There it is.
Mir seems so calm for the smashing he’s about to receive. I guess you have to try to be confident to win. The more confident fighter almost always wins. Both Brock and Mir both seem confident going in to it. Should be interesting.

NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING MIR SAYS PRE-FIGHT
He believes that the psychological crap before the fight is very important. He will say something very different post-fight. He does a great job of controlling his emotions on the outside. That doesn’t mean that he’s not shitting his pants on the inside.

Wow, that chick didn’t get hired as eye candy. And how smug did Mir look when she asked him how he was going to win?

I’d rather watch someone like her do interviews with ufc fighters than some of those other dim-wits that don’t know what they’re talking about.

She has bigger arms than Mir, maybe even broader shoulders. She’s blown up over the years big time!

The ONLY that caught my eye in this video is watching Brock smash Herring in the face and making him do a complete backwards summersault. Other than that its just blah blah blah, I have experience, yada yada yada, his big biceps won’t help him, ect…

To his credit, Mir looks certain that he will beat Lensar. I like his confidence going in there against a silverback like Brock.
A good portion of how this goes will come down to Mir’s stand-up. Obviously, it has improved. It used to be a joke, but after the Nog fight it appears that Mir thinks he’s got the advantage there. He may, as far as movement goes and range of strikes go, but with Brock it’s just a matter of time before his power makes the difference.
Frank needs to execute a very smart fight. Lesnar may try to keep it standing (good idea) for an extended stretch until he can do some damage. Time to see just how good Mir has gotten on his feet. If Mir can land some good shots, Lesnar will automatically go into wrestling mode. As it stands, it’s going to very hard for Lesnar to control the impulse to take Mir down.
On the ground, as long as he’s not hurt, Mir is going to be dangerous for the whole fight. Lesnar’s sub defense has undoubtedly improved, but Mir is one of the two best HW sub artist’s in the world. He’s got some tricks Lesnar has not prepared for, I’m sure.
This is one of the harder fights in memory to call. I’ve got Mir by sub in the first two rounds, But it is not difficult to picture Brock landing a shot and getting a quick TKO— no early stoppage please! I would prefer Mir to win, but if Brock does take it (what the UFC wants) it sets up some great title bouts— Carwin, perhaps Nog if he beats Randy, and then FEDOR, baby, or at least that’s what everyone will wanna see.

Good synopsis revjames. I completely agree. Both guys seem super confident. However this thing plays out, it’s going to be amazing. I hope like you that there is a definitive ending to the fight. Hard to call, but I’m putting money on Lesnar.

I really don’t think this fight goes to the ground at all. Brock is a vastly superior wrestler, which means he gets to decide where the fight takes place, and I don’t think he takes a chance on stepping into another leg lock.

Mir and his zero wrestling background getting a takedown on an All-America wrestler would definitely qualify as anything.

I don’t think this is a hard fight to call in the least. Lesnar steamrolls him early.

Mir looks like he’s either been getting stoned, training too hard, or had some sleepless nights lately…my guess is the nerves are starting to get to him.

I don’t find big arm’s on lady reporters that intimidating, but when they have a big fat ass and big legs it’s much more imposing because that means they have a low center of gravity and they can smother you into their crotch.

So how do the odds work?
Frank Mir is -190.
If I put $50 on him, and he wins, what is the payout?
Thanks. First time better. Gotta to root for Frank.
I made a resolution, if he wins, I’m going to start training MMA.
by nobody on Jul 9, 2009 4:39 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Mir is +190, not -190. Lines are based on a $100 bet, so a $100 bet on Mir would bring a return of $190, or a $50 bet returns $95.

There is like a 10% chance you might be training after sat night. lol
