’t that be something, a near 40 year old Dan Henderson taking out the most feared fighter in the world? Man I really hope he does it, but I’m not holding my breath.

Nothing against you Sir C, but if that is the best writing style Cracked can up with, I’m glad I don’t wasted my time on that site!!

Dude, hendo can beat anyone in the division. He won the first round, but lost control of the fight. Silva is going down. Hope I get some good odds! Hell ya.

Hendo is the coolest. I hope he can take Silva out.
Now if we could just get those beantown duds off him…
by rockwell on Aug 1, 2009 1:46 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah Hendo is a great fighter. It would be cool to see him be the man to beat Anderson Silva. The only one to ever get a rematch with him in the UFC so far was Rich Franklin.

haha…come on McArthur…he’s reppin’ Beantown!!

I disagree with you jascri. Watch that fight again and you will notice (it took me a couple times to see this!) that Hendo essentially “gives up” and seems to be waiting for the end to come.
by chefdaddy on Aug 1, 2009 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hendo does not deserve a rematch, the only people who want to see this fight are Hendo and his fans who bum off him. I never wanted to see this fight in the first place, Anderson beat him comfortably in R2 and Dan hasn’t improved since then, he is the same fighter albeit a bit older who’s only KO in the UFC was over Bisping and that was after some of the worst possible tactics for a fight with Henderson.
All of this talk of him deserving a rematch for winning one round is laughable, Thales Leites won a round and took the fight to a decision, Patrick Cote lost through injury, that doesn’t make either man worthy of Anderson’s time and neither is Hendo.
The Maia-Marquardt winner should have got the shot, Demian is on a roll and Nate has looked more impressive recently than Hendo. At best, Hendo should have faced the Nate-Demian winner, that way their would be an undisputed contender instead of moving Hendo from one pointless rematch to another.
After his disgraceful behaviour at 100, I will never call myself a Dan Henderson fan and I have to think that if it was anyone other than Bisping who Hendo did that to then he’d be as unpopular as Barnett and Lesnar right now. Call me crazy or a hater but I don’t support arrogant fighters who punch unconcious opponents then boast about it when they’re lying limp and could be seriously injured.

War Hendo!
He’s fast becoming one of the most popular UFC fighters and if he can beat Anderson I can only imagine what kind of praise Dana is gonna lavish on him.
If he was 185 champ, there are not many people I can see that would be a huge threat to him. Marquardt vs Hendo would be very entertaining though I would imagine.
I am somewhat worried about Maias submission game, but Palhares did not have much luck with Hendo.
by DirtyML on Jul 31, 2009 11:32 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I would like to see Hendo fight Marquardt as much as a rematch with Silva. I would rank Hendo as the number two middleweight, so another good fight between two top fives would be awesome.

Im so happy that he isnt fighting Franklin again. That would not be fair to him. I’ll be rooting for him again like in his last fight with Anderson. I know he CAN do it but its a matter WILL he. I say yes.

Am I the only one that thought he was doing really well – ifnot winning against Anderson Silva until that near naked choke?
by Luppers on Jul 31, 2009 11:37 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Only if you’re saying he won the first round. But that’s a given. He won the first round but that’s it. It was down hill from there.
by Kobajack on Jul 31, 2009 11:39 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
And he didnt exactly dominate either he just kept control.
by belfort_fan on Aug 1, 2009 1:44 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah exactly. He did well, but inflicted minimal damage. The best he got were the repeated hammer fists.
by Kobajack on Aug 1, 2009 2:55 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hopefully it will be another story next time.
by belfort_fan on Aug 1, 2009 12:22 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He was doin’ well all right…Till he got rocked by that knee…And his conditioning too should be improved, or else Silva would just outlast him wherever the fight goes.
If Hendo could give Silva fits again on the ground, then we shall see Anderson prove to us why he can’t be put away.

Equally newsworthy. But I’d appreciate it if you’d edit out the Korean prostitute sitting on my lap.

by toronto_zach on Jul 31, 2009 11:41 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
i actually JUST re-watched the fight between he and silva. he definitely won the first, and the second round was a lot more back and forth than i remembered, up until hendo got caught with the knee. then it was all downhill from there. i think if he sticks to his game plan, he has a shot. he hasn’t looked as dominating as his fights in pride, but on the other hand, neither has silva. that fight with thales was sad. i never felt thales deserved to be there to begin with, but to last 5 rounds? that reminded me of the photo i saw of the snake that befriended the mouse it was supposed to eat.
i don’t know who i would want to win between the 2, as long as it’s a great fight. but it is exciting to see who (if anyone) can topple silva. but as long as we’re talking re-matches, i think marquadt has a great shot after seeing his past few fights. he’s really grown, especially with his striking. kampann was steamrolled.
by Scott on Jul 31, 2009 11:57 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
It’s funny how people talk about the Lutter and Hendo fights as if they would have won if they just hadn’t gotten caught. That’s Silva’s game. You might get him down and you might win a round with LnP – but HE WILL CATCH YOU sooner or later. The man’s striking is simply awesome. Hendo has no chance in this fight.
by Jeremyjackson on Aug 1, 2009 12:06 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
no kidding its not getting caught if a striker hits u in the face..

JJ-I agree completely, Man the Yankees would have won yesterday if they had just gotten a three run homer. Arizona would have won the Superbowl if they had covered Santonio Holmes better with a minute left in the game. That is the idea. Anderson is tactiful, waits for the opening or the mistake and capitalizes. That is what he has done since day one and that is what made the Laites fight so boring. Neither one engaged so there was no counter for Silva. In defense of Anderson, you are not always going to have perfect nights. It must be hard to get pumped up for an opponent that you know has no business in the ring with you.
by Da Monkey on Aug 1, 2009 8:37 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Exactly, well said JJ. Everyone who thinks that Hendo was unlucky the first time and will win a rematch is a biased Hendo fan, including Mania himself.
by David W-S on Aug 2, 2009 2:49 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
This will be a whole different fight in Henderson’s favor. He won the first round on a night he felt out of rythm and not himself. He will definitely be ready.
If anything, it should motivate Silva to be more active and aggressive than his last two fights.

oops! “he hasn’t looked as dominating as his fights in pride, but on the other hand, neither has silva.”
i meant to say silva’s last 2 fights. he’s a monster, but just not on those 2 nights.

I was never a huge Hendo fan but to be honest he has grown on me, im scottish and the way he carried himself on the tuf was great, and bisping looked like a dick at times!!
However this is still a very hard fight for Hendo to win, i think many of his fans are getting carried away with the bisping win. im not saying it wasnt impressive, however he wont be able to walk through anderson’s strikes and that poses problems!!
Yes on the ground he has a chance but we are all forgetting thats where anderson finished him the last time and hes been impressive on the ground before, his bjj is very tight and thats with talented guys on top of him.
A very interesting fight and a fight that had to happen for the division as dan is really the only guy at 185 that has asked any questions of anderson other than how sore they can make his knees and fists!!

How come when Babalu admits to holding a choke in for 2 seconds after the tap he gets booted out of the UFC, but when Dan Henderson admits hitting a guy he knew was out cold he gets a title shot?
by Ermac on Aug 1, 2009 7:40 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Because the ref hadn’t stopped the fight yet. In almost every fight, you’ll agree, each fighter goes in for a follow-up punch, to finish his opponent off, even when the odds are that his opponent is knocked out. It’s worthwhile to make sure because in the midst of action, a fighter with a quick recovery may reorient himself and find time to recover. Hendo would have followed-up anyway.
Yeah, he admitted he knew Bisping was out, but, from what I gather, he wasn’t 100% sure — and wanted to make sure.
But I agree, there’s a thin line between what he did being wrong or right, but he played within the rules of the game, technically not breaking any, and can be excused because he DIDN’T break any rules and by being in the midst of action he was only doing what he went there to do, which was to KO Bisping and win.
by Kobajack on Aug 1, 2009 8:16 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
dont talk crap hendo you wont get out the 1st round..BIG WOW You KO’D bisping
by moi on Aug 1, 2009 8:03 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Hendo got caught in their first fight, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t improved since then. granted, the guy is not getting any younger, but he has proven to be a dominant middleweight and has beaten some solid fighters recently. He’s a bad matchup for anybody because of his wrestling and I think GSP has a better chance of beating silva than hendo.

forest will beat silva then henderson will win the title what do some of you think silva is unbeatable that no one can beat him that everyone should just give up as soon as the bell rings it is not going to happen it happens all the time in mma once someone losses other losses seem to follow silva aint exactly 18 anymore either he is also in his 30s
