thats what I came on this thread to post! lol

by john on Jun 9, 2009 10:22 AM EDT up reply actions

Thats on par with the cut that Vitor gave to Eastman. WOW

by Dave on Jun 9, 2009 10:23 AM EDT up reply actions

Nah, Vitor gave Eastman one that kind of arched with his eyebrow, and down the side of the eye. This is gruesome, but nothing touches Eastman’s Beast-Vagina. lol

I think Brown is a tough scrappy dude, but Jose will rip the belt from Brown, then destroy Urijah, Grispi, Garcia, Jens, whoever.

by Synyster on Jun 9, 2009 10:30 AM EDT up reply actions

when he fights brown for the belt~ it wont be as easy as cub..

brown/aldo is a dream match at 145~

and its most likely going to happen real soon.. it has too!!jose is undefeated in the wec with a 5 fight win streak..

hard fight to call..

by stinky~fingers on Jun 9, 2009 10:37 AM EDT up reply actions

I think this one is even worse, Cub had two sick cuts around his eye, he’s lucky that he didn’t lose it. Eastman’s looked awful but personally I find cuts around the eye the worst because they are so dangerous, not just ugly and painful. Brutal win for Aldo, that guy is scary good and he’s the only guy in the WEC who has a hope at beating Brown at 145 (unless Torres moves up in weight).

by David W-S on Jun 9, 2009 10:38 AM EDT up reply actions

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news guys, but I read an article yesterday that said, even with Aldo’s recent 5 second destruction over Swanson, he still isnt guarenteed a title shot.

I have a feeling its going to be:
Wagney vs. Brown for the title
and Aldo vs. Urijah, or Garcia. Probably Garcia, cause Urijah will probably be sidelined for a while do to his messed up hands.

If they match up Aldo vs. Garcia…its going to be fight of the year…HANDS DOWN!!!!

by john on Jun 9, 2009 10:41 AM EDT up reply actions

that is bad news~

how can they deny jose a title fight with a 5 fight [undefeated] streak in the wec..

if they dont hook him up with a title fight they better give him lenard!

u are right~ that fight could be fight of the year~

by stinky~fingers on Jun 9, 2009 10:48 AM EDT up reply actions

All it said was that a title shot still wasnt guarenteed. Hopefully the WEC gets their head out of their ass and gives him a title shot…like you stink, I am itching to see him fight for the title…..but Aldo vs. Garcia isnt a bad consolation prize. FOTY for sure!

by john on Jun 9, 2009 11:10 AM EDT up reply actions

If Aldo doesn’t get a title shot then the WEC screwed him over, what more does he have to do? Aldo-Garcia would be an awesome fight but I don’t see Leonard being able to stop the wrecking machine that is Jose Aldo.

by David W-S on Jun 9, 2009 11:34 AM EDT up reply actions

What’s Garcia done? He’s living off a KO of a rapidly declining Pulver and an entertaining but one-sided beating from Huerta.

by PW on Jun 9, 2009 12:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I totally disagree. He’s a scrappy banger. He has a lot of heart too. I would consider him top tier competition

by sp00ner1234 on Jun 9, 2009 12:22 PM EDT up reply actions

agreed with spooner…Its an extremely tough division with world class talent

by McArthur on Jun 9, 2009 12:33 PM EDT up reply actions

I wouldn’t say FotY at all. Jose would knock him out in the first round. Maybe FotN, but it wouldn’t last long enough to be the best fight of the year.

I think last weekend officially latched me on the Jose Aldo Warwagon. Can’t wait till he cleans out the division, then sets up a superfight with Torres. Tell me THAT wouldn’t be amazing.

by Synyster on Jun 9, 2009 1:05 PM EDT up reply actions

if he doesn’t get the shot now, i say aldo v grispi. that kid is really good too and would be a war. As for a fight with MTB, isn’t MTB a slow starter??? You cannot be a slow starter against Aldo. If brown made it out of the first he would have a very solid chance but if he doesn’t come out on fire he’s getting stopped quick. Aldo might be the fastest starter I’ve ever seen. He wastes no time and looks to finish constantly.

by Crowls on Jun 9, 2009 1:37 PM EDT up reply actions

Aldo would crush Garcia.

by Jeremyjackson on Jun 9, 2009 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Wagnney for a title shot i say then! He may be boring as f*ck to you guys but you can’t deny his technical game son. Him and Aldo will have FW on lockdown for years to come. I just hope that Mike Brown ups his grappling game so we can see a real war in there. I don’t wanna see get subbed right off the bat. Surely a war though and i’ll be riding all three bandwagons.

by NameNotRequired on Jun 9, 2009 6:10 PM EDT up reply actions

I think Aldo deserves the shot now, I’d be surprised if that doesn’t happen immediately. Let Fabiano rip Garcia’s arm off and then give him a shot.

by Jeremyjackson on Jun 9, 2009 6:20 PM EDT up reply actions

I would actually prefer Wagney vs. Grispi. More interesting in the grappling department!

by john on Jun 9, 2009 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions

That’s not a cut…it’s his third eye!

by Double A on Jun 9, 2009 10:18 AM EDT reply actions

That’s exactly what I thought. It looks like an eye above his eye.

by PW on Jun 9, 2009 10:19 AM EDT up reply actions

his eye is crowning!

kind of reminds me of the part in army of darkness, where ash’s evil side started to climb out of his shoulder.

by Blazy J on Jun 9, 2009 5:39 PM EDT up reply actions

he also had a cut on his lower eyelid ! that knee did some serious damage!

by Winner by Strikes!! on Jun 9, 2009 10:20 AM EDT reply actions

yeah i was thinking he might have broken his orbital..

but it looks like he took most the damage above the eye..

by stinky~fingers on Jun 9, 2009 10:25 AM EDT up reply actions

Did anyone else catch that he actually hit him with 2 knees. He switched knees mid-air and hit him with both the left and right. Check it out again in slow-mo. It was sick.

by Cole on Jun 9, 2009 12:56 PM EDT up reply actions

yea, originally i thought it was the right knee that landed, like a mid air switch kick in knee form, but in the replay i saw the left land and do most of the damage. Impressive stuff.

by Crowls on Jun 9, 2009 1:39 PM EDT up reply actions

I thought he “threw” both knees but only connected solidly with one…..either way it was quite the devastating blow.

by sudnvictory on Jun 10, 2009 5:31 AM EDT up reply actions

You couldn’t see it when it happened because there was so much blood. That is nasty.

by BeerManG on Jun 9, 2009 10:23 AM EDT reply actions

ewwhh~ nasty!

this was definitely the highlight of the night..

aldo is making a name for himself~ dang!!

i cant wait to see him fight mike brown~

by stinky~fingers on Jun 9, 2009 10:23 AM EDT reply actions

I have no clue why this kid isn’t getting the next shot at Brown as reported yesterday…Cub is no slouch

by McArthur on Jun 9, 2009 10:24 AM EDT reply actions

speaking of ‘kid’

i would love to see jose fight yamamoto~

but back to a possible future fight~

aldo should be getting a title shot after that win..

that was like his 4th or 5th win in the wec..

all i know is he hasnt lost yet~

by stinky~fingers on Jun 9, 2009 10:32 AM EDT up reply actions

Kid vs. Aldo would be DYNAMITE!!!!

by john on Jun 9, 2009 11:11 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah. If Kid hadn’t dropped his last fight due to rust it would be TNT!

by Jeremyjackson on Jun 9, 2009 4:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Damn JJ,i’m still not sure if Warren did beat him!

by Alpha Male 360 on Jun 9, 2009 4:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Admittedly, I haven’t watched the whole fight… but it shouldn’t even have been close!

by Jeremyjackson on Jun 9, 2009 4:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Even if a year and a half time off and the operations take it’s token of rust.Your absolutely right,it shouln’t have been close!

by Alpha Male 360 on Jun 9, 2009 4:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Will the real Cub Swanson, please stand up: http://bit.ly/BIUEK

by Vic on Jun 9, 2009 10:50 AM EDT reply actions

That sick looks wicked! If u watch tha tape it looks like Aldo actually hit Swanson with a double flying knee, that second knee might even be what caused tha second cut under his eye?

by Mike-C on Jun 9, 2009 10:57 AM EDT reply actions

I say he should get a shot too. He is by far the most destructive fighter in the WEC right now. I dont see him walking thru Brown, but it would be a great fight at the least.

by enzo-enormous on Jun 9, 2009 11:00 AM EDT reply actions

Woooow, that cut is… wow

by Keyvan on Jun 9, 2009 11:21 AM EDT reply actions

i was shocked at how quick that was..8 seconds..is that a record?? jose is serious no doubt..double flying knee..good stuff

by sarah on Jun 9, 2009 11:28 AM EDT reply actions

if you watch the video again the shoulda been over as soon as cub turtled…if it woulda been he would definately have the record with like a 3 or 4 sec ..

by $Curt$ on Jun 9, 2009 12:15 PM EDT up reply actions

That cut looks more like it’s a San Diego. Which I believe is German for " a whale’s vagina".

by Mattchupichu on Jun 9, 2009 11:51 AM EDT reply actions

Props for the Anchorman reference…

by BobC on Jun 9, 2009 12:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Cub must be asleep for the first 30 seconds of a fight. Didn’t Pulver choke him out early? Why wouldn’t he be ready for Aldo to come out fast? Dumbass.

by mikehunt on Jun 9, 2009 11:54 AM EDT reply actions

hmmm … yummy

by Prezes on Jun 9, 2009 11:56 AM EDT reply actions

Im guessing if he doesnt get the next title shot then hes getting the Maia treatment,( 5-0 all subs ) Who still has too beat Marquardt before getting a shot.

by Dayzah on Jun 9, 2009 1:31 PM EDT reply actions

Maia has looked awfully impressive but I think he should have to fight Marquardt to get the next shot at Silva. Marquardt’s been a stud in the division for a while and outside of his controversial loss to Leitas, he deserves another shot at Silva.

Besides if Maia can get past Nate, he will get the next shot I would think. That’s really not that bad of a wait for him (not including Silva taking a non-title 205 fight with Forest).

by sudnvictory on Jun 10, 2009 5:39 AM EDT up reply actions

Oh it’s a pic. He’s notbeing cut from the WEC. That title is deceiving.

by MauiPimpin on Jun 9, 2009 5:20 PM EDT reply actions

We’ll have to call him Cut Swanson now.

by Double A on Jun 9, 2009 10:05 PM EDT reply actions

The rock band Third Eye Blind is named after this fight

by jjdnb on Jun 9, 2009 11:20 PM EDT reply actions
