Is it just me or was this interview painful to watch. The editing sucks and the questions where all over the place. Straka is a moron, a horrible commentator, and a terrible journalist. To top if off, he has no clue what he’s even talking about, he just reads what is prepared for him. Sorry Fedor had to sit through an interview with this tool.
WAR Emperor!!!

I actually didnt mind this interview. I thought it was decent. He asked some good questions about retirment, and the clarity in which Fedor saw Arlovski’s flying knee coming. Was it the best interview in the world? nO, but not for a second did I stop and think, wow this sucks…..so I really have no problem with it!
I enjoyed it, then again I would enjoy running backwards naked through a corn field if Fedor was running next to me! hahahaha

THose “crazy Russian people” must be so damn proud of being able to Boast the toughest man alive. I would love to see the kind of reaction Fedor gets on a daily basis in his hometown. He is probably treated like a gOD!

Arlovski is borderline obssessed with Fedor…which is a good thing because he desperately wants a rematch! great interview, make sure you guys read this:
Posted Jun 03, 2009 10:00AM By Ariel Helwani
The last time we saw Andrei Arlovski, he was picking apart the best MMA fighter in the world, Fedor Emelianenko. Unfortunately, an ill-timed flying knee proved to be his undoing, as after dominating Fedor for the first three minutes of the bout, he was knocked out cold.
Since then, Arlovski has talked about finally making his professional boxing debut, so it caught most MMA fans by surprised when news broke that he would be facing the undefeated Brett Rogers on the June 6 Strikeforce show.
FanHouse spoke to Arlovski about gearing up for Rogers on short notice and his quest to avenge his loss to Fedor. The full interview is below.
Ariel Helwani: Have you signed a long-term deal with Strikeforce?
Andrei Arlovski: No, no. I am still under contract with Affliction. We will see what will happen after.
Is there a chance that we’ll be seeing you fight at “Affliction: Trilogy” on August 1?
Yeah, maybe. Who knows?
What do you know about Brett Rogers?
I just saw him once fight excellent. He fought in San Jose (against Abongo Humphrey), and he knocked out his opponent. He’s a tough, big guy. He likes to strikes and he has heavy hands. He likes to strike, I like to box, so it will be an interesting fight.
No one has really tried to take him down. Is that something that you are hoping to do?
I can tell you one thing: I practiced my freestyle wrestling a lot and jiu-jitsu before I came to my training camp in L.A. I focused more on my wrestling and jiu-jitsu.
Have you been training for this fight at Freddie Roach’s Wildcard Gym in Los Angeles?
Yeah. I’m training a lot there, but not for this fight. I was supposed to have a professional boxing match on June 27 in L.A., but in my mind, I was thinking that I could fight somewhere in June for Affliction in MMA. So, that’s why I was training a lot in wrestling and jiu-jitsu.
Are you still planning on making your pro boxing debut on June 27?
Yeah. If no injuries after June 6, yeah, I will have my professional boxing debut on June 27.
Do you know who you will be fighting?
Not yet.
So, are you planning on fighting in both sports moving forward?
Yeah. I want to try it.
Have you watched your fight against Fedor Emelianenko in January?
No. No.
Do you plan on watching on it?
I don’t think so. All my trainers told me I should watch it because I have to watch what I did wrong, but I know what I did wrong. Not right now or anytime soon. I still hurt after this fight, and I know what I did wrong. The lesson I took from this loss was that I didn’t follow my game plan and that’s it.
How long did it take for you to get over the loss?
I took a couple of weeks off. After that, I had the opportunity to be on “Universal Soldier III.” I flew to Bulgaria to shoot the movie, and when I came back from Bulgaria, I came back to the gym and after that I came to L.A.
,
Did you enjoy the experience of shooting a film?
I had a lot of fun. It was very interesting for me because I did something new. It was good because it was a great crew with John Hyams, who was the director of “The Smashing Machine.” I had a lot of fun, and it definitely helped me relax my mind and forget about my loss on January 24. But when were shooting, I asked, ‘Listen, John, c’mon, let’s do something – I want to be the No. 1 guy in the movie,’ because the No.1 guy is [Jean Claude] Van Damme, and I said, ‘I want to kill him.’ And he said, ‘Well, you know, I’m sorry but you’re No. 2 because Fedor beat you on January 24.’ He made fun of that, but it’s kind of like he reminded me, and for a couple of days, I was in a bad mood because of that.
That’s not cool.
Yeah, but he’s a cool guy, and we joked around. I just took this too serious at the beginning, but after that, I made fun of it, too … Now I’m fine, and I have to move on.
Your manager, Leo Khorlinsky, recently told me that when you were on the set of the movie in Bulgaria, people were asking for the “How’s taste my pee pee” T-shirt. That’s pretty wild.
(Laughs) Yeah. It was funny. Actually, it was a really popular T-shirt in Bulgaria. When Leo flew back to Chicago, I asked him, ‘Can you bring a box of these T-shirts because everybody wants that T-shirt, ’How’s taste my pee pee.’
I heard that you actually didn’t mean to say what everyone thinks you said. Is that true?
I know my English is not good, and I tried to, you know, like on TV when they tell bad words it [sounds] like ‘beep beep beep,’ but it sounds like pee pee … It’s all good.
Right. Anyhow, the winner of this fight could get a shot at Alistair Overeem and the Strikeforce heavyweight title. Would you be interested in that fight?
Of course I’m interested … But more importantly for me is to have a rematch against Fedor. Like I said, I am beginning on my road to chase him everywhere. And I’m going to chase him, because if he’s a true champion and like he said, ‘I got a victory over Arlovski for all my orthodox fans,’ I just want to fight him again. I want to fight not only for my orhtodox fans, I want to fight for my Catholic, Muslim, Jewish fans … Just all my fans. To me, it sounds kind of hypocritical when he said, ‘I got a victory for all my orthodox fans.’ MMA is an international sport and I just want to fight for my fans; it doesn’t matter. I’m from Belarus, but my second home is the US, so I just want to fight for my fans. I just wish that nobody can beat him until I have a rematch against him.
Do you think he will beat Josh Barnett on August 1?
I’m sure and I hope. I pray to God to keep Fedor winning until I am going to face him again.
If he beats Barnett, do you think you could face him next?
Of course not. Like I said, I’m a contender right now. I don’t even know what my place in the ranks is. I’m like all the fighters in the line … The fact is that he beat me; he knocked me out. So, I am a contender and he’s the champion. So, I am just going to start chasing him again everywhere. I’m sure it will be a long way, but if somebody is going to give me a rematch right away, I would be more than happy.
How do you envision your fight against Rogers ending?
You know, in the press conference he said that he’s going to knock me out. I’m looking for victory … If I see an opportunity to knock him out, of course, I will knock him out. If I see an opportunity to take him down and do some leg locks, armbars or chokes, of course, I am going to do it.

Mania or whoever is handling the moderation right now, I really appreciate you guys posting the Ariel/Arlovski interview I posted. I know it was long, and you guys didnt have to do it, but I would like to say thanks and that I appreciate it. Its a great read, that everyone on this site should get to read.
Thanks again, Mania and Company!
Just another reason why the UFC should bend over backwards to sign fedor. yOU sign Fedor, and Arlovski and all the rest of the top heavyweight rebels that dont fight in the UFC will follow! THe UFC’s Heavyweight division has always been incomplete and weak compared to its other divisions…could u imagine how great the UFC Hw division would be with the addition of Fedor, Arlovski, Barnett, Werdum, and Overeem. I honestly believe that if they sign Fedor, all the other heavyweights would come begging to get into the Octagon!
HOpefully Arlovski’s obsession for a rematch with Fedor and his boxing debut on June 27th dont cause him to overlook Grim!
Happy to see that If Andre doesnt get injured, he is open to fighting on Affliction 3! I would love to see Arlovski vs. Yvel at Affliction 3….because Arlovski will want to go toe to toe with Yvel who has some seriously RUTHLESS stand up! THat would probably be fight of the night candidate.

Fedor, use focus your extreme dedication on a Rosetta Stone CD. Being more marketable to American fans will give you a stronger negotiating basis with Dana.
God I hope Dana will sign a one-fight deal for Fedor to fight for the title. Doesn’t sound like much has changed though. Fedor is still deferring to his “crazy Russian managers.”
by Punch You in the Ovaries on Jun 4, 2009 12:56 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Please…the guy probably speaks better English than you and most mma fans. And wake up – Fedor isn’t involved in any negotiations. He doesn’t have to say a word and Dana will offer him a ton of dough to come over to the UFC whether he says hello to the guy or not.
by Stop it on Jun 4, 2009 7:18 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I don’t know why people expect great fighters to speak English. Everyone gives Silva a hard time too. Maybe while they are training to be the very best in the world – some of these keyboard warriors could learn Russian or Portuguese…?
by Arnold on Jun 4, 2009 7:45 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I see both points on this. I don’t have any problem at all with fighters speaking thier native language. It kind of adds some mystery for me. I do hate that after a fight, Joe Rogan asks a guy like A. Silva the same type of a 4 point question he would give a guy without an interpreter, and expect a detailed answer.
It does’nt matter what Joe asks, the answer is always the same.
Joe Rogan:
So Anderson, tell me what you were thinking when Thales was laying on the ground, and how did you prepare for thid fight as opposed to the last one, are you the same fighter, and what do you think of my black shirts?
Anderson Silva: (through interpreter)
Uhh, he says he loves to fight and wants to thank all the fans.
With all that said, PYITO, may have a good point. If a fighter desires to connect with the average North American, UK, english speaking fan, it would probably help if he could at least speak some english. I don’t care either way, but for the average guy, who knows?
by Jrandolph on Jun 4, 2009 11:07 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Keyboard warrior? Perhaps compared to Fedor. Compared to you three, no. I could very much own you. I fought for years if you ever read my posts. I also have an engineering degree. I’ve owned multiple successful companies. I graduated with a 3.8, but always scored 4.0’s in all my English, Literature, Writing, and Speech classes. So, I can definitely speak better English than Fedor and if I could juggle all these things while fighting, Fedor could learn better English. I never said he fucking has to learn English, just that it would improve marketability here which is a statement of fact. I also never said I thought he was in negotiations. I said the opposite. So you can stick the "Wake-up" comment up your ass.
Bottom line, if Portugal was home to the top-tier MMA organization in the world and I was fighting at a professional level, I would learn Portuguese. And I would do it in under a year. You can’t train all the time. There’s plenty of downtime to learn.
And don’t stereotype everyone as keyboard warrior’s just b/c you are. There’s a few guys on here that fight or have fought in their past.
Fedor is great, but I swear……you wouldn’t think grown men would act so protective of another man. If I said, "Fedor should eat Frosted Wheat not Lucky Charms," someone would say, "No he shouldn’t! He’s the best and doesn’t need fiber. He likes Lucky Charms and their magically delicious! Frosted Wheat sucks!" It’s like I’m talking about your wife or something.
In summary, stop being "fags" (Dana White non-offensive to the homosexual community version)

Ovaries: Chill hommie. U know I always respect you on this site for your imput. as a very green young mixed martial artist I never disrespect anyone on this site who not only fights, but even if they just train.
I didnt even read who the post was responding to. I just agreed that in General 90% of the people on this site have never trained a day in their life, nor have they ever taken the time to learn a second language, so they shouldnt be quick to hate on a fighter because they cant understand him.

I dont think Fedor even wants to give the UFC a try. And in my opinion its cause of what happened to Cro-Cop. He came in on a 5 fight win streak. So nobody can say he was past his prime. He came to the UFC after beating Wandy and Barnett and almost got his head ripped off by Gonzaga! Then Mirko couldnt do anything with Kongo. I really think Fedor has taken these things into consideration and doesnt want to risk it.

by roy on Jun 4, 2009 11:52 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Horrible. please, correct me if im wrong, but the game plan gonzaga and kongo used to beat cro cop was to press him up against the cage, get busy points and beat him in a decision. First, who is seriously going to try to push fedor against the cage. that was sylvias game plan at affliction, and well, that didnt work out to well. second, no one is going to dare take him to the ground! He is one of the few fighters who would come in with very little adjustment to the octogon.

yeah they’d be done… there’s a reason fedor is the main event at EVERY affliction card… he’s really all they got…
what is arlovski v (insert name here) or anyone like lindland/vitor/whoever gonna draw buys? most mma fans only shell out cash for maybe one ppv a month, and that goes to the UFC. most non regular fans might only know about the UFC much less affliction…
no fedor = they’re screwed, after all they’re pretty much screwed with him anyway

the UFC will throw an outrageous contract at Fedor the second his Affliction contract is done. hopefully he will sign it.
Think of the match ups though. I do think Fedor has 4 more fights after the UFC he could take outside of the UFC though.
Fedor vs Arlovski II
Fedor vs Overeem
Fedor vs Werdum
Fedor vs Mousasi
In the UFC
Fedor vs Mir
Fedor vs Velasquez
Fedor vs Lesnar
Fedor vs Carwin
Fedor vs Machida…I am just hoping
Velasquez, Carwin, and Lesnar still need more expierence so I hope he waits before he goes to the UFC.

by johny on Jun 4, 2009 2:18 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I don’t think Fedor is the problem, it’s the quality of his opponents, mostly ex UFC losers (bit harsh) or never-competed-in-UFC-so-how-can-I-take-them-seriously contenders.
I expect Fedor vs Randy/Brock would be the biggest fight in UFC history if they could pull it off! Though, and I’m probably the only one saying this, I think Randy is done now – he looked frail in his fight with Lesnar, (though who wouldn’t I guess!) all of a sudden in that fight he looked old, lacking muscle mass, like he’d been training for a veterans marathon or something…
by Jimrod on Jun 4, 2009 8:48 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
The quality of his opponents is second to none actually, show me anyone with better list of opponents in HW division. Barnett and Arlovski are both Top 5 HW and Sylvia is easily Top 10. Arlovski left UFC on a win-streak and Dana himself was upset about not being able to keep him, Barnett beat Couture for the championship back in the day when Couture was a force to be reckoned with and has not lost for quite some time. Sylvia lost to Couture and Nog (who Fedor beat twice).

Yeah it was a good interview, I like his interview style. After Affliction 3 it is clear that Strikeforce and Affliction should merge to create a single orgnisation.
Combine fighters and then I see a true challenge to the UFC. The flip side is, it would also provide UFC fighters with an alternative once their contract end. Should be interesting and I can only hope this occurs.

LMAO, you can’t be serious. Mir doesn’t even have better stand up than Brock Lesnar. The only way Mir will beat Lesnar is with a Knee bar. If Fedor Wants to fight Sambo then the UFC should allow this. The benefits far out way the risks. If Fedor doesn’t fight for the UFC it is the UFCs fought not Fedors.
