I like Forrest. He’s the Jack Dempsey of MMA. Don’t ask me why. DON’T ASK ME WHY.

Dempsey was a mean bastard. Gotta love the old-school Irish shitkickers. Those were some tough SOBs.

Introvert, what fight were you watching. Tito was getting owned by Forrest standing up.
Forrest hinted that he had some injuries from training in that video. Hopefully it’s just the usual bumps and bruises.

Tito has nothing left. He will lose to anyone in the top 10 especially Griffin.

how do you figure? If he’s 100% after the surgery and a year of rehab, he could come back stronger than ever! Like him or not, he’s a talent!
by kevin on Jul 30, 2009 2:17 PM EDT up reply actions
he is a talent and better than 90% on this site thinks.. weakest part of Griffin’s game is his wrestling, and that happens to be Tito’s strong side! now if Tito’s back is healed he’ll be even stronger and more explosive so that he’ll have an easier time using his wrestling, and it helps his standup too cause movement is key!..

I’d say stick to the commentating, but nothing can be worse that that.

Tito went 3 rounds with Machida and IMO beat Rashad so how can you say that he’s not legit?

I’d like to see Tito beat him once.
I’ll never understand how the judges gave Tito that fight the first time.
by KS on Jul 30, 2009 2:43 PM EDT up reply actions
Um…probably because the only thing Forrest did was get up a few times after being taken down and bitch slapped.
I always hear that Tito do enough to win it, but nobody ever says what Forrest did to deserve to win it…that’s becasue he did fuck all on offence.
by introvert on Jul 30, 2009 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions
are u kidding me? someone needs to start watching the fights and not just listen to what Joe Rogan and the super biased guest commentators they bring have to say.. the score should almost have been 30-27 although i was ok with 29-28
by RoBerto on Jul 30, 2009 2:56 PM EDT up reply actions
yep…Rogan and Bonnar were freaking out every time Forrest managed to scramble to his feet….if you watch it with no sound…it’s obvious that Tito fucked Forrest up.
Hell, that fight could have easily been stopped in the first round and nobody would have complained.
by introvert on Jul 30, 2009 2:59 PM EDT up reply actions
I thoughtthat first fight could have been a draw. Round one was an easy 10-8 for Tito, and Intro I agree it could have been stopped. The next two rounds Forrest stuffed all Tito’s TD attempts and outboxed him. I had it 28-28.
by PW on Jul 30, 2009 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions
alright, i can say that Forrest’s punches didn’t even hit Tito, he blocked almost all of them, Tito hit Forrest clean as many times and was more effective throughout the fight… getting up from being taken down scores nothing, only reason he had to get up was because he was taken down and elbowed in the face!
by RoBerto on Jul 30, 2009 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions
“Can I possibly kick him in the head, is that doable?”
That would be awesome. Just remember to keep your hands up!

I think and hope Forrest will upset Silva, he seems to be in the right mindset anyway, very calm and just taking it as another fight.

IF Griffin beats Silva it will be the biggest upset since Serra v. GSP, IMO.

by HellaHectic on Jul 30, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions
no…. he beat shogun and the judges robbed Rampage.
by SluggerCitySoldier on Jul 30, 2009 2:37 PM EDT up reply actions
Hella,
Griffin is overrated but has alot of heart and an obvious work ethic.
Do you REALLY think that if he beats Silva it won’t be a HUGE upset?
I take it that you are a diehard Griffin fan.
by OJR on Jul 30, 2009 2:40 PM EDT up reply actions
Forrest took three rounds against Rampage, no question, including one 10-8. Rampage had 25 minutes to back up all the crap he was talking about Forrest and failed miserably. His loss had nothing to do with the judges.
by PW on Jul 30, 2009 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions
no, that wasn’t 10-8 if it was then the first round was 10-8 to Rampage!.. Rampage won round 1,3,4,5
by RoBerto on Jul 30, 2009 4:42 PM EDT up reply actions
I’m not a Forrest fan by any means, anyone who saw me arguing about his win over Page for weeks/months afterward knows this. For some reason though; I want him to win this fight. Don’t hate on A. Silva but can’t help but go for the scrappy under dog in this one.

I agree with whoever posted Tito vs. Bones. And for some reason Tito vs. Matt Hammil comes to mind.
by wAyNe on Jul 30, 2009 1:38 PM EDT up reply actions
Tito and Hamill are boys, they wouldnt go at it, then again it is Tito, so I guess he would for the right price lol
by Dave on Jul 30, 2009 2:13 PM EDT up reply actions
why would he fight Hammil, what would that do for his carreer except add a win to his record?
by kevin on Jul 30, 2009 2:14 PM EDT up reply actions
Since Tito has been out of action so long he is definitely not in the title picture. He’s going to have to prove himself. Matt Hamill would be a good judge of where Tito is at. As would Bones. Maybe Rich Franklin. But I don’t think Tito deserves to fight Rich. Besides, Rich has gotten screwed enough as of late. I just don’t think Tito should get to come in and fight whoever he wants right off the bat. He should have to fight a middle of the road 205er like Hamill or an up and comer like Bones for his welcome home fight.

I got tito in a rematch, silva next week end and more thoughts on fedor!:
.
Alright guys, I’ve read every comment in the Fedor thread! I 100% guarantee you that fedor isn’t scared of anyone! You guys making those comments are just dumb! The M-1 people have confirmed the offer, they said and I quote “30 million was with projected ppv sales.” This leads me to believe that if the ppv sales were higher than projected Fedor could make more money! Introvert does make some valid points, but they get lost in his hatred of Dana White and the UFC! Fedor wants co-promotion, sambo etc. The UFC bends on all except co-promotion, but offers M-1 a piece of the ppv revenue on top of Fedor’s pay as well as allowing Fedor to promote M-1 as much as he likes. Now these are just the facts, here are my opinions:
Finklestein doesn’t want Fedor in the UFC! The UFC have bended or broke on every demand! He can promote his company and M-1 will get paid on top of Fedor’s salary. I’m in no way a Brock Lesner fan, but he seems to make his own decisions and speaks for himself! Without the UFC marketing power, no one knows who Fedor is! If he takes less money for co-promotion with strikeforce, does that make sense? No one knows who M-1 is, and no one will. They aren’t looking for co-promotion as much as their looking for financial backers so they can put on shows in other countries, that no one will ever see! I’ve weighed this in my head a lot, and I blame Fedor! He isn’t thinking for himself or doesn’t want to cross these russian mobsters, either way, it’s on him! If asked directly, Fedor could never honestly say that fighting Grim or Werdum for less money makes more sense than fighting Brock or on a lesser scale Couture!
by kevin on Jul 30, 2009 1:31 PM EDT reply actions
I completely agree Kevin. It sounds like Fedor is just a puppet and Finklefuck is the one actually pulling the strings. I’m a fan of Fedor’s but I’m on the fence as to whether he’s truly the top HW in the world. I’m not saying he’s not but until he gets in there with the UFC fighters I’m always going to be a little skeptical.
by greggo on Jul 30, 2009 1:49 PM EDT up reply actions
And it looks like Intro is wrong yet again… did we expect more?? Not really..
by O damn he got caught on Jul 30, 2009 1:49 PM EDT up reply actions
In all seriousness.
If these contract terms are in fact true, and all M-1 is looking for is a co-promotion effort for Fedor’s fights, then why can’t the UFC just throw up a "This Fight Is Presented In Cooperation With M-1 Global" screen on the television for 5 seconds before Fedor’s fight? Would that really be that much of a big deal…from a fan’s perspective?
I can understand the business side of the UFC’s stance on this…I really can. But, I’m a fight fan…not a business partner of the Fertita’s. And as a fight fan, I don’t see the big deal about flashing someone else’s name on the screen before Fedor’s fight.
I give you hardcore UFC fans props for standing up for them at every turn, but I can’t agree with you on where your allegiance lies when it comes to this stuff. Every one of us would love to see Fedor in the UFC (me, so I can watch him destroy what I think is an over-hyped, lacklustre HW division…some of you so you can watch Brock fuck Fedor up)…either way, we all want to see it happen. But why can’t we see it happen? Because the UFC doesn’t want to flash M-1 global on the television set. Once again, if I were the UFC and had a strangehold on most of the MMA fans in the world, I probably wouldn’t want to do it either….but I’m not a UFC employee. Are you guys?
In all honesty, I sometimes wonder if the Fertita’s are sending you guys royalty (or loyalty) paycheques after every UFC event or something, because you seem to always back up the business side from a business owner’s perspective, instead of looking at things from a fans perspective.
Seriously, would you guys stop watching UFC if it said "M-1″ global on the screen right after it said "Bud Light"?
As a fan, if it meant I get to see Fedor possibly armbar Brock Lesnar, I wouldn’t give two shits what flashed up on the screen while I was at the fridge getting my next beer.
JMHO

There’s the business side….Dana is highly compromising
There’s the MMA fan side….We want to see it, period!
There’s the average fan side….Don’t care
Then, there’s the general justice side….If you’re Dana, how far down do you bow before the bullshit of the situation outweighs your personal desire to see the fight or please the hardcore fans?
It would leave me angry and I would systematicaly make sure M-1 Global goes under.

What you’re describing, Intro, is a sponsorship deal (publicity for a product in exchange for something of value, usually money but in this case use of a fighter), not a co-promotion that M-1 wants. It sounds like, and I could be wrong, that M-1 wants to get their grubby little hands into the production, planning, etc., even though, as Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, pointed out, they have no clue how to do any of this, nor have they shown a willingness to learn.
M-1 has only one asset: Fedor Emilianenko. And possibly a holocaust cloak and a wheelbarrow. Yet M-1 seems to expect Dana White to hand them the moon on a silver platter.
by PW on Jul 30, 2009 3:58 PM EDT up reply actions
why didn’t you list those among our assets earlier? Classic PW

Speculation at best.
by introvert on Jul 30, 2009 4:49 PM EDT up reply actions
Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m not, but that’s what co-promotion means. Unless M-1 just wants UFC to do all the work while M-1 collects half the money.

Good post Kev, I also got Tito in a rematch. I’m a big Tito fan so I have him beating everyone, lol. AND FEDOR IS NOT AFRAID OF THE UFC HW DIVISION!!! I can’t believe people think he is afraid of brock! That’s some funny shit! It’s annoying how if a fighter doesn’t fight or sign with an orginization, they must be scared! WHATEVER

by kevin on Jul 30, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions
I don’t think Fedor is afraid of the UFC’s HW fighters – I think it’s M-1 who’s afraid. That’s why they’re trying to pull all this long-term cross-promotional stuff. It’s not just with the UFC; this is their demand with Strikeforce as well. It’s their sticking point because they KNOW that that nobody gives a sh!t about M-1 except for the fact that they apparently own Fedor, body and soul. So if their greatest (and basically only) asset goes to the UFC or Strikeforce, and is subsequently destroyed by Lesnar or whomever in his first fight, the whole Fedor mystique is shattered – and there goes M-1’s meal ticket. It’s a gamble that they’re currently not willing to make, because when it comes down to it, anyone can be beaten at any time. We’ve seen that some guys have had serious problems adjusting to the cage, and if that were to happen to Fedor, and he were to go down in flames like Cro-Cop did (whose entire mystique was demolished upon stepping into the cage), then where does that leave M-1 in 2 years?

That would be a wickedly different fight.

different? in what way? if u mean that Tito would dominate and finish him inside 2 rounds than yes..
by RoBerto on Jul 30, 2009 1:56 PM EDT up reply actions
LOL… not what I meant but I found it funny.
I think the world see’s Tito a lot differntly than I do. And thats fine. Tito doesn’t like to get hit, he gets all “tight” in the shoulders defending ( I use his basketball routine to train my brain to keep my hands up). I don’t suppose not liking getting hit isn’t a bad strategy but I feel like it steals his focus until the end of the round
I think Wand is much better and Tito is the same.
I see the fight going down with Wand taking the stoppage
by Big Zino on Jul 30, 2009 2:06 PM EDT up reply actions
I think Wand would knock his head off this time around.
by O damn he got caught on Jul 30, 2009 2:11 PM EDT up reply actions
oh please, Wand’s head has been knocked more times than my door… how is that gonna make him better? Wand has become less of a fighter if anything, and he dropped down cause he was too small for LHW!..
Chuck could take him down at will and Tito would do just the same
by RoBerto on Jul 30, 2009 2:40 PM EDT up reply actions
no disrespect and no nothing, but that’s how it would go down..

by O damn he got caught on Jul 30, 2009 4:43 PM EDT up reply actions
Managers should just be there for the fighter not to get f*cked in the contract. The fighter should make his own decision where he wants to fight. And its the managers job to get him there. So this is all on Fedor! I dont think Cocker will have the money to pay Fedor. And why would Strikeforce want him to smash Grim/Werdum and leave their HW division even weaker? I would love to see him in the UFC, but could care less if I never do. Ive never been a fan anyway.

Tito/forrest 2 would be more marketable so that would probably happen
by Pretty Boy on Jul 30, 2009 1:32 PM EDT reply actions
Not that they’d be an exciting matchup. Well you never know. But more to see where Tito is at. I think Hammil is a great fighter but just not elite status. If Tito can get past the Hammer he should be able to swim with the big fishies again. If not, he should go fight in Strikeforce and hold the belt there.

That interview is why I’m such a fan of Forrest. He’ll say the most ridiculous shit and somehow not look stupid doing it. Oh, and I guess I like the fact that he seems to fight with more heart and willpower than actual skill. I’m not saying he has no skills by any means, but I don’t consider him near as technical as Silva, Machida, etc. And what the fuck is he talking about drinking Machida’s magic pee?
by greggo on Jul 30, 2009 1:37 PM EDT reply actions
Machida drinks a glass of his own urine daily; claims that it has some type of nutritional value.
by O damn he got caught on Jul 30, 2009 2:03 PM EDT up reply actions
I’m pulling for Forrest big time but his lack of knockout power scares me. Silva has so many ways to finish a fight. And since Forrest won’t let the fight turn into a joke like Silva’s last two fights we know there’s going to be lots of aggression. The kick to the head sounds like his best option for a knockout, but I wouldn’t predict the fight turning out that way.
