After seeing his team-mate Kos get knocked out by this guy, I don’t think Fitch will fool around on the feet. I see a 3-round hump-fest by Fitch.

yeah he is problably twice as good which means GSP would only kick his ass only half as much as last time
by dtoto on Jun 10, 2009 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions
OK fitch, we will just take your word for it! Why dont you demand a fight with Kos, punch a hole through his face and prove it instead of spooning with each other in the Sauna!
by john on Jun 10, 2009 5:17 PM EDT up reply actions
I wanna see thiago drop fitch in the first then go the way of Sok after everyone decided to jump on his bandwagon. If he does win, this post counts as predicting the KO.

I’d like to see that too, Fitch is extremely boring to watch for me..
by RoB on Jun 10, 2009 11:41 PM EDT up reply actions
Ya Kos, just got caught tho, Kos was dominating that fight up until that time.
Fitch has an Iron chin (as GSP proved). This Match is a foregone conclusion imo.
by ShaiZ on Jun 10, 2009 3:31 PM EDT up reply actions
YOu are so right. That guys was getting beat down like no tomorrow before he caught Kos. Fitch will mess this dude up. Mark my words
by enzo-enormous on Jun 10, 2009 6:50 PM EDT up reply actions
so he’s still never going to beat GSP, alves and never gonna fight Kos. so better than he was is still not good enough!
.
I’m literally laughing, I flop full house, get rivered by higher full house, rebuy, flop top 2 pair, guy calls 525 on flush draw, he its it! what a day!
by kevin on Jun 10, 2009 1:38 PM EDT up reply actions
Kevin – Never is not a term to use with MMA. I think Alves would put up a great fight with Fitch but I see him beating him. I also see Fitch wining a GSP fight 3 out of 10 times… not good odds but I think (and know thanks to Serra) that GSP is beatable.
Also I wouldn’t laugh too hard depending on who your online bank is, because the gov’t ceased the assets of two banks used for online poker…
by Arnold on Jun 10, 2009 2:14 PM EDT up reply actions
Good for you that you can laugh about it bossman. A lot of people would have taken it much worse.
by Pat on Jun 10, 2009 2:20 PM EDT up reply actions
I play live arnold, and you sound like the guy at my local cigar shop threatening me with a huge tax bill from ordering cigars online!
by kevin on Jun 10, 2009 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions
I know, I’m saying he couldn’t now…in a rematch. Just like Serra beat GSP, but everyone said he couldn’t do it again. Genius!
by kevin on Jun 10, 2009 2:33 PM EDT up reply actions
Kevin he has ( a long time ago ) and will beat Alves if they fight again. Alves fought the same Matt Hughs that eaked out a win over Serra, and fought Kos on short notice. Fitch is better than Alves.

Maybe this is why he didn’t want to sign the videogame rights to Dana, once he started playing with himself he would not be able to stop.
by fmx on Jun 10, 2009 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions
hahaha, had to read that twice before I got it!
by DAVE A on Jun 10, 2009 11:50 PM EDT up reply actions
I’ll probably get hammer for this one, but I still say Fitch is the #2 WW and Thiago is #3… If Thiago manages to get by Georges (which he won’t) I hope Fitch is first in line for a shot.
by Cole on Jun 10, 2009 1:29 PM EDT reply actions
If you want to get technical, you’re right considering Fitch holds a win over Thiago. I’m not so sure a rematch would go the same way though.
by MC on Jun 10, 2009 1:40 PM EDT up reply actions
You sound pretty confident about that Kev, just like Kobe would have a good game last night. lol
by BOW on Jun 10, 2009 2:18 PM EDT up reply actions
lol, wow, I know. he was due though and had a good half!
by kevin on Jun 10, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions
I would not go so far to say Fitch would definitely win a rematch agianst Alves (who has improved greatly since their 1st fight), but I think Fitch has all the tool necessary to pull off another win. I would pick Fitch 60/40 against Alves.
by Cole on Jun 10, 2009 2:41 PM EDT up reply actions
He had a good first quarter. Prob not betting anything tonight, but tomorrow for sure.
by BOW on Jun 10, 2009 3:40 PM EDT up reply actions
I got killed this morning, I’m done for the week
by kevin on Jun 10, 2009 3:47 PM EDT up reply actions
Yea well at least your still up big for the month! Sucks to lose to a full house when your also holding one!
by BOW on Jun 10, 2009 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions
I think that’s why another fight with Thiago is so important. If Alves wins or loses, I’d like to see Fitch vs Alves for their next fight.
by Arnold on Jun 10, 2009 1:49 PM EDT up reply actions
fitch the #2 WW? are u talking about the same jon fitch that lost to mike pyle in 2 minutes flat???
by lefthook187 on Jun 10, 2009 4:17 PM EDT up reply actions
The same one who tied for most consecutive UFC wins???
or
Went 5 rounds with GSP
or
beatdown Akihiro Gono and Thiago Alves???
by SoCalStunNa on Jun 10, 2009 8:45 PM EDT up reply actions
finch is my favorite ww in the game today, dude has one of the best chins, and if he does get rocked he recovers quick, he’s nearly impossable to submit, and is just a fighter in every sence of the word.
by Blazy J on Jun 10, 2009 1:40 PM EDT reply actions
Yep he’s tough as hell, he deserves another title shot whether it be against Alves or a rematch against GSP.
by Green Inferno on Jun 10, 2009 1:42 PM EDT up reply actions
I agree (although GSP would beat him again)…I think they should give Fitch the title shots continuously before KOS and Swick till they decide its alright to fight each other
by McArthur on Jun 10, 2009 2:11 PM EDT up reply actions
Twice as fighter huh???
More like twice as arrogent.
GAAWWWDDD, I cant stand this guy I wish my boy karo would just fuck him up.
I meen I know he can, I trained with karo and maan when he gets side control HE GETS SIDE CONTROL.
Karo is strong too I meen when he took me down I couldent do anything I was helpless and almost got subbed!!!
Karo has excellent submissions very very unorthdox and I kept getting caught and IM GOOD!!! Me and my lil brother had soo much fun with him we went clubbing and what not and the best part is that he called me BRO!!!
Oh yeah fuck fitch, loved the way he got a beat down from gsp hahahahahahahaahahaahahhahahahahhhahhahahahha
by Raditz on Jun 10, 2009 1:44 PM EDT reply actions
I can’t wait for the day Dana puts the gears to these guys at AKA and makes them fight each other
by McArthur on Jun 10, 2009 2:09 PM EDT up reply actions
haha…a Karo fan??? wow!! They’re about as common as Matt Lindland fans
by McArthur on Jun 10, 2009 2:34 PM EDT up reply actions
“the best part is that he called me BRO!!!”
I’m really worried for you Raditz… LOL
by Cole on Jun 10, 2009 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions
Because if Karo can hold you down then he can hold anyone down.
by PW on Jun 10, 2009 3:15 PM EDT up reply actions
i had to say something about this ………….hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
by Nokia on Jun 10, 2009 4:35 PM EDT up reply actions
you mean the karo who wets himself when he goes in the cage
by hddavidson on Jun 10, 2009 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions
lol, this is officially the only person hyping Karo.. I’m glad I had nothing in my mouth or I’d be cleaning up I laughed so hard!
by kevin on Jun 10, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions
raditz sounds like joe rogan with all the karo nut swinging, but fich took that beating from gsp and never stoped fighting back, and for the record finch would beat karo 8 out of ten times if not more.
by Blazy J on Jun 10, 2009 2:39 PM EDT up reply actions
well karo couldnt take ne down, or get side control, it was funny him trying, i asked myself why, then i realized my name is brock lesnar. puny humans
by dtoto on Jun 10, 2009 3:06 PM EDT up reply actions
That’s cool u rolled n’ partied with Karo, if I did the same I’d probably always like the guy regardless of most anything he does or says. I used to like Karo, then he became ‘kindofadickhead’. However, since he’s gone through all his troubles I think that humbled him and now I’m rooting for the guy to get his sh*t together and pull through. The 170lb weight class is so tough, I don’t know if he’ll ever get through for a title shot. I know he says he can’t make 155lbs but if he followed the proper diet plan he could. At 155lbs he could get 1 or 2 wins and get a title shot. Diego made the weightclass, I know Karo can, the question is does he have the mental discipline to make the cut?
by DAVE A on Jun 11, 2009 12:03 AM EDT up reply actions
I don’t like what he said about talent. Some people can work hard all their lives at something and not get to the level that others are at. A great shirt I saw once read, “hard work will beat talent if talent doesnt work hard.” Always been a fan of Fitch and I consider him #2 as well.
by BOW on Jun 10, 2009 1:52 PM EDT reply actions
he’s twice the fighter he was a year ago? i went to ufc 94 and thought he looked bad against gono?
by pp on Jun 10, 2009 2:37 PM EDT reply actions
Hahahaha he says they gave him a good chin in the game nd yet I knocked him out in 4 secs to win the belt ..lol
by $Curt$ on Jun 10, 2009 3:22 PM EDT reply actions
Jeremy Horn took me down and held me there. I think he could beat GSP, Fitch, and Alves. JK
by NewLyotoFan on Jun 10, 2009 7:39 PM EDT reply actions
fitch seems like such a quality guy, having said this – even if he has doubled his ability – i dont see him beating GSP
