There is a really good Brock interview on BE conducted by a UK station. brocks really humble, down to earth. He comes off really well. Interestingly, Brock Video taped his entire training camp, for this historic event so later on in life he can show his kids….I would LOVE to get my hands on his entire training camp footage

Benkie is his cardio and strenght/conditioning guy. He had kind of a fallout with ATT leader Liborio so he works by himself but all the ATT guys still go to him. He’s very good.

I like Alves. He respects GSP and seems like a pretty nice guy. I want GSP to win though because I want him to dominate the division, but I like Alves and hope he does well and hopefully he rematches Fitch and avenges his loss.

It is going to be interesting to see if alves has woked his ground game or just worked his takedown defense. He is going to get taken down so we will see if he is a complete fightter. If he is then I will be impressed. I think GSP by Submission in the 4th.

Totally pumped for this fight. Either GSP gets KO’d or we see him fulfilling his destiny and destroying Alves over 4 or 5 rounds, which in turn means the WW division is cleaned out. The end result of this fight is either people saying GSP got KO’d by a great, new champ or that GSP is the greatest WW of all time and likely the P4P best MMA fighter on the planet. I don’t see an in between; Alves wins by KO or is completely destroyed. I don’t know why, but my gut tells me that GSP is going to give a performance that has the last of his few critics humbly and finally admitting to his greatness as a fighter.

I know a lot has changed since then but lets not forget that Alves lost to Fitch who in turn was totally dismantled by GSP. That fight wasn’t even close and Fitch was considered “the toughest test of GSP’s career to that point”…..sound familiar? And yeah Alves has done some damage in the division since then but what has he done that GSP didn’t do before him? Beat hughes?? check….GSP did that twice, beat Parysian ….. check….. beat Kos, check. Also we should listen closely to Alves and followers talk about the Kos fight. They say he was the best wrestler in the UFC and he couldn’t take Alves down. Lets remember that not only could Kos not take GSP down but GSP took Kos down at will. My point?? Alves has yet to face the best wrestler (for MMA) the UFC has to offer.
I loves Alves and think he is a talented exciting fighter but at the end of the day there is nothing you can point to that he has done that GSP hasn’t already done…..and done better. Alves has a punchers chance Saturday but thats about it, GSP is simply in another league.

Alves is gonna stop gsp early. the important info from the blog is that thiago is in great shape and had no trouble making weight at all. he is gonna be atleast 20lbs bigger. too strong for that weight class
