Bellator XI weigh in results: Good and De La Cruz official for welterweight title fight
The field of 16 fighters set to compete at Bellator XI tomorrow night (June 12) Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., today tipped the scales for the official fighter weigh in event.
All of the athletes hit their respective marks, including the two men who have survived the grueling tournament gauntlet to compete in the first-ever Bellator Welterweight World Championship bout, Lyman Good and Omar De La Cruz.
Good -- who trains out of Tiger Schulmann’s MMA in New York, N.Y. -- toppled Hector Urbina, and most recently Jorge Ortiz, with second round finishes to earn his spot at championship glory. Meanwhile, De La Cruz scored a first round technical knockout of former UFC champion Dave Menne in the semifinals to advance to the final round.
In addition to fighting for the welterweight title, the winner of the bout between De La Cruz and Good will pocket a cool $100,000.

I love the way tournaments almost always spawn a new guy to watch out for.

I’m actually attending this event. Never been to an MMA match live before so I’m hoping for a good show. I’ve also heard alot about Lyman Good and he looks like he’s not too far from being one of the top welterweights around.

Lyman is what mma is all about. He is a great representative of TSMMA and shows the dedication of his team. Remember the name and the face…he will be larger than life in a short time and continue to have the respect of his followers, fellow TSMMA students.
