GSP GSP GSP GSP WAAAARRRRR CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS FIGHT. FIGHT OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE FOR SURE. HOPEFULLY THIAGO CAN’T STOP A FEW TAKEDOWNS TO MAKE IT INTERESTING. WHO AM I KIDDING I WANT A WORSE BEAT DOWN ON THIAGO THAN THE ONE HE GAVE TO BJ PENN. GSP GSP GSP.

by dkortez on Jun 24, 2009 12:49 AM EDT up reply actions

i’d say Lesnar by KO- GSP by Decision-and bisping by decision. ANYONE else care about the Stephan bonner fight and mark coleman?? honestly beating Coleman is nothing to be proud of. Im glade John Fitch is back on the main card- u know he’ll be looking at the Gsp alves fight i can see loser takes on fitch for number one contender spot.. i hope fitch fights Alves again for that spot

by ricky on Jun 24, 2009 12:50 AM EDT up reply actions

I’d much rather see the Jon Jones fight than the Alan Belcher fight. Hopefully it makes the main card

me too

No way, Akiyama’s debut in the UFC > Jon Jones fight vs a guy who will LnP him to a decision.

by nick on Jun 24, 2009 9:48 AM EDT up reply actions

THank you NIck! obviosuly some people arent too familiar with Yoshihiro Akiyama or you wouldnt be making that statement. Btw, Its the AKIYAMA fight! nOt the belcher fight! lol

I would have boycotted this entire event if they didnt televise the SExyama fight.

If anything, throw the Fitch fight on the undercard!

I get why people want to see Bones JOnes fight. He is one of the most exciting young fighters in the game, and has a very unique skill set that combines all types of throws, and exotic striking that catches his opponents off guard. But Jake “THe blanket” o’brien is like clay Guida in slow motion. All O’brien can do is wrestle. I dont know if JOnes will be able to toss him around the cage as easy as he did to Bonnar.

Bonnar vs. Coleman should be entertaining. Kind of…

but the best undercard fight is the Danzig vs. Miller fight. That is going to be a very competitive fight that will have a nice mix of good stand up and good jits.

TOo be honest, I am very dissapointed with this card. Since about UFC 50, I always wondered how amazing UFC 100 would be, but I am very dissapointed with this card. I never pictured it being so weak. This is a historic event, and to me this card just doesnt reflect it! im not even a fan of Couture or LIddell, but guys like that, shold be part of this event. Hell this is probably the only UFC card that I would welcome TIto to!

Only thing historic about this card will be the GSP/alves fight.
Hendo/Bisping will be the exact same thing that Bisping/Leben was…and the Brock fight is going to be a quick 1 sided beating, Mir will FOLD early!

No idea what to think of the Fitch/THiago fight.

Very happy to see Akiyama fight, but not in a fight meant to build him up. I dont think ANY build up fights should be on such a historic event. But all fighters accostumed to fighting in a Japanes ring, need to get at least 1 tune up fight in the UFC, that includes akiyama, so I would have pushed back his debut to UFC 101

It should be all meaningful, close match ups on this card. WE she shouldnt be seeing any 1 sided fights on this card. The main card should be all Title fights or fights with title implications!

I’d rather see Bones than that dry-humping Fitch. He humps like a regular rabbit, unlike Huggie Bear, who humps like a rabbit on 3 Red Bulls and 2 lines of coke.

Mir
Alves
Hendo
Fitch
Belcher

by TRIKZ on Jun 24, 2009 12:23 AM EDT reply actions

Mir by sub in the first
GSP by TKO in the 3rd, I think he will push the pace to wear out Tiago and then finish him
I think Hendo is finally getting a bit to old…not he sucks, but just a little slower makes a difference at top level.
Fitch seems like an obvious Gimmy
I cant see how Jones looses to O’brien
I think CB takes it
and not sure about Danzing vs Miller fight…and one would think that after being dominated by Guida, Miller could implement the same wrestling gameplan… But i just have a feeling that Danzing will take this

by Riskreturngroup on Jun 24, 2009 12:30 AM EDT reply actions

Both of Lesnars UFC wins have been against opponents that made for good matchups for himself. Frank Mir is the complete opposite. He is a bad matchup for Lesnar. Frank is good at the one thing that anyone can see Lesnar being beaten by. And that is submissions. Fortunatly for Lesnar, he has a reason to be hungry for his fight being as he lost to Frank in their first encounter. However, his temper could be his downfall as Frank Mir has been attempting to get into his head.

by RyanHobbs on Jun 24, 2009 1:14 AM EDT reply actions

Which submission do you see happening? A choke on a guy with no neck? A triangle? Nope, Lesnar won’t go to the ground. A flying arm bar? Sorry, not with Mir’s 3-inch vertical. Mir’s only chance to win this fight is with a sniper rifle from 500 yards.

by PW on Jun 24, 2009 11:18 AM EDT up reply actions

Im hoping for another peruvian choke!!
Is it hard to get? Because seems like it is rarely used or attempted by other fighters.

by ryan on Jun 24, 2009 2:04 AM EDT reply actions

That chock aint difficlt, you just have the seat belt position from north south in mission control almost and adjust to the right or left ( depending on your choice ) then leg over and sinch that shit up baby, they will tap in a heartbeat, its defo up there eith sorest subs

by apex103 on Jun 24, 2009 5:41 AM EDT up reply actions

also its only used byguys who have been using it for years and years, some guys just like it and can finish it, but in a high paced, high power ufc fight its not practical as you leave yourself open to, brute force escapes whick work 8 times outa 10

Very unlikely

If anything I want to see Brock get punched in the face once really good, just to see if he can take a punch.

Not sure if F5’ing yourself onto the mat is proof you have a chin, but I hope someone tests it soon.

Hard to say how he will lose given his first loss was so amateur.

Very excited for card tho.

by DirtyML on Jun 24, 2009 4:45 AM EDT reply actions

Yeah. His chin is untested
And i think he gets cut easily too.

by ryan on Jun 24, 2009 5:14 AM EDT up reply actions

Couture nailed him and he didn’t even blink. Even at 45, Randy still hits a lot harder than Murr.

by PW on Jun 24, 2009 11:19 AM EDT up reply actions

What do you mean? Randy got a seriously good/clean shot in on Brock and it didnt even phase the guy…

by mikehunt on Jun 24, 2009 2:07 PM EDT reply actions

ALves is going to get shitkicked. Fitch beat the crap out of him and GSP beat the crap out of Fitch. Cmon

by Bomber on Jun 24, 2009 4:23 PM EDT reply actions

look brock is dummer than a rock and if everyone thinks that he’s gonna win by throwing 2inch rabbit punches go F yourself he barely beat THE NATURAL , HE WAS WASTED BY THE 2ND ROUND… GSP is gonna work thiago into muscle failure then finish him off , i do not see that fight going to a DEC. NO WAY. HENDO still has the knockout power and great ground n pound age has nithing to do with this just look at RANDY COUTURE ( enough said ) AKIYAMA IS GOING TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF BELCHER THOSE WHO SAY BELCHER IS GONNA WIN OBVIOSLY HAVE NEVER SEEN AKIYAMA IN A FIGHT CARD

by houston texas on Jun 27, 2009 11:58 PM EDT reply actions

What fight were you watching? Those little rabbit punches were working on Mir the last time they fought- you strongly underestimate the power Lesnar possesses in his cinder block hands. So I am one of those people you told to go “F” themselves and my response is learn about MMA before you decide to leave the remarks of a waterhead! >BLOOD$<

smartist predictions ive heard all night

by david mccubbins on Jul 10, 2009 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

to all of you Lesnar haters, i say this; you had better pray to whatever god you believe in that nobody showed Brock how apply an armbar, kamura, americana or any other devastating sub. Imagine for a sec. what would happen if Brock only knew one of these subs; he would snap the arm off and take it home with him. We have all seen Mir break bones ,(Silvia), and he doesn’t possess half the strength of Brock. Lesnar by tko in 1st Alves by tko(ref stoppage) 2nd Hendo by unanimous decision (maybe KO in 2nd) Fitch by unanimous decion Akiyama by TKO in 2nd Bonnar wins, Danzig wins , Lawlor beats Dalloway, O’Brian to beat Jones (my upset of the night) and Grant wins along with Grice. Can’t wait till Lesnar vs. Carwin or Lesnar vs. Emelianenko “yeah right”, we can only pray to be so lucky to see that fight one day. >BLOOD$<

by BLOODMONEY on Jul 10, 2009 3:49 PM EDT reply actions

I want:
Mir via sub
GSP via sub or UD
Fitch via UD
Henderson via TKO
Akiyama via UD
Bonnar via UD
Jones via TKO (Spinning back elbow lol)
Grant via UD (Cause hes Canadian)
Danzig via sub
Dollaway via sub
Gugerty via sub

That’’s what I want, but in reality its probably going to be:
Lesnar via TKO
Alves via KO
Bisping via UD
