166 is a good thing a month out. He cold cut to 155 now if he wanted to.

Doesn’t matter though. Florini has been working at Globogym.

haha, florini- god i hate that douchebag fake doctor. But in a serious matter, anyone know why BJ has developed this sudden weird relationship with those maronovich’s?

such a riveting vlog that was…

U guys are ridiculous! Because of a few words that came out of his mouth after being dOMINATED by the best fighter in a weight class he has clearly no business fighting in, all of the sudden he is been written off by about 85% of this site! GET A CLUE!!!

The stupidest things could come out of his mouth and it would never take away the fact that he is one of the best fighters that the sport has ever seen. If mma ended tODAY, History would probably say that Penn and Gomi were the best LW champs of all time, and Penn DOMINATED my boy gOmi.

U guys try to act like Penn is done because of what happened with GSP…I think its the complete opposite. Had Penn walked through GSP, he would have definitely taken Ken Flow lightly and could have been suspect to being upset by Ken flow….After being embarressed by GSP, I belive bj will be more focused then ever when he faces Kenny. I have a feeling that he will see a vscious BJ Penn simply outclass Kenny Florian! He is only baout 11 lbs away from his weigh in weight, and its still over 5 weeks away. That tells me that BJ Penn has been busting his ass, and doing all the things required to be in top form when he fights Kenny….and FACT are that if BJ is in top form, there isnt a lightweight on earth that will beat him.

I pray that all you fools who have written BJ off as a fighter because of the things that come out of his mouth, have the balls to back up your ridiculous statements. all you Haters should go bet your money on Ken Flow…that way I get better odds on BJ, and I can laugh all the way to the bank!

by JOhn G on Jun 25, 2009 8:30 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

you can rationalize all u want why bj will win, but its not happening. one of the most important things a fighter needs is cardio, bj has none, because he has the worst work ethic, in mma. HE IS NOT MOTIVATED, nor dedicated to being the best, that spells trouble. while fighters like gsp , and florian have improved tremendiously, bj has stood still. it was embarrassing to see how much better GSP had gotten than bj last fight he had, and i think we are going to find out kenny has also passed him by. while bj is whining, making excuses, having his mommy fight his battles, and taking vacations in the middle of training camps, kenny is training like a madman. it doesnt help also that bj, has the worst mma camp around, with no one to help him get better, and more well rounded. You heard it here first, bj will retire after kenny dominates him. Im sure bj, and his fans will have excuses at hand.

Hmm, BJ Penn with a mustache is new.. this is certainly different and I think just about everyone would agree that facial hair gives you more strength and manliness. Kenny’s in trouble here folks.

BJ PENN’S NEW Mustache FTW!!

by O damn he got caught on Jun 24, 2009 5:35 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Dawm maybe he can drop to to 145 and get that belt cause 170 is never gonna happen the guys are too huge like Fitch, GSP, Alves

Phil… what are you talkin about here..??

by O damn he got caught on Jun 24, 2009 6:00 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I was just saying maybe he could make 145 and have his dream at having 2 belts instead of trying to go up in weight shouldnt be too hard mike brown says he walks around 165lbs

by Nor-Cal Mexican (formely phlicutioner) on Jun 24, 2009 6:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Lol, that’d be like Brock Lesnar coming down to take the belt from Machida, not fair.

by O damn he got caught on Jun 24, 2009 7:15 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Except Brock would have to cut a leg to get to 205. I also believe that BJ Penn can get to 145 w/o doing something crazy, if he really put his heart and mind into it.

by Pat on Jun 24, 2009 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

thats funny bj has no heart, well not since gsp ripped it out anyway. mwahahaha

lol nice!!

by Nor-Cal Mexican (formely phlicutioner) on Jun 24, 2009 8:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

bj is too lazy to drop to 145.

by ryan on Jun 24, 2009 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If BJ trained hard and ate right than he would be at 145! a guy like Diego Sanchez is as ripped as he can be at 155 and he is much bigger, faster and more explosive than BJ is, all in all a much better athlete!

by RoB on Jun 24, 2009 9:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

being ripped is a good look and does show some prof of a fighter’s condition but genes and the type of training also play a key role. I might add a ripped fighter vs a soft fighter has no indication of an outcome = Fedor vs Coleman= or Fedor vs AA = or for that matter Penn vs Sherk = case closed

I hope he gets humiliated by Florini.

I wonder if Florian can handle BJ strength wise? It isn’t like Florian is a powerhouse or anything.

Nobody knows who is going to take this fight. All I know is that it is going to be great.

I hope BJ sports a fu man chu goatee too. That would be baddass!

by DubNub on Jun 24, 2009 5:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If florian was able handle Shrek’s power he can handle BJ’s because when he fought shrek, Shrek was on the jucie big time
I say Florian by spilt des..

by day1er on Jun 24, 2009 6:41 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

bj penn is no body builder either dub… didnt u see that video of him benching 145 and about to die? not to mention he has no endurance, so even if he does have some strength, it wont last long… this fight has upset written all over it

by brendan on Jun 24, 2009 6:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

So what…hughes can bench probably 400 but couldn’t take penn down

by ja434650 on Jun 25, 2009 6:33 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

What do you mean “handle Shrek’s power”?

Is getting dominated and dry humped around the ring for 5 rounds is ‘handling’ his power?

Florian has never really been strong or a great athlete. He has very solid technique and hopefully thats enough to allow him to survive a bit in this fight.

by Brandon on Jun 24, 2009 7:14 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He didn’t handle Shrek’s (lol) power. He got taken down at will. Outside of a few illegal hellbows he was dominated.

by halljam2 on Jun 24, 2009 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Florian By murder! No It should be a good fight. I do think Kenny will take this one though.

by Yourmomma on Jun 24, 2009 5:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Florini will get smashed!!!
actaully I think this is gonna be a war and both have a good chance of ending the fight BJ is almost unstopable at lightweight and Kenny has improved tremondously I think it could go either way.
War BJ!!!!!!!!!

i’m curious to see if bj still has it in him to beat a top guy like florian. should be a great fight. let’s hope bj is training hard and not taking any vacations..

by lefthook187 on Jun 24, 2009 6:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Obviously he’s training hard if the weight is coming off quickly.

yay Adam G is back. I’m taking Florini so it’s on. Although, not really b/c I don’t have a fraction of the faith in this one that I did in GSP. I could see it go either way, so I’m bettin the underdog.

sounds like he’s afraid he’s over-training, he better take a 3 week vacation to make sure he peaks at the right time

by George on Jun 24, 2009 7:12 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah right, more like I’m too lazy to train as hard as everyone else who is a professional fighter. What a spoiled brat!

by Rich on Jun 24, 2009 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

A spoiled brat? With cauli ear like his? He’s earned his time in the gym, on the mat, and in the cage. Couture and BJ are the only fighters to hold titles in 2 diff weight classes. If I could accomplish half of what Penn has done in his fight/BJJ career…I’d be stoked.

You’ll hear a million arm chair fighters calling BJ Penn fat, lazy, a brat – but I’m sure you wouldn’t hear many UFC fighters agreeing with them.

by TabascoSAUCE on Jun 24, 2009 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sean Sherk would :)

by SoCalStunNa on Jun 24, 2009 9:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

St-Pierre would too if he wasn’t such a class act

remember the build up to St-Pierre vs Penn 2? BJ was getting upset cuz his training looked like crap next to GSP

by Jerrold on Jun 24, 2009 7:49 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Doubt it dude- BJ is so overrated. I could totally see Florian beating him. Everybody is improving their game but BJ. Especially in the cardio and heart dept.

by Wes on Jun 24, 2009 8:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol, GSP dominates BJ by weighing 20 lbs more and just being a stronger fighter. Now every thinks BJ isn’t any good?

wow. This fight will surprise a lot of people. Bj will be ready.

by Bennie Blanco on Jun 24, 2009 8:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

there is no fighter that thinks BJ is overrated. if u go to ufc.com there are a few fighers in their bio call BJ their idol.

by oldskooljjsu on Jun 24, 2009 9:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

that is exactly why ppl are having a hard time seeing it, BJ is too many guys idol…

by RoB on Jun 24, 2009 10:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Has everyone forgotten that BJ Penn fought Lyoto Machida a few years back and took him to a decision? Or that Randy Couture couldn’t keep BJ down and said that BJ hits like a heavy weight? Or that he’s the most decorated american BJJ artist ever? Or that. . . yeah, saying that BJ is overrated shows how much you know about MMA. . .not much.

by haglnuts on Jun 24, 2009 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

machida, wasnt machida back then, that was only his 4th fight ever, machida nowadays would murder bj, wouldnt go past the first.I heard the same shit before the gsp fight, that even randy coture has a hard time taking down bj.well folks gsp is not randy coture he is much more explosive, and better wrestler, he took bj down at will. he even said he could have done it rihgt aqay first round, but his plan was to clinch and tire bjs arms by making bj push him away, but evryone that saw the fight knows it was like a man against a little kid, bj looked helpless and pathetic. watch for kenny to pick bj apart with his better allaround standup, and greater reach, and keep bj guessing with takedowns. gsp will be working with florian, and im sure he will come up with a good plan for kenny to smash bj once and for all, and retire his rich pampered loser, no dedication, or heart, ass. kenny will be very strong and his wrestling will be vastly improved.this will be bjs last fight, and he retires in shame

by dtoto on Jun 25, 2009 12:41 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’m sorry but GSP is not a better wrestler than Randy, that’s almost laughable. Brock had a hard time taking Randy down, and he outweighs him by 40 pounds. Oh and Randy was an alternate on the U.S. olympic team and trained the US Army in wrestling for years. The dude can flat out wrestle.

by Parks on Jun 25, 2009 2:16 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

GSP trains against hw olympic multinationals,at a body weight of 180 lbs and holds his own, those wrestlers would crush randy. randy was an olympian but that was decades ago. GSP has a much more explosive takedowns, he can take bj down at will, yet randy at a body weight of 40 lbs more has a hard time doing it, and you are silly enough to think randy is a better wrestler. Randy coture is 46 yrs old. Hendo was an olympian also, but that doesnt mean he is the best wrestler as a LHW, even rampage with only high school wrestling, outwrestled him. yes gsp has by far the best wrestling

by dtoto on Jun 25, 2009 9:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I disagree, you forgot to mention Tito, who got outwrestled in his prime by Randy And Mike Van Arsdale who is considered by many the best wrestler in mma, got gator rolled by Randy. The fact that he did most of this in his 40’s is why he is better.

by Parks on Jun 25, 2009 7:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

BJ’s natural talent against Kenny’s technical abilities. Will be a fun fight to watch no matter what.

by neeko on Jun 25, 2009 8:54 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I was suprised at how easily Clay took Diego down and controlled him on the ground. diego thinks he is ready 4 BJ he’s freaking crazy. The only fighter to take BJ down was a greased up GSP with a 30 lb plus advantage.

by oldskooljjsu on Jun 24, 2009 9:13 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If take-down-ability were the only factor in MMA, you’d be right.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Jun 25, 2009 12:11 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

bj is going to suck kennys balls!

by TRIKZ on Jun 24, 2009 9:29 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Congradulations BJ, you weigh exactly 1.2 pounds less than you did for your fight with GSP. That pobably accounts for the amount of piss GSP beat out of you!!!!!
