Ricardo is a good guy. I’d like to see him pull off the easy win. I think his Jits should get him the sub.
Haven’t heard much about him since the Cote lose.

Been trying to find out whats going on during Fedor’s press conference. I was able to find this via mmafanhouse. Here is a copy/paste:
M-1 Global says it plans to increase the number of MMA shows it promotes. Do they think they can compete with the UFC? about a minute ago
Asked about Affliction, M-1 officials say “That’s a great question for the right time. This isn’t the right time to talk about Affliction.” 3 minutes ago
Jerry Millen: Fedor is the best fighter in MMA, deserves to be treated as such. Suggests UFC wouldn’t treat him as such. http://bit.ly/sffSQ 3 minutes ago
M-1 stresses it has promoted MMA all over the world. Fedor, as the face of M-1, should fight in UFC under the M-1 banner http://bit.ly/sffSQ 6 minutes ago
M-1 stresses that to do a deal with UFC, they want co-promotion. They think it’s important for MMA to have competition, not UFC dominance. 7 minutes ago
Fedor Emelianenko is asked if he has talked to Strikeforce. M-1 says they’ve had negotiations with lots of companies and Strikeforce is one. 10 minutes ago
M-1 says they offered to have a co-promotion for Fedor to fight in the UFC. We already knew that. 13 minutes ago
I just asked Fedor Emelianenko if he will meet Dana White while he’s in the U.S. He was noncommittal in his answer. 16 minutes ago
M-1 says re Affliction: “we will do everything to protect our rights in the courts of the United States.” 17 minutes ago
They have confirmed Fedor is negotiating with the UFC, but they clearly want to make this call about the EA MMA game, not the UFC 20 minutes ago
M-1 says “we’re weighing all our options” in how to deal with Affliction canceling Fedor’s MMA fight. 21 minutes ago
Fedor says it’s an honor to be part of a video game. No mention of the fact that the UFC has a competing game and a bad relationship with EA 22 minutes ago
Fedor Emelianenko will headline the EA Sports MMA game. Gegard Mousasi and Babalu Sobral will also be part of the game. 24 minutes ago
Millen: Fedor Emelianenko was ready to fight this weekend, but unfortunately we’re here addressing questions and rumors. http://bit.ly/sffSQ 26 minutes ago
Fedor call has begun, with Jerry Millen speaking first http://bit.ly/sffSQ 30 minutes ago

Good find VM. Kind of confirms our fears of M-1 only settling for co-promotion. Not unexpected though. Keep on with updates man.

Good find indeed man. Yea i have 0 hopes for any of this. Like i said until the fink gets hit by a bus or Fedor finds out that he’s been Don King’d, it’s gonna be the same fn story.

not sure about big dog in this one, im hoping for a sub but i think kendall might take this by tko
by jared on Jul 29, 2009 2:14 PM EDT reply actions
Nah no way; Big Dog all the way! Kendall won’t be able to take him out; hopefully we get to see a slick sub from Almeida this time around.

I dont see it O damn. I think Kendall beats up Almeida in the clinch. Knees and elbows all night for him. Kendall FTW.
by Synyster on Jul 29, 2009 2:30 PM EDT up reply actions
I agree. Almeida has sick jits, but hasn’t impressed otherwise. Kendall by TKO.
by LJ on Jul 29, 2009 4:04 PM EDT up reply actions
Grappler vs. Striker! Simple as that! Whoever takes the fight into their world wins. THe only prediction that matters is:
DO YOU THINK ALMEIDA CAN GET THE FIGHT TO THE GROUND?
THats the only question surrounding this fight! Answer that question, and you got your winner!
by Jizz dollar on Jul 29, 2009 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions
i highly doubt kendall is going to even try for a takedown….he has an advantage on the feet and why would he even try to take him down
by JG on Jul 29, 2009 2:51 PM EDT up reply actions
“take him out” not “take him down” lol. Almeida will end up pulling guard to get the fight to the ground, then work subs off his back. Kendall isn’t that great, and he’s a 50/50 fighter, sometimes he shows up and sometimes the lights are on and no ones home. Almeida all the way.

wow i need to read everything twice before i reply to it lol

I hope Ricardo subs Kendall, I can’t stand him. News flash douche: YOU ARE NOT TITO!
by allamerican on Jul 29, 2009 3:41 PM EDT up reply actions
if ricardo can drop down to 170 the right way you’re going to see a new contender at that weight class, he has all the skills on the ground and if he can improve his cardio im predicting it now…Ricardo Almeda, future WW champ!
by bobby o'shea on Jul 29, 2009 2:27 PM EDT reply actions
Is GSP, Fitch, Alves, Kos, and Swick all going to be retired by then? Almeida, while good won’t beat any of these guys, ever!
by jay on Jul 29, 2009 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions
nobody at ww has his bjj skills, with the weight cut and strength i think he can take the fite to anyone at 170
by bobby o'shea on Jul 29, 2009 5:03 PM EDT up reply actions
This dude had a sh*tload of buzz coming back and then, nothing. I am still looking forward to this fight. Kendall by TKO.
How is he supposed to make 170 if he barely made 185? How sick was he before?
by BNF on Jul 29, 2009 2:27 PM EDT reply actions
Is this at 170? I haven’t heard or checked… really?
I thought Da Spida was 185 and so is Rico
by Big Zino on Jul 29, 2009 2:36 PM EDT up reply actions
No this is 185, but Ricardo has talked about and wants to move down to 170. It seems like that will be a tough cut for him from the sounds of things.
Kendall @ 170 = the Corey Hill of the WW
by BNF on Jul 29, 2009 2:43 PM EDT up reply actions
I think Almeida’s a bit small for 185, if I remember right he’s walking around regularly at 195 if that; I don’t think 170 would be that killer for him.
by O damn he got caught on Jul 29, 2009 2:46 PM EDT up reply actions
You may be right, I am just judging by what he said in the video.
by BNF on Jul 29, 2009 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions
Almeida’s gonna fuck Grove up.
Any word from Fedor yet? When’s the presser?
by introvert on Jul 29, 2009 2:34 PM EDT reply actions
I like wen Riggs ko’d Grove!! then when they were walking him out
he hit his head on the top of the cage lol X)
by d*locc on Jul 29, 2009 2:50 PM EDT reply actions
off topic. Why does Bodog.com already have the odds out for a Lesnar vs Fedor?
by ppwwpp on Jul 29, 2009 2:56 PM EDT reply actions
They have had it before Barnett even got suspended. Since then, BetUs has it up as well.
BoDog has the fight in like November 2010 if I remember correctly, where/how/why they got that date = lOL
by ViolentMike on Jul 29, 2009 3:05 PM EDT up reply actions
I think this has potential for awesome fight
Kendall always brings it, since his last fight he looked sick, and ricky wants to bounce back
Can’t miss this gonna be a war
by phenomenal angel on Jul 29, 2009 2:57 PM EDT reply actions
Hope your right. The last fight I saw Grove was against Tanner (RIP) but I was anything but impressed.
He acts all gangsta but seems to get big time nerves on the walk to the cage. I think Ricardo will end up finishing via arm triangle or anaconda choke. IMO they will scramble a lot and eventually Kendall will leave something for Big Dog to grab and squeeze the life out of.
Kendal rolls his hips decently. I just see a finish like
Big Nog and Sylvia.

U didn’t see his fight against jason day?
He destroyed him in a sick fashion.
by phenomenal angel on Jul 29, 2009 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions
Grove is WAY under-rated. He destroyed alan belcher, evan tanner, jason day.
by Pretty Boy on Jul 29, 2009 9:29 PM EDT reply actions
No he’s not. Just look at his losses and you’ll see that he has been KTFO several times. His only wins are from style match-ups not skill.
