Looking forward to the show and seeing if Kimbo can win a fight.

I have a feeling Kimbo’s mystique (as well as his imposing demeanor) will shake the other contestant’s will.
by Jammin on Jun 3, 2009 1:09 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I thought it was very interesting that Dana admitted that Kimbo gets more than the standard $100,000 UFC contract if he wins TUF. I wonder how much more it would be?

Is there problems with the videos on the main page beginning at 3:45, or did my work computer just F up?
At 3:40 when I came to the site, I saw the video to click on. Then I went to previous pages to watch the first one, and then all the videos from main pages dissapear.
RIGHT NOW, I see both the Rampage and Rashad videos, but the Dana one doesn’t even show up on this page either, which makes me think its not my computer.
ANY INSIGHT?

Mystique? LMAO. If anything it will help the other contestants will to know that he is a no talent loser thug.
by Adam T. on Jun 3, 2009 4:15 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
More than likely the other guys on TUF are already lookin at him like he’s a chump, which is good for Kimbo in that he might get somewhere if they underestimate him.
by O damn he got caught on Jun 3, 2009 5:48 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Vast MMA experience or not, Kimbo is a bad dude.
You can jock him with ease from behind the keyboard, but as soon as you saw him in person, you would know what MYSTIQUE i was talking about.
by Jammin on Jun 3, 2009 6:31 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He does look intimidating, but we have also seen him get stopped by a much smaller opponent, with what didn’t look like a very powerful punch. I think any “mystique” he had is gone. Now it is time to see if he has any real skill, and if his chin can hold up?

Is it just me, or does Rampage sound more and more uneducated every time he opens his mouth?
In this video, he’s like the old teacher who says the same thing over and over, using slightly different wording every time.

Rampage sounds like a f*ckin p*ssy! Hes crying about Rashad talking sh*t, but isnt that what Rampage does best?
by JV on Jun 3, 2009 1:29 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
You hit the nail on the head there JV. Page likes to dish it out but when someone gets in his face and talks back to him he gets all offended. Page uses his humour to hide his fear…hence ducking Machida cause he had a score to settle with Shad. Who would bypass a title shot over a petty feud?
by Buster Bluth on Jun 3, 2009 2:04 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
what are u guys talking about? Rampage doesn’t talk sh*t and certainly not the way Rashad did coming in his face and disrespecting him right after the fight… you have to punch a hole in someones head that comes in your face like that and says that he’s gonna “knock you out motherf*cker” .. Rashad was being cocky and acting like a fool, going too far, and now Rampage is gonna make him pay for it!..
Alpha – are you saying that Rampage should be scared of MAchida? he ain’t a killer and this is just a sport, why be afraid.. he couldn’t finish Tito and he won’t finish Rampage if they fight
by RoB on Jun 3, 2009 2:36 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Rampage doesn’t talk sh*t…lol. That’s the most foolish statement I have ever read Rob. That’s what Page does best.

Rampage wants fights against fighters that bother him. Notice how he talked about how much he wanted to fight Forrest instead of getting a title shot before. He said that was the fight that gave him nightmares so he wanted that fight. He still has problems with Rashad and he feels that he can shut him up and he wants to. Also, he is doing whats best for the UFC by coaching on TUF again.

I’ve read where (icey Mike I think) Kimbo’s manager is a high school or grade school friend who doesn’t take a commission from him, and that he is a really bright guy! To build a porn empire when everyone has a porn site (highest money maker in the world), you got to have a brain.
To counter my comments yesterday, I respect Kimbo, he made a lot of money ONE year of his life…I respect that, I’d love to make that kind of money in one year! As far as why I dislike him as a fighter, he’s taking a spot from a serious mixed martial artist who has been trying to reach this spot for years! Bas has said he isn’t serious, I take it for what it is!
Just to let you guys know how reality pay is, it’s rate. Could be 1500 an episode (not bad). So if he makes the final and finishes every fight, he’ll have made 40k give or take in 6 weeks. I’d take it!
by kevin on Jun 3, 2009 11:29 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
how is the man NOT taking it serious? every video they have ever shown of kimbo is him working his ass off.. i am a big kimbo hater almost as bad as i am on fedor but the man deserves respect, he is going at this the right way and working hard to do it.. and dana just said they make 0$ unless they fight you don’t have to pay them if theres a way to make money either the most they make is like 5k for there fight and 10k if they win with a finish

I posted below about Kimbo Slice as a student of Bas Rutten, so I won’t reiterate all that; I’ll just add that apparently his work ethic is bad enough that Bas Rutten refuses to train him. He’s not going to win the show; I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t even make it on to the show.

CANseco the next UFC prospect
“I went into that fight feeling good,I was controlling the fight and keeping him at bay.I kept winging that overhand right and if it connected he would’ve been KO’d no question but he did a good job of avoiding it. Unfortunately my knee gave out, its a shame because up until that point I feel I was dominating using my footwork and I’m confident I would’ve won the fight.I injured my knee before the fight and I was advised to pull out but I took the risk and fought anyway.Choi is a very tough guy, in my opinion he gave Fedor the toughest fight of his career to date but during the fight I could see in his eyes that he was slightly dizzy about ready to go had I landed a few more blows I probably would have finished him”.
“But those are the breaks of being a MMA fighter. Now I know that I can compete with the best and I want to step up to the UFC eventually. This fight raised my confidence,If I could hang with the best in the world and dominate the way I was doing then I’m confident I could do the same against some of the big names in the UFC.You have to keep in mind that Choi weighed in at over 300 pounds, guys in the UFC are much smaller and that’s definitely a factor”.
“Well after I injured my knee I couldn’t remember anything, certainly not tapping.I wouldn’t ever want to go out like that.I’m hoping when people saw my fight they said ‘now that’s a warrior’ because I honestly gave it my all when I went out there.Right now I’m just resting my knee when I’m fully recovered then I’ll see where I will go from there”.

His work ethic will probably be much better when he is locked inside that house! Can u imagine how bad he would get bashed if he was one of the guys that asks off the show and leaves early. Dana will tear him a new one all the way outside the door! lol
LIstening to Rashad walk us through his account of the highlight KO that he suffered was priceless. I love watching Shad fight, but I think i liked seeing him get KTFO even more!

Nor-Cal,
Brendan isn’t being racist.
Back in HS, the phys. ed. teacher always asked around the last quarter of school what the students wanted to do. Did we (the students) want to hoop it up in the gym or hit the pool.
Take a wild guess as how the choices were selected.
+*P
ps. I’ll give you a hint, I can’t hoop but can swim laps a plenty.

ahhh this is gonna be a good season :D, i hope kimbo does well. I have never thought he was an idiot, the people around him overhyped him and stuff which was what caused the madness where from what i saw he always wanted to be a student of the game.
by SGTBlitz on Jun 3, 2009 11:50 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Well for wanting to be a student of the game he sure the hell didn’t care for Bas’s advice apparently. The only reason Rutten won’t train him is because Kimbo refuses to listen. Bas said he started off great, that if he had continued to train the way he started he had a bright future; but then as training went on he would discard the advice/instruction Bas was giving him. Doesn’t sound like a very good student imo.

Dana said if Kimbo won it, his contract would be very different. Not sure what he meant by that?
Different in that it would be the same six figure deal as other winners which would be a lot less than his Elite XC money, or different in that he’d be on Brock Lesnor type money.

Very good interview. Rampage, Evans, Kimbo, 4 ex- NFL’ers. This season should be off the charts. Very, very stoked. Nice job UFC. TUF was getting pretty lame before the USA/England show. This seaon is really good, and next looks to be even better. It looks to be making an amazing comeback. I really hope that Kimbo doesn’t end up on Rampage’s team. I’m really curious to see what he can do with some good coaching.

Nevermind, google saved the day
Added to the cast were Marcus Jones (4-1), Matt Mitrione (0-0), Brendan Schaub (4-0) and Wes Shivers (0-1). A fifth former player, Rex Richards, was also reportedly tapped for the show, which began taping on Monday, but recently suffered a partial MCL tear that forced him to withdraw from the competition

This should be a fun series, Rampage-Rashad has the potential to be as entertaining as Tito-Ken and BJ-Jens, nothing beats a big feud between the coaches and I wouldn’t be suprised if a fight between them breaks out.
Kimbo being a contestant should be fun, looking forward to see him get humbled, hopefully he’ll show his coach more respect than he did to Bas or else it could get ugly. Never heard of any of the former NFL players but they should be a laugh. This has the potential to be a great TUF series and will be the most watched one by a mile.

by tylerS on Jun 4, 2009 1:27 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Bas said he stopped working with Kimbo because he stopped listening to his instructions in the gym.
He also said everyone was telling Kimbo how good he is and he decided not to work with him anymore.
