George Sotiropoulos: 'Nothing personal' against George Roop at UFC 101

Props: MMAWeekly
Quoteworthy:
"It’s the nature of the sport right now, and where I’m training. I don’t think of my opponents as enemies, like I hate the guy. He’s my opponent, he’s my adversary… it’s nothing personal. He obviously favors striking as his strength, but I think he’s a well-rounded striker. He strikes standing, he likes ground and pound, he strikes from his back. He’s definitely a challenge."
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 6 contestant George Sotiropoulos knows that fighting fellow Extreme Couture disciple George Roop -- who is a last minute replacement for the injured Rob Emerson -- is part of the business and one of the scenarios he expected to eventually take place by moving from Matt Serra's camp in New York to Las Vegas, the fighting capital of the world. The Aussie has been plagued with injuries recently, which have kept him out of action since a dominating technical knockout win over fellow TUF contestant Roman Mitichyan at UFC Fight Night 13. Roop will no doubt be looking to spoil his return when they hook 'em up on the undercard of UFC 101 from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pa., on August 8. Who ya' got?

Roop is a horrible fighter. The only person he’s beaten is Kaplan and that is not an accomplishment. I could beat Kaplan and I’m practically a 12 year old girl.

I think George could look really good at 155. This shouldn’t be much of a test for him though.

Because he got knocked out it means he’s not that good? He was a early favorite on the show to win, he got knocked out by a strong Tommy Speer. Roop doesn’t have a quarter of the strength Speer had.
I got the Aussie by rd 1 murder.

Damn, I was looking forward to seeing Sotiropoulis put Tha OG From Tha OC in a good, tight chokehold. Oh well, props to George and George for fighting each other even though they are in the same camp for the time being. Take note of this, AKA.

Does anyone really even care about anything that guy says? When was the last time he even fought?
