Dan is a great scrambler but in a scramble situation I think Mike is going to come out on top every time. [Bisping] is fighting a guy that I have competed against, in the sense that Rampage fought him before. What I have done is basically helped him complete his strategy for the fight. Wrestling-wise I am probably one of the best MMA-wrestling trainers in the world at the moment. There is no doubt in my mind that he will end this fight before the third round."

I havr predicted Bisping to win this fight, but in no way do I predict him to beat Hendo via wrestling. THat comment is Absurd!
Not to many fighters that Hendo will face will be able to out wrestle him. TO out wrestle Hendo not only do you need to be a very good wrestler…you also have to have a significant power advantage over Hendo, like Rampage did. Its simple as that….He will out wrestle anyone that has the same strength as him or is weaker. p4p he is one of the best wrestlers to ever put on a pair of mma gloves!
I dont think Bisping will be able to take Hendo down, then again I dont even think he will try. tHis quote is just nonsense! HOwever, I dont see Bisping spending too much time on his back in this fight. I think he will use crisp striking, his speed advantage and superior footwork to keep Hendo at a distance…and If he does get taken down, Im fairly sure that Hendo wont be able to keep Bisping down for very long. some fighters just have a knack for standing up when they get taken down, a la chuck Liddell and Bispisng is one of those guys.
Should be a great fight, and it sickens me to hear IDIOTS bashing Bisping for his fight/strategy against Leben. YOu guys bash this guy for aNTHING…might as well start bashing him for the way he breathes or something absurd like that. What the hell was wrong with the leben fight? He fought Leben as smart as anyone could possibly fight. He completely picked him apart andf did a terrific job of not allowing Leben to land punches. in my eyes that was a masterful and dominant performance against a very dangerous brawler who came into that fight in clearly the best shape of his life, roids and all, and Bisping was still Dominant!

Kongo’s ground game as a whole is terrible. Did anyone else cringe every time Cain had Kongo in side control, and he never once tried to lift a knee or do anything to prevent Cain from gaining full mount. That is like first day bjj.

I coouldn’t agree more on the Leben fight. People just seem to want to bash bisping for the sake of it.
Leben is a dangerous fighter for anyone who has never like you say been in the shape that he was in.
Bisping completely controlled that fight and mashed up Lebens face like he had put it through a meat grinder.
To suggest that he could out wrestle Hendo is laughable BUT he may be able to pop back up like he did against Hamill and Rashad if Hendo takes him to the ground.
I honestly believe that Bisping is going to expose Hendo as over the hill and flat footed in this fight. No KO or finish but a clear cut decision win for the count.

Over the hill is a bit harsh. Whether you think Hendo won or lost the Franklin fight, he still made it to a split decision with a quality fighter. He’s still top ten whether he loses to Bisping or not. My money’s on Bisping, but make no mistake about it, Hendo’s still a great fighter.

Fact of the matter is NICK J is completely right. Hendo is over the hill! is he still a top fighter? ABSOLUTELY! But Hendo is far from the mean and aggressive SOB that used to punch peoples heads off in Pride. While Hendo is on the decline, Bisping gets better every day… Nick brought up a great point that I really agree with. Bisping will use crisp, and fast striking and supperior footwork to keep Hendo at a distance, pick him apart and expose him as the old flat footed fighter that he is!
I had to literally spend years defending Machida and his style when all the idiots called him boring and over rated…NOw this entire site swings from his nuts, but 90% of the new machida slurpers, Bash Bisping for fighting the same exact way that Machida fights….Get a clue and start recognizing Bisping as a top fighter. i honetsly believe that Bisping has a great shot TODAY of beating any Middleweight in the UFC with the exception of Anderson.
Bisping doesnt get enough credit for:
-Being such a good athlete
-His HUGE size as a middleweight
-His GRANITE CHIN: Mark Epstein hits as hard as anyone…go ask him about Bisping’s chin
-Being a very intelligent fighter who follows gameplans perfectly.
-Speed, cris striking, and footwork
-very under rated wrestling. He has faced supperior wretslers like Hammil and Rashad, who all had the weight and power advantage, along with wrestling skills advantage over Bisping, yet NONE of them could keep him down or do anything to him on the ground!
Bisping is NO JOKE!!! Like it or not, he will be a top 10 middleweight for a long time.
He is going to dominate Hendo en route to a decision win, the same way he beat Leben, and you guys will all bash him for it, while I sit back, collect $300 on a $100 bet, and enjoy watching his masterful performance!

John, I don’t know whether it’s because of his attitude or the fact that he’s English but lots of people hate Michael Bisping. Some of the comments against him baffle me, I don’t know how you can criticise him for beating Leben, he dominated that fight and used a smart strategy, unless you are Anderson Silva then you are not going to KO Leben. He’e even bashed for his entrance music, the guy can’t catch a break.
I have Bisping winning this fight by decision, no way does this fight end in a stoppage either Hendo will outwrestle Bisping for the first two rounds before tiring like in the Franklin fight or Bisping will outbox Hendo and keep the fight standing, punching and moving like in the Leben fight. Bisping certainly won’t outwrestle Hendo but he has a good chance at keeping this on the feet and even if he is taken down, he never stays on his back for long. Bring on Andy-Bisping at the MEN.

Why is Bisping a bitch for being smart and technical in his fight with Leban a guy who everybody knows is difficult to knockout, using striking and footwork not to get hit but at the same time still delivering punches to Leban, but Cain Velasquez doesn’t get called a bitch for taking the fight to the ground and trying to keep Kongo on the ground everytime Kongo connected with a punch, at least standing up your opponent still has a chance to fight back not that is not the case with Cains man on man style. It seems like its one rule for wrestlers and a different rule for everybody else. How can you criticise Bisping or even someone like Machida (befeore half of you became overnight fans) for fighting in such a way that makes sure they do not get KTFO, but if a wrestler tries to stop himself from getting KTFO but taking someone down and keeping them there, you do not have any problem with it at all.

I haven’t been watching Rome, ATH and PTI as much as usual because its only baseball season. But with the NBA draft, I did watch yesterday and happened to catch that Hendo is going to be on Rome as the in studio guest for today. I wrote a giant note next to the tv reminding me so I don’t delete it tomorrow if I don’t get to watchin it after work today. However, I’m pretty sure I’ll be watching it at 5:15

Exactly, wrestling is the area where Hendo has the massive advantage. I’m worried about Bisping’s chances if this idiot coach has talked him into making this a wrestling match, Hendo would crush him. In the stand-up Hendo hasn’t done anything in the UFC and whilst he has power Bisping has technique, but Hendo is still a quality wrestler so trying to outwrestle him is a horrible strategy. I hope this is just mind games.
This Light guy is really arrogant, anyone who trains Cheick Kongo in wrestling has a cheek to call himself the best wrestling trainer in the world. Bisping has much better TDD than Kongo but it is still a weakness that Hendo will look to exploit so I hope this guy has spent a lot of time working on it with Bisping or else he’ll lose this fight.

bisping’s takedown defense did seem somewhat improved between the hammill and rashad fight…rashad still slammed him several times but he stuffed at least 6 or 7 good attempts mostly in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and up until that time no one had ever done that..go back and rewatch that fight and you’ll see what im saying…the guy definantly improved his defense…

How is Bizzzzbing going to finish this before the third round??? He has zero KO power and Hendo has a granite jaw. He has zero ground game or submissions. in order for the ufc’s promotion team to find highlights of hendo’s fights to build up his upcoming fights they still use pride highlights…cause hes done absolutely nothing in the ufc in his return to warrant a highlight montage…
the most exciting piece of footage from any dan henderson fight in the ufc is him getting choked out by anderson…and thats even going all the way back to ufc 17…

That’s coz he’s been in there with 10 times better fighters than Bizzzzbing has. Bizzzzy’s only fought one guy in the top 20 of any division (rashad) and got beat! Hendo’s been in with about 25 top 10 opponents, he’s fought a who’s who of MMA!
