This commercial, like a lot of others I’ve seen from Zuffa as of late, is cool as hell.

im thinking it was more spiketv’s idea to have kimbo in the commercial like that~

i heard that, while kimbo is getting paid the same as what all the tuf guys are getting paid, he is still making way more..

im hearing that along with his zuffa check, kimbo gets an X amount from spiketv..which isn’t hard too believe..

apparently spiketv is responsible for kimbo on the show too..they were the ones who made ‘first contact’ about the idea~

I have a question that i’m serious about…how do you score a round if by miracle the 2 guys did the exact same thing and you believe it’s a draw?
Can it be possible to have a 10-10?
Or you absolutely need to favor one of the fighters and give a 10-9?

I saw on another site that does round by round coverage, that they also scored round three 10-10

Even when Kimbo was with Elite XC and Dana was trash talking him he still said the only way he’d ever take the guy was if he did TUF; and thats what he’s doing. Now that he’s got a few secs on a 22 sec commercial for a weekly TV show that airs free on spike; Dana’s a hypocrite…

Not saying that he can’t be a hypocrite, but on this issue; I really don’t see it. Especially since even when Elite XC was in business and Kimbo was still their main guy; Dana said “The only way Kimbo gets into the UFC is to do TUF”. Isn’t that what he said, and isn’t that what he’s doing???? I’d just like to know how he’s a hypocrite.

Kimbo isn’t headlining UFC PPV’s or UFN’s, the guy isn’t even fighting on a UFC card yet; he’s not being marketed as the next HW contender for the title; the UFC’s success does not hinge on the success of Kimbo Slice. Where are you drawing your comparison of Kimbo in EXC to Kimbo on TUF and how is Dana White a hypocrit for saying that “Kimbo isn’t a real fighter, the only way we’d allow him in the UFC was if he won TUF”; and that damn near everything Elite XC was doing was a horrendous way to do business (add many [expletives] where needed)???

If nothing that DW does or says strikes you as hypocritical re : Kimbo then I sincerely doubt you have any objectivity.

BTW – I think DW is great for MMA but he does contradict himself alot.

If it was like “UFC 105: KIMBO TIME BITCH’S”; I’d see where you guys are coming from; but there’s no comparison between the way EXC handled Kimbo Slice and how the UFC is handling him.

So if Kimbo had come to Dana and said, “Hey, I’ll take you up on your challenge, let me on TUF.” and DW had said “No screw off.” Wouldn’t you STILL be calling him a hypocrit for saying one thing and then backing out of it later??? Not evil, not a scum bag or a jerk. Just a typical successful businessman who will say whatever needs to be said to make sure he cashes in. Nothing wrong with that, its what powers capitalism. I just call them as I see them.

I guess where I’m confused with you guys is, how are you calling the man a hypocrit when he’s doing exactly what he said he would do??? So he bad mouthed Kimbo Slice (and he was right); but during all that bad mouthing did he not say “If Kimbo wants into the UFC he has to do TUF”. ? Did he not say “I might even be willing to make an entire HW season if Kimbo agrees to do TUF.” ? It would be hypocritical NOT to let him do TUF; then he would actually be in a position where he’s saying one thing and doing another.

Like I said above, I’m not saying the guys an angel, or that he can’t be a hypocrit, but when it comes to Kimbo Slice, he’s doing exactly what he said he would do, which is not hypocritical at all.

ODYGC – You are right on point man. I remember Dana saying that and while Dana is a guy that people love to hate he’s one of the smartest people in MMA. He knows what he’s doing. Gary Shaw did not, and EliteXC crumbled because of it. There is NO comparison between the two.

I will never utter the words “why was I so harsh on EliteXC” I was harsh on them and will never take it back. Classic mismanagement ending with a failed endeavor. I called that one just like half of MMA fans out there from the moment they brought Kimbo on.

Dude, Elite XC marketed Kimbo Slice as their premiere fighter; he was their front runner. That whole company based their success on him. There is NO comparison between what Elite XC did and what Dana White and the UFC is doing. Wether Kimbo Slice makes it or not, it doesn’t matter; that will not make or break the UFC. The guys on a show with a bunch of lesser skilled fighters like himself (Aside from Nelson); to fight his way into the UFC. What are you making such a big deal out of??
